The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Another new comer. Sebastian looked her over, appraising her green coat and red hair. He hadn’t thought that people in New York City would be nearly this talkative toward strangers. When she spoke it was all about cats, another strange thing about her.
“He wears a collar, ma’am, but no one could ever own this particular feline. He owns himself.” He bowed to her and tipped his cap as before. “I am Sebastian Csendes, and you are…?” cute. Hopefully she wasn’t a mind reader.
ooc: no worries, I was waiting for you to reply anyway
ic: Naveed looked to Andy and thought a moment. It really did sound like a suicide mission... he had to agree with sebastian on a lot of points. Then again, Sebastian didn't have anyone in the camps he assumed. And Andy, well... he just hated the idea. Naveed had more reason than any right then and there to want to raid the place. So with a heave of his shoulders and a sigh he nodded to Andy. "My sister's in there. I've got to get her out"
Naveed doesn’t answer for what feels like forever, though is probably just a thoughtful pause, and Andy occupies himself by watching the crowds nearby.
> "My sister's in there. I've got to get her out"
Andy blinks in surprise at the news of Naveed’s sister, whom he feels vaguely like he ought to have met, or known about, or something.
Come to that, he realizes he really doesn’t know very much about Naveed, despite having known each other for a while. Or… well, how long has he known the guy? All he can remember is meeting Naveed on the train, and even that is kinda vague… but he has a far stronger sense of the man’s familiarity, neverthess.
He knows Naveed is a mutant, for example… though the glowing red eyes had rather given that away… but on the other hand he doesn’t actually know what the man’s powers are. And hadn’t known he had a sister.
I guess mom’s right about me not paying attention when people talk, after all, he thinks abashedly to himself. He does try to listen to people, but it’s difficult when they think, and talk, so incredibly slowly relative to his time-sense. But of course he can’t ever say that to anyone; it makes him sound like an arrogant jerk who thinks he’s smarter than everyone else. Which he knows he isn’t; just faster, which isn’t the same thing at all… but still, it’s hard to concentrate on what people are saying.
He nods to Naveed. "We’ll get her out," he replies, trying to sound confident… then realizes that at his current speed factor, that probably came out as an unintelligible blur of sound, so he tries again: "Weee… wiiiill."
Extra: The guards are still in the vehicle about two blocks away. I am being followed via signal on my watch.
IC: Kitra smiled and put out her hand, "Hello Sebastian. My name is Kit." She smiled up at him and the cat, "It's true that cats own themselves, especially the ones that hold themselves so majestically." She held her hand out for the cat to smell and perhaps let her pet him. Her lovely guards were probably getting annoyed at her behavior. But, she did know how to protect herself, so it was all good in her mind. She looked over at the sighing gentleman and spoke quietly, "It's unfortunate about your sister being in the camps. If I guess correctly that is. But I wouldn't be so hasty as to go in by yourself."
Kitra knew she was taking a risk right then and there, depending on how this turned out, hopefully for the better and not the worst. She shoved her hands into her coat pockets, simply waiting for the reactions of everyone to occur. 'This may turn out to be a very useful endevour indeed.'
Cameron strolled through the park aimlessly for what seemed like hours, talking to plants and munching on a rather tasty burrito. The weather was pleasant, not extraordinarily describable, but even so, Cameron felt the need to where his new birthday scarf from Kai. Kai had taken several days to recover from the New Years excursion, and in the mean time, Cameron had found his birthday present and opened it. The scarf fit him perfectly and was nice and warm. And fuzzy. Another added bonus. Leave it to Kai to find the perfect gift while he had found a chatty sprout that he didn’t help raise.
Cameron sighed at his foolishness and took another monster bite of his burrito. He was now somewhere deep in the park and he had passed several people along the way. He wasn’t too worried about the fact that he had absolutely no idea where he was. He simply walked on until he came across a most peculiar sight.
A group of people was off to the side of the path near a bench. Not that people themselves were particularly unusual, but just the atmosphere around them seemed tense and kinda creepy. One was a man with a baseball cap and a cat on his shoulder. He seemed to be rather quiet so Cameron’s gaze flew to the man that was next to him. He was all twitchy and jittery. Lay off the sugar! Cameron thought, slightly bemused. There was also all tall… no a giant of a man and a woman in a long trench coat with long red hair. All the people were sullen faced and serious, except the red-haired woman who looked rather nervous.
Cameron took his last bite of burrito and crumpled the wrapper into a tight ball, which he shot into the nearest trashcan. They shouldn’t be so serious on a nice ‘ole day like this! Cameron thought happily. For some strange reason, he was drawn to these people. He sauntered over to them and said with the most goofy grin on his face and a slight British accent:
“Hello chaps! Lovely mornin’ for a stroll in the park, eh?”
