The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

“Sure Sam, the cure for everything is pain killers and healing sessions with me!” Doc said sarcastically as he went to one of his cabinets to remove some high doses of painkillers. Once Gawain went off to make a call Doc handed Sam some pills and some water, sure he was suffering still from some migraines but no need to over do it on the painkillers. Ideally the stuff he gave Sam just dulled any pain he was feeling not make him a drugged out mess. Doc waited a few minutes before handing Sam a napkin, “In case you start drooling…”
Sam smirked slightly and nodded his head hoping it wouldn’t come to that. Running through a few thoughts in his head Sam was happy that the pain that was causing him intense pain seemed to be temporarily non-existent, or at least not noticeable enough to keep him from thinking about anything.
It took some time after Gawain made the call for Jorge to arrive but when he did he entered the infirmary and pointed out the obvious. ”Well, I wasn’t sure after getting checked out by Doc here but now that we have a second opinion…” Sam tried to laugh but it seemed to make his stomach churn, either due to his already existing conditions or with the pain killers on an empty stomach. Sam looked to Jorge and then to Doc and asked, ”Can you grab me some paper and a pen?”
Once pen was in hand Sam looked to Jorge and then started to write down his license plate from his motorcycle and then handed it to him, ”I need a favor, run a check and see if I left the state at all in the past week.” Sam’s head throbbed momentarily breaking free from the painkillers grasp. Sam jerked his head slightly placing a hand on it trying to prevent his head from hurting any more. ”Train station, Bus, border, plane, anything that could carry me a large distance in a short amount of time.” Sam quickly added before looking back to Doc. ”Might need to up the dose soon, only got a few seconds of relief.”
”Gawain,” Sam said looking to his student lowering his hand from his head, ”Remember the story I told you in Germany?” Sam asked hoping he could say as little as possible and think even less given the circumstances.
Jorge in his expert opinion was completely right. Sam did look like he had just been through... a lot. Gawain stood back while Doc and Jorge dealt with the X-leader, and watched with folded arms. He was not happy at all. Something was off about Sam, and it was either the mother of all the world's hangovers, or... something worse.
>>”Gawain. Remember the story I told you in Germany?”
Gawain stepped closer and nodded. Their first off-the-record mission together, Sam had shared quite a few things with the mirrorwalker while Maya was helping him (and getting her butt kicked in the process).
He tried to recall the details the best he could. if that was what Sam suspected to be behind his amnesia...

Jorge

The detective smirked. But only lightly. He knew how strange and dangerous this situation was. He didn’t want Sam to feel like he didn’t care, but obviously Jorge had to state the obvious. Sam really did look like hell and he could only wonder what had happened to the man. Maybe that was why he was called in.
He nodded to Sam’s request and pulled out his notepad and pen from his coat pocket. He handed both over to the man. After only a few moments of jotting down a series of numbers and letters, Jorge glanced to recognize it as a license plate number.
>> ”I need a favor, run a check and see if I left the state at all in the past week…Train station, Bus, border, plane, anything that could carry me a large distance in a short amount of time.”[/color]
He was in pain. Jorge could see that much about his situation. And the simple fact that he was asking for the locations of his vehicle made the detective wonder. This seemed more than just a simple theft. Something had happened to Sam and he needed to know where he had been. Almost as if he had lost track of himself.
The thought was a terrifying one but the detective complied by taking back the pad and pen.
“Yeah, I’ll call that in right now,” he said as he stepped away to allow the Doc, Sam, and the X-Man to converse freely. Once he had stepped away, he pulled out his cell phone and dialed the precinct. He had a good friend there, Hazel. She would be sure to track the license plate number in as quick a time as possible.

OOC: Check Otherside to see the one who is taking control of Sam and where he has been during his time missing and under mind control.
The pain was starting to round again and with the painkillers in his body running there course he was just starting to feel numb. He could still feel but everything was dulled. No longer could he feel the patient table he was sitting on or the clothes on his back the only thing he could still feel was the pain in his head. Sam winched slightly when Gawain confirmed what he remembered from Germany. Making note not to think on the topic of that discussion he had with Gawain back in Germany Sam nodded his head, ”One in the same I think…” he winced again and grabbed his head and looked to Doc and nodded as Doc reluctantly upped the dose and then put his hands on Sam’s arms.
The pain receded due to the addition of painkillers the lack of focus from another or Doc trying to soften the pain that was quickly consuming all of his thoughts. ”Don’t know what is going to happen or what had happened…” Sam paused and then stood trying to get some movement going in hopes he could put some of his brain power to work and distract himself from thinking about something else.
It didn’t work he almost collapsed and was caught by Doc, “Sit down Sam! Got enough pain killers to put down an elephant.” it wasn’t a request and reluctantly Sam did as he was commanded, ”All I know is I’m not acting like myself… If anything happens take care of it got it?” Sam said wincing again and moving his body so he could lie down. Sam just hoped Gawain could put it all together, Sam wasn’t being direct and he figured that was why his brain hadn’t exploded with pain.
Sam for the first time in a long time was scared he had no idea what he did or was about to happen he just knew for a time he wasn’t in control. Did he kill again? Sam’s thoughts started to slow he thought about what would happen if he lost control in the school and his fear spiked momentarily before he yawned through the pain and effects of drugs.
Be it the drugs or the pain or anything that had happened he was getting tired, his eye heavy and his thoughts slow. He closed his eye for a second and then opened it, ”Think I need some sleep…” his eye closed again and Sam turned his head towards Doc and Gawain, ”Trained you for a reason, dumb ass if anything happens take care of however needed got it?” Sam said again yawning slightly before slipping into the unconscious.
Once he was under Doc looked to Gawain and Jorge, “He should be alright for now, he’ll sleep for a few hours hopefully you two can figure out what happened before he wakes up.” Doc paused and brought out some fresh I.V. bags and prepaid Sam for a drip. In hopes to get him re-hydrated. “I’ll keep an eye on him and let you know if there is any changes. First time I have ever seen him like this…” Doc shook his head and turned to his instruments and began to work muttering about not having a normal day at the mansion.
>>”Don’t know what is going to happen or what had happened…”
"Well, we'll just gonna have to figure it out" Gawain shrugged. Sam was pretty much out of it by now, but he looked like he could use some encouragement. "I swear if it turns out ya were sh*tfaced in Canada for a weekend, I'm takin' over the team."
As if he ever would.
>>"All I know is I’m not acting like myself… If anything happens take care of it got it?”
"Aye aye capt'n."
>>"Think I need some sleep… Trained you for a reason, dumb ass if anything happens take care of however needed got it?”
"Got it, got it' Gawain waved, walking out of the infirmary with Jorge "Sweet dreams, princess."
Once out of the room, Gawain sighed and looked at Jorge. "Please tell em ya got a way of finding out where he went. This could go sideways on us very fast, and he is the only leader we've got."

