The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

After another performance of a mutants powers, a quick streak of green and black filled Markus's sight momentarily. Startled at first by the swiftness of the oddity, Markus's right arm flinched about an inch for his gun, but was stopped by his common sense. This isn't a Vietcong ambush, relax. Markus's mentality reminisced on the past, reminding him of threats similar, but ones that actually had no thoughts in mind but to kill him, unlike the situation he faced now.
After the reptilian like beast spoke, Markus took his quaint little attempt of intimidation as a bit of an inspiration for his plan he had already been formulating. "More potential and enthusiasm, good to see more of that around here." Markus took the beasts slight pandering with a grain of salt. Political opposition and mud slinging had hardened Markus to the thought of taking offense to anything, even being eaten alive.
"You seem to be quite the example of an apex predator." Markus said to somewhat soften the tension that had been thrown upon him by the beast. He then turned his attention back to the rest of the group as he spaced out from his original stand point to get in view all those who now crowded in the foyer. "If you'd rather not show me your ability, that's fine, what matters is if you can trust me. Believe me when I say that I am sure we all know what having powers like these means." Markus spoke as he gestured to Aura, Abyss and the Beast like reptilian as he continued to speak.
"It gives us an upper hand, and no one in the world should dare blame any of us for using them to better our own lives. But there is still one thing that can be achieved through all of them. One refined, centralized idea, that all is possible through the combined unison of you all. Together you could, topple governments, open the skies, and so much more than just rob a pathetic governments federal funds."
"Not to say you already haven't done those things, but trust me when I say that I can help further your dreams, trust me when I say that I can clear away any opposition that may seem intangible to you in the ignorant society of today's more political aspect of the world, trust me when I say, that I can get things done."
After a brief demonstration of her brother’s strength he informed her who the new wannabe cop was. Vagabond was his name according to her brother. His name alone suggests a freelancer. Syn allowed the frisking to continue if it helped put others at ease.
Markus returned a response to Abyss’ question though all it showed was that Markus had some people under his authority. He then restated his ability, but what the man still hadn’t grasped was that most of the people gathered had already worked together. Each knew what the other could do and so everything worked out without even having to be a strategist.
All this mundane chat was broken up by the sudden arrival of something Syn could only initially guess was a Stalker robot. It moved the same, looked very similar and used a similar tactic as when they had come under attack during the Registration Act. Syn clinched her fists and took a calming breath once she was able to see the creature more in detail. It wasn’t a Stalker thankfully, and it spoke as if it had been listening in the whole time.
Markus started up again in typical politician manner. Everything he said were things Syn was already aware of in regards to what they could do. “My dear Markus, no one will ever fully trust a politician. That being said, I will only believe you more once you prove yourself. Words mean nothing compared to actions.”
"Ha, how true that is. " Markus quickly chimed in after Syn finished her sentence, the sincerity of his laugh in the sentence was more realistic than anything he had ever said in that room so far. "If that's all you needed, then I would be more than happy to oblige. How about a set of arms or other military equipment? I'm sure it would prove useful for mutants who lack the athletic prowess that people such as Mr. Abyss or my agile friend here possess." Offering now the weapons he had planned to arm his more, radical party members with, he thought these people would find them quite more useful.
"Of course the weapons would be free of charge, but I am sure people of your fine caliber could get a hold of weapons any time of the day, so perhaps something a bit more in your favor, any thoughts Ms. Syn?" Markus asked politely, readily awaiting his task and to finish it with haste.
Joe’s motorcycle slowed to a stop as he pulled to the side of the street opposite the giant golden doors. Flicking down the kickstand he laid his bike down on it and looked towards the ostentatious doors, it had been a few months since that girl Aura had helped him out in a pinch with a few drunken fools in an alley but this wasn't the first time Joe had stopped at the alleged mutant safe haven. The few times he had come before he always turned away before getting to the steps, the prospect of joining some pro-mutant organization was to much for him to accept, heck he wasn’t even really comfortable with the fact that he was a mutant yet now was he gonna be around a bunch of mutants that openly flaunted it. Stepping off his bike Joe adjusted his form fitting black t-shirt as his blue jeans fell back into place over his gray boots.