Holy crap! What was he doing? He sounded like he was on drugs, but he couldn’t stop smiling. Maybe it was the plants here. He wasn't quite sure.

>>>"My sister's in there. I've got to get her out" >>>“We will get her out.”
Sebastian heard them. Apparently they were still planning on their suicide mission to attack the camps. He might have to follow them, just to make sure they didn’t get themselves killed. Only part of Sebastian’s brain was thinking that though. Another part was focused intently on what the woman in the green coat was saying.
>>>“Sebastian. My name is Kit." She smiled up at him and the cat, "It's true that cats own themselves, especially the ones that hold themselves so majestically." Her eyes were so beautiful. Sebastian reached for her hand to kiss it, the way gentlemen used to do when they greated a lady. But the lady got caught up in the conversation of the others, turning away from Sebastian for a moment. He dropped his hand back down. He was being silly and he knew it.
>>>"It's unfortunate about your sister being in the camps. If I guess correctly that is. But I wouldn't be so hasty as to go in by yourself." She had some common sense, this woman. Sebastian admired her for a moment before a new voice interrupted from behind him. Another newcomer!
>>>“Hello chaps! Lovely mornin’ for a stroll in the park, eh?”
Suddenly this gathering was getting a little too noticeable. That and there was a lot of hormones running through Sebastian’s veins at the moment. stupid twenty-year old body. It was time to go before he did something really stupid. He knew his weaknesses and he knew that he should leave now before he got dragged into something he really didn’t want to be dragged into.
“Lovely to meet you, but I must be going.” Sebastian did catch the girls’ hand this time and kiss the back in farewell. Then he gathered up his newspaper and extracted himself from the group. “Good luck,” he said as he walked away.
It was time for his lunch and the cat’s too. He walked to the deli just across the street and got a tuna sandwich and a veggie sandwich. Then he walked back to his car that was parked in the hotel parking lot. No one was around, so he addressed the furry feline on his shoulder in a quiet voice.
“Well, Sinatra, it looks like they are going to be getting themselves into trouble. What do you say we go and make sure they don’t get themselves killed?” He opened the car door and looked inside, he really didn’t want to get in the car again after just having arrived that morning. “We’ll only drive to the edge of the city, okay? Then we’ll be hoofing it the rest of the way.”
Kitra looked at the three that were still there, "Look, I'd be careful going into the camps if I were you." She started moving after Sebastian and stopped, turning to look at them again. She shrugged and ran off, hoping they'd be okay. Right now she wanted to see if she could catch up with Sebastian and Sinatra. She ran for a few blocks and stopped wearily, realizing that they must have caught a cab. She sighed and leaned against a lamp post, thinking of what she should do next.
Naveed turned back to Andy. "I'll admit friend it does seem like a bad idea... but I guess at this point I've got nothing left to lose" he shruggeed "It's easier for them" he said motioning to the others walking off "it's all easier until it becomes personal" he kicked the ground. "Any grand idea speedy mic speed?" he joked.
> "It's unfortunate about your sister being in the camps. If I guess correctly that is. But I wouldn't be so hasty as to go in by yourself."
Andy is surprised by the girl’s response to Naveed – he’d noticed her talking to Sebastian about the cat, but hadn’t paid particularly careful attention to her.
Now, listening to her, he wonders if she’s involved directly with the Camps. Maybe she has mutant friends or relatives or something, or maybe she works there (or, more likely, one of her parents does), or something like that. Heck, she might even be a mutant herself! (Though really, what are the odds of that?)
It doesn’t matter, though. In Andy’s mind the world has divided itself clearly into three groups: the X-Men, anyone willing to help him rescue them, and everybody else. And the girl’s comments about “hastiness,” which Sebastian obviously approves, puts them both firmly into the third group.
And, as if to underscore that, the two of them run off with the cat. Judging from how shamelessly Sebastian was flirting with the girl, Andy has his own guesses as to where they’re off to… no doubt something more entertaining than a prison breakout.
He tries not to get too upset about it. Really, seems like a decent enough guy. He’s just not willing to risk his neck getting involved in something dangerous to help a bunch of strangers… can you blame him?. He knows he’s repeating himself, but it’s important to him that he not end up blaming innocent bystanders for not providing help there’s no reason they should provide.
Besides, he reminds himself, There’s still Naveed! Which makes his team exactly twice as large as it had been an hour ago, although he still doesn’t know what the man is capable of.
> “It's all easier until it becomes personal. Any grand idea, Speedy McSpeed?"
