The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Cafas wandered into the building properly, following Mr. Hunter. Cafas was not even mildly surprised when the man ripped a section of wall up, the sound of ripping threads indicated an increase in his muscle size, and likely density. The man put the piece of wall down to create a makeshift table. Well that was certainly convenient.Though Cafas really failed to see how it was necessary, outside of a convenient show of strength.
"We should compare maps."
Oh, well that mad far more sense. The man pulled out a map of his own. a few of the markings made sense, some crossed out regions, that sort of thing, others were much less immediately obvious. Cafas pulled out his street map and lay it out on the table. His subway map was likely not terribly useful but he pulled it out, though left it folded. He compared the map he had with the other man's. It was far more limited than Cafas', but it also didn't seem to be put together in as safe a location. Probably drew it as he went.
Well this seems like it's going well enough.
"You only seem to have down to Central Park. The sort of blue region shows the area controlled by the settlement there. They seem pretty peaceful, but they get raided too often for my taste. The pink area shows the territory of the. Damn, what were they called? I think Amazons. Orange is controlled by the guys that run that fighting thing down on Liberty Island, to the best of my knowledge, and that red region is almost impassable, but I swear there is someone living in there." He pointed to each of the areas in turn. There were other marked areas, but only dotted outlines. "I suspect there's another town, but they taught me very quickly that visitors aren't terribly welcome, and from my scouting that's were the person lives in the red zone, looks like a glass palace. A few other places, look like individual dwellings."
Everything else should be pretty self explanatory.
Places of genuine importance to him were left off. He knew where they were, others did not need help finding them. His on place, Verdy's, and his meeting spots for various people were all absent. There were a few suggested routes marked, that was about it. Well, no, but the other marks had a key down the side. "That map is of the Subway system, what's left of it. There's another group down there but I can't seem to get a solid idea of their territory. They don't seem fond of visitors, but neither do they seem overly keen to engage me, though I suspect my sheer size has something to do with that."
Cafas lay out his map, it was certainly more detailed. The Ranger produced a pen and added to his map as Cafas explained the markings on his. The Ranger added the details to his map, drawing the borders of regions as well as making notes of what Cafas said. The group at Central Park was peaceful, a group calling themselves Amazons which he assumed meant they were all or mostly women, fighting area on liberty island, and an impassable area in lower Manhattan. That made sense, from what Ranger could guess the blast came from Staten Island, if it reached almost all the way to the mansion than everything down in lower Manhattan would be a mess of collapsed buildings and glass dust.
"Are there any nomadic or semi nomadic groups t' be aware of down South? I've had t' deal with a few small groups who thought my home looked nice."
Then Cafas indicated his other map was of the subway system. The Ranger moved it to get a look at it. He hadn't worried about the subway since the blast. He viewed it as likely destroyed under the weight of collapsed buildings, but knowing what remained might prove useful were he desperate enough while fleeing assailants. "Your size is intimidating," He responded without looking up. "Wouldn't stop me from droppin' ya if you were too close t' my home. Nothin' personal, jus' lookin' out for my family."
Cafas thought over the man's question for a few moments. Nomadic groups. apparently some were up North. He couldn't think of any he had been in direct contact with, one or two strangers along the roads, hardly groups. Still something lurked in the back of his mind, a discomfort about the subways. Half caught glimpses through the dark, the feeling of being watched. "On the surface it's mostly individuals. In the subway though." He paused for a moment, involuntarily, as a shudder passed over him. A frown, almost fearful, found its way on to his face. "There's something in the subway, more than one, I would think. I can't tell you what, if it's human or not, I've only ever seen shadows move from the corner of my eyes. Half formed shapes in the dark, nothing solid. Once or twice an echoing growl from deep in the subway. That's the red lines over the tunnels, suspected borders. Trouble is that they keep on shifting. If you go in there, have someone to watch your back."
Anything else. Only a rumour.
Cafas looked at his map for a moment while thinking about what to say. He really felt this was almost not worth mentioning, however. "There 's a rumour around, maybe it's true, maybe it isn't, of a town, heavy guards, some nut jobs running it, real safe, but only if you already live there. I dunno where they are, but sounds like they employ your strategy on home defense, shoot first." Cafas couldn't work out much more about the group, but he knew enough to figure out that he didn't want anything to do with them.
The Ranger listened and made mental notes of what Cafas said. From what he said the subway sounded like a horror movie more so than real life. Granted, life had become more like a video game series in recent years. He also had a rumor about a town. It sounded like something that could go bad fast, Jonestown style. Guards to keep things out can also keep people in, nutjob running the show, and to the Ranger just couldn't believe anyone out of the goodness of their heart would keep a population safe in this world.
"I'll keep that in mind." The Ranger folded up his map and returned it to its pocket. There was only so much daylight and he had burned enough of it. Information was always valuable, but there were more pressing matters.