Jorge
From the sounds inside of the med room, it was obvious that Sam was still in pretty bad shape. Just from his talk with him, Jorge could see that Sam was going through hell. But what was wrong with him? If the Doc couldn’t find what it was, the detective really had to wonder where else they could look. The Doc was pretty resourceful and his power allowed him to see wounds as well as heal them. But Sam, he wasn’t outwardly wounded. Was it just all in his head?
The detective sighed as he rested against the wall outside of the DocProf’s office. It really was too early in the morning for this shi—
“18th precinct, how may I help you?” came a screechy voice over the phone. Jorge winced and momentarily held the phone away, waiting for his head to stop buzzing. When it finally did he returned the phone to his ear.
“Cynthia? It’s Jorge. Patch me through to Hazel, please,” he said. The last thing he needed was that woman’s voice in his ear.
With a sound of approval from the loud-mouthed receptionist, Jorge crossed his arms over his chest, tapping his foot as he waited for his line to be connected. Sometimes Cynthia wasn’t the best at transferring calls, so it was a bit of a risk to have her do it. Sadly, he forgotten Hazel’s number himself so he made do.
A sound of footsteps drew his attention as he looked up to see Mirror stepping out from the medical office. The X-man was obviously concerned but he masked it with that youthful and mischievous face of his.
>> "Please tell me ya got a way of finding out where he went. This could go sideways on us very fast, and he is the only leader we've got."
Jorge nodded.
“I’m being patched through to someone right no—Hazel! It’s Jorge,” he said as he returned to his phone call. Cynthia finally patched him through. “Yeah…yeah…no, Gemma is fine. Listen, could you do me a really big favor? Uh-huh…no…no…no I know I still owe you another pack of cards. Yeah? Deal. Okay listen, could you track a motorcycle license plate for me? I need to see where it’s been the last few days. Uh-huh…okay the numbers are…”
Jorge rattled off the license number. If anyone could track it, he knew that Hazel could…
He wasn’t moving, he was forced under to sleep that had to be it. No matter though, Amanda preferred it this way it made it easier to manipulate taking control of someone who was dreaming is far easier than making them think they are dreaming. She pressed herself into Sam’s mind long enough to take control. First thing Amanda did was force Sam’s eye open his good one the one that gave a basic layout of the room he was in along with the other man there. ‘Must be the healer’ thought Amanda as she willed Sam’s body to move removing the IV drip from the needle in his arm.
He was quite when she was in control mind and body, Sam’s breathing was steady and muffled there was no way the old man who had been trying to patch Sam up could hear him approach until he was right behind him.
Doc turned slightly and his eyes had caught Sam behind him motionless standing there looking like he was out of it. “I thought you’d be sleeping with the amount of drugs in your system, then again you are always stubborn when it comes to things like this. Now I’m not gonna tell… what are you doing Sam? Sam? SAM!” Doc yelled his name and before he could yell for help Sam had brought his hand down to Doc’s neck knocking him out.
There was a loud crash as Doc toppled over knocking a few beakers and glass equipment to the floor as he fell along with them he didn’t move but his breathing continued. Sam’s motionless body stood over it for a second before lifting his hand to the nearest window and blasted it with a few dozen-ice shards. The window shattered and Sam exited the infirmary and did what shadows do best vanish.
Gawain leaned abck against the wall waiting for Jorge to make his phone call. Sam was in a pretty bad shape, probably out of commission for a while, so it was left to the two active X-men present to make sense of all that had happened.
Jorge talked some more on the phone, and there was suddenly a crash from inside the infirmary. Gawain pushed himself away from the wall and walked to the door, knocking.
"Hey, is everyth..."
Another, louder crash and the sound of broken glass answered him. Bursting through the door, hoping Jorge was quick enough to follo, Gawain stumbled into the room to find an unconscious Doc and an empty bed.
"Awww dammit Sam ya gotta be kidding me!" he yelled in frustration, crouching to check on Doc.
"Jorge, call someone."
With that, he was at the window. Broken glass shards were jutting out everywhere, so he mirrorhopped through and ran outside, hoping to catch up with Sam...
