The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Another day in the lab, and yet another evening to decide if the commute home was worth waiting for dinner or dishing out a few bucks to grab a slice of NYC thin crust pizza. It wouldn't be enough for dinner, but could ease the pain of waiting through traffic. With a rumble rooted in his abdominal, the decision was made without questioning the incentive.
There was a mighty fine pizza parlor near Central Park. The view was breathless if one was able to catch it without the clogged up street full of cars. Still, even with lighter traffic patterns, it was pleasing to the eye. The best part about the little eatery had to be by far the option to sit outside at one of the few little tables. With a fresh breeze and the smells whiffing out at you, there was nothing in comparison.
Pushing the door open to the pizza parlor, he could already see the inside tables filled with a mix between older kids and adults consuming this delightful treat. The wait in the line wasn't to bad, fairly quick honestly. This was a good thing, one he could eat sooner and two he could sit down and relax for a bit before fighting the city traffic again.
Armed with a slice of good old fashion plain cheese pizza, Eion made his way back outside and sat down at one of the free tables. Relaxing back into the chair, his feet crossed at the ankles as the sun shone down upon his face. "Mmmmm."

Sometimes Skydancer wanted to hide what she was and blend in with the humans around her and sometimes she didn't. There had been a time, not so long ago, when she wanted to always blend in and eliminate her purple skin entirely. Some positive encounters with a couple other visible mutants, however, had changed her opinions. That and the fact that she had recently applied to work at a circus, a place where her unusual appearance was actually like to work in her favour rather than against her. Confidence was the thing she had been lacking in recent years, ever since she had changed, and confidence was the thing she was finally starting to win back.
Skydancer had spent the last several hours at the circus training facilities and now all she wanted to do was perch herself on a nice tree and read a book. Now that's what being a mutant was all about. What good were super powers if you couldn't use them for your own comfort and amusement, after all? It was the little things that really made life living sometimes and she intended to fully embrace those things.
Being a beautiful sunny day, Skydancer decided that, for once, she was going to go out into the world in all her mutant glory and simply ignore every single stare she received, which is exactly what she did. She still put on her blond wig, something she had become rather fond of, but opted against her usual long jacket. It was simply too nice for that. She put her book in her pocket and made her way to central park, where she proceeded to scope out a sufficiently large tree. Once found, she waited for a quiet moment and then allowed to tubes to pierce her skin from her shoulders. Up the tubes went, curling around a nice sturdy branch and up she went after them, the tubes easily supporting her weight until she was secure on her perch.
Once in the tree, Skydancer took out her book and began reading, happier than she had been in a long while. She wasn't certain how long had gone by before she felt a tickling sensation on one of her hands. A small scream and a startled jump and the little furred critter complete with bushy tail, fell from from the tree and onto the table of the pizza parlor a dozen feet below her. Twitching its little squirrelly nose, it stared with little squirrelly eyes at the brown haired man peacefully eating his pizza at the table.
The slice of pizza was heaven sent. There was something about freshly baked pizza from a mom and pops store. Things like this just never taste the same in the big chains. Crispy crust, cheese filled crust, high rise crust...the big guys could say whatever they desired to try and seduce him into their particular oven style, but it never hit the spot like something like this. The amount of grease on the pie was perfect to, not to much and certainly not dry. It was important to have that little bit of juice on it, there was a flavor to it that often was lost in other places. Dry pizza just wasn't nice. The only way to counter balance that would be to order extra sauce, but then the cheese sloshes about on the pie and well, things just never ended up right.
Putting the slice down on the paper plate, his eyes drifted out towards Central Park. One day he would walk through there and enjoy the sights, but today was out of the question. This was just a short stop right now, a little snack to hold him over till a real dinner could be cooked. Still, the park did seem very tempting. Knowing him though, he could get himself lost in there for a long period of time, or leave it in a rush if to many squirrel's were about. A shame such small creatures were so crippling to him. Unreasonable fear, possibly, but with reason anyone else could feel the same exact way. Lifting the slice up to his mouth, his lips wrapped around the warm treat. It was while he was mid bite, his heart ceased to beat. Technically it thumped along just fine, but from the feelings he felt in his body, Eion couldn't tell the difference.
Two tiny eyes were staring right up at him. Helpless creatures, anything but that. This was an evil monster of tiny size. Picking up the first thing he could get a grip of, that was except the pizza he was attempting to eat, Eion tossed it at the squirrel utterly missing. The little rodent moved so quick, but didn't seem willing to leave him just yet. Opening his mouth wide, Eion did the second most sensible thing, shove as much of the slice into his mouth possible.