Joe made his way towards the golden doors he tried to resist the urge to light up a cigar and go get another drink but considering how many times he had gone head to head with some anti-mutant extremists now he needed to at the least see what this Sanctuary place had to offer, maybe something useful could come from it. Joe stopped in front of the golden doors for a moment looking up at them he wondered for a moment what could be on the other side and reaching out he knocked loudly before gripping onto the handle and pulling the door open. From what he had gathered from Aura the place was open for any mutant to just walk in so that was exactly what Joe was gonna do and stepping in Joe stopped dead in his tracks as he was met by way larger a group then he had expected to be hanging around the front door.
Joe instantly started to assess the situation his mind slipping into a combat mindset easily getting prepared incase Joe’s presence was not as welcomed as Aura had made it seem like it would be. Joe quickly scanned all the people standing around he took note: old man low threat, black widow girl low threat, big red high threat, Aura moderate threat, bow girl low threat, wifebeater low threat, ugly alien thing.... Joe’s hands quickly crystalized forming his clawed gauntlets as his eyes landed on the psychotic freak that Joe encountered his first day back in New York. Joe unconsciously shifted his feet preparing to have to fight his way out and his fists clenched at his sides his eyes glaring at the monster he kept his awareness incase one of the others tried to make a move first. This wasn’t a Sanctuary, it was a vipers nest and Joe had just fallen into it.
A quick burst of wind and the sound of what seemed to be glass shattering filled the room, Markus turned around slowly to look and behold a man who held what appeared to be boxing gloves topped off with knives made of some type of quartz perhaps. "More helpful people Ms. Syn?" Markus turned his head around to look at her in his question. "You seem as though your somewhat threatened." Markus looked back at the man who had now opened the doors, talking to him in a monotone voice.
"Bad timing maybe?" Markus continued to wonder what was going on.
She could not recall her name, but one look at the man and she knew who he was and also knew just how poor the man's timing was. Aura quickly cleared the room untill she was at the man's side. "Crystal Here is all right, I met him in an Alley and we eliminated a few stupid humans who thought they could handle us." She said with a smile, glancing at the Crystal Man again. She hoped he was prepared for what he just walked into.
"However as his entrance has highlighted., perhaps discussing such matters in the openness of the foyer may be a poor plan of action" she said as a way of suggesting they find somewhere more private. This area was frequented by anyone who called the place home and this was starting to sound more and more like order business as most of the people assembled were in deed of the order.
SHe stroked the top of the Skunk's head as she looked around at the others waiting to see their reactions.
Aurion turned his large head to face the opening doors. Tilting his head he tried looked at the man who had walked in. The man looked around the room, taking a moment to focus on each person one at a time. When he finally looked at Aurion recognition was plain on his face. It wasn't until the man made his hands become glass-like (at least to Aurion that's how it had seemed before) that Aurion recognized him.
Aurion's face nearly lit up as he blurted, "Glass-man!" And chuckled showing teeth. he would have said more but the pink girl beat him to it. He was patient as the girl spoke and explained their first encounter, which seemed to have gone much better than his. When the girl finished Aurion nodded to her then looked at the glass-man again, but spoke to the others in the room. "Me'n him had fun Christmas. Little fight. Good time, yes?"
Turning back to the others. "Not best place true. But rude leave him alone." It was true, especially with the way he walked into Sanctuary, but who knows what he might have overheard. He also didn't seem too comfortable at the moment, and they were in Sanctuary, for all mutants. He looked at the man again and smirked, "Sanctuary," He spread his hands, "For us, all of us. Bring no trouble, all good here. Truce?"
(OOC: Moving the thread to the recreational area for part 2)
Nodding at Aura's suggestion Syn thought for a moment and selected a place that wouldn’t expose any vital areas of Sanctuary to Markus or the new arrival as they hadn’t earned enough trust for such things. Moving over to Lisa’s desk she made a request. The woman agreed and made an announcement that the recreation area was going to be down for maintenance and everyone would be notified once the area is reopened. With that taken care of the rec room was now sealed off with exception to Order members and those they wished to allow inside with them.
“Let us move this gathering to a place less open to unwanted ears.” Syn gestured towards the rec room which she knew the Order members would know the way and could guide those less familiar with Sanctuary.
