The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

In youth there is potential, passion, and perseverance. Each to form a double edged sword in life, to better it or better it for lesser means. To do away with the intolerance that plagues humanity, to relish greed from the minds of men who seek it, and to recover true essence of humanity. But in favor of those who have long since been in the company of shadows and lingering evils, there is but one advantage in youth. That being, control.
"In youth, there is much that can be found I assure all of you, and in it of great value, is opportunity. I hope I have made an impression on all of you here today and seek to further establish a lasting understanding of the Conformatist political party, the campus will have pamphlets and other information on the benefits of joining the party, it was nice speaking to you all."
Markus was then preceded by the dean of the university and announced off the stage as the students that had been gathered in the auditorium clapped for him once more. Markus found joy in giving speeches like these to teenagers. They all seemed so easily passionate for things, and able to gain reason from Markus's speeches about his Political party. No note cards, no paper, and no Que cards. Markus had fabricated this speech like so many others and had made a joy out of it. Soon the University would be paved over with propaganda posters for the Conformatist party and Markus would gain more support.
Markus now made his way to the library to further propagate the region.
"Together We Will Not Be Broken!", a quote that now lay with the rest of the propaganda and writings spread throughout the Library. Markus all too familiar with it sits at a round table with a coffee in hand and a book on the table that has his gaze ensnared. "The Art of War" was it's title, a book far renowned for it's legacy. Sure Markus had read it previously 3 times before, but this among other books kept a tight grasp on his mind.
But Markus wasn't here to read he was here to observe, observe others reaction to the propaganda lined areas and other forms of Conformatist literature strewn about. He overheard conversations, he saw people reading the pamphlets with interest, he saw, another generation to be used. But in the back of his head and to the left his head, he heard someone who was much more adept to political studies and deduced Conformatism for what it was.
"This guy is just some kind of puppet master trying to brainwash us." The adolescent said with a whisper. But his attempt to conceal his attitude towards the commercialism of Conformatism was vein. After all the worst case scenario when jumping on a lions tail would be to awaken it, and he had done just that.
"I see you're a bit skeptic?" Markus said aloud through the silence and whisper of the teenager and gazed him down as he turned to face the boy.
The student looked frightened by Markus's addressing of him. "Why don't you both come over here for a second." The two lambs soon approached the proverbial slaughterhouse of political ambition that awaited them. They sat away from the beast now staring them down like a bull in the streets of Spain.
"You know I am not that fond of political advertising either, sure it looks to be something of deceptive nature, but not all political views intend to harm the reader or pull him to a cause that is greatly opposed." "I just.." The boy tried to reply as his friend looked on in silence of shyness. He was then interrupted. "Don't worry, I use to think politicians were all the same, money grubbing, self indulged, etc."
In a quick hush of silence, Markus pulled from his suit coat a picture of him when he still had hair and with other marines in front of a temple in Vietnam. "They are what my ideals are based off." He said as he showed the picture to the two. "I lived life as a soldier, and what I've seen in combat has been burned into my brain and can never be taken from my mind. I had to tell the last words of one of the best soldier I ever serviced with to his only son. I don't want a world where men have to tell others that their fathers, sons or friends had been killed, I want a world where men can find joy in being one. No hatred, no intolerance, just the wholesome brotherhood of men to work together to fulfill the dreams of one another."
Markus put the picture away as the two men gazed down at the table in shame. "Don't be sorry, people may call you both naive, but you are just curious, feel free to consult anyone in the conformatist party for any further information, I hope I changed your minds." Markus spoke as he headed out of the library and into the parking lot into his car.
If that isn't the most heartfelt ruse I have ever done, those kids already have strings, you just need to pull em. Markus thought to himself as he backed out he opened his dashboard compartment and tossed the picture from Vietnam in with around 4 other pictures with different soldiers he had served with in different areas. They always buy it, cause youth is easy to corrupt, and a most useful tool.