Andy chuckles at the nickname… it’s not one he’s used before, which is actually fairly impressive given the number of nicknames he’s gone through (he’d drawn the line at his brother’s suggestion of QuickDraw McGraw, though.)… and shakes his head. He pulls a printout out of his backpack to show Naveed, showing as much as he’d been able to find out about the Camp layout by hacking around the Internet, and is about to share what little he knows when a new arrival joins them.
> “Hello chaps! Lovely mornin’ for a stroll in the park, eh?”
The cheerful greeting feels out of place at first, though on further thought Andy realizes that the only thing somber and serious about the situation is himself. Well, and maybe Naveed.
He looks over the new arrival carefully, seeing nothing remarkable about him except for an exceptionally laid-back attitude and the incredibly goofy grin. Does everyone in New York strike up conversations with strangers like this? he wonders idly… but the truth is the lanky brunette looks like the sort of kid who does precisely that. Andy’s a little jealous… even before his mutation had kicked in, he’d never been at ease around people the way this kid seemed to be.
The grin is somewhat infectious, and Andy returns it without quite meaning to, feeling more relaxed in this kid’s presence than he has since his arrival in Manhattan. "I guess," he replies, gauging his speed-factor by watching how quickly a falling leaf falls towards the ground.
Without realizing it, Andy has turned around to face Cameron, allowing the semi-map of the Camps he has in his hands to be seen.
Cameron's grin vanished almost immediately. He could clearly see what all the fuss was about.
That looks like a map of those mutant camps, he thought bitterly. He had heard about that stupid law and the camps. That's why he had tried to remain inconspicuous until now. He still didn’t' know why he was talking to these strange people.
Cameron had watched too many war movies to not see what they were planning. The map looked like a battle schematic. But why? This was a pointless expedition. They were probably going to fail. And what business is it of theirs to try and act like the hero?
The realization hit him like a steel bar. These were mutants too.
Tell me everything! Cameron half commanded the plants in the area. While the plants twittered away, he managed to deduce that his hypotheses was correct. Sir Twitch-a-Lot? What did that mean?
Cameron shrugged the thought out of his mind and before he realized that he had opened his mouth he had muttered something to the guy that had half shown him the map.
"I know what you are... and I want to know how I can help..."
Andy tenses, ready to fight or flee, as those words slowly crawl past him.
He’s been worrying about something like this, some anti-mutant agent tracking him down, since he started getting actively involved in the mutant scene… though he’d been thinking more in terms of a tall serious-looking man in a black suit wearing sunglasses than a cute lanky stoner kid. His parents had made a huge fuss over the possibility, and had made it perfectly clear to him that the exception that was made for him with respect to the Camps wasn’t the sort of thing that would stand up to challenge… he had to keep a low profile to be safe, and if there’s one thing he wasn’t doing right now, it was keeping a low profile.
He’d accepted the possibility… or at least, he’d thought he had… but that doesn’t stop him from panicking when it seems to be manifesting in front of him.
However, once the initial rush of adrenalin is over and Andy starts thinking clearly again, he realizes he’s being ridiculous… no way is this kid involved in any kind of law enforcement. He grins in relief – his ability generally makes conversation more difficult, but every now and then it comes in handy to have a few extra subjective minutes to think about something before speaking.
And sure enough, after a pause that feels like it goes on forever but was probably just meant for emphasis, the kid continues…
> “…and I want to know how I can help..."
Is the kid a mutant, himself? That would be awfully cool. Even if not, he might be of use… Andy’s willing to take all the help he can get at this point. On his notepad is still the note he’d just written to Naveed before Sebastian and his new girlfriend left, what feels like hours ago… “Assemble team. Break in. Rescue X-Men. Profit. What can you do?”… which seems good enough for the purpose; he shows the note to Naveed, then hands it to Cameron.
"I think if we're going to do it we should do it." said Naveed gruffly. "The sooner the better while we've all got the drive and stanima." he gazed down at the map. "I saw my sister yesterday and I don't want her to spend one more night... I say we should strike... tonight." He wasn't thinking of how he was wording his words... but thankfully nothing was coming out as an order or they'd all suddenly feel compelled to charge the camps braveheart style.
There was something otherworldly about Naveed and his warrior nature was starting to shine through. Normally so quiet in the back towering over them with nothing to say and now he seemed like a real leader. Infact he was aready holding his spear by his side. He was still dressed in the clothed vibe had given him and he shamefully thought to himself that he needed to change.
His thoughts drifted to Sapphire for a moment, he wondered if she staged a break out of her own. Then he turned his attention back to Andy. "Well speedy, you in? Do this your style. Quick."
