The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Nika had been listening to the little conversation even though she was investigating Geo's dwelling. She turned to look at him. "You mean before your mutation kicked in right? I can only partially imagine what that is like. See, I was born this way." Nika gestured with her hands as if she were a game show girl displaying a prize.

Calley
Calley tilted his head, looking between them. For himself, he was like Geo--his had just started kicking in one day. One morning, to be more specific: he'd woken up distinctly smaller and furrier than he'd remembered going to bed.
"How'd your parents react? And your friends, and stuff?" He asked curiously of them both. "And what happens if you lose the gloves, Tristan?"
Geo pulled himself to sit on the counter. "Well ican't really control my powers yet and to be honest...we're lucky i didn't launch us into the air or something. My parents we're shocked to no end they hate our kind. And i actually hurt a couple of people when my mutation kicked in, not to mention i leveled half the school."
A sad expression crassed Nika's face as the question about how her parents reacted reached her ears. "My parents got rid of me at birth and I haven't really had many friends until recently."

Calley
Calley scritched Nika behind the ears again--he didn't really deal with depressed people well, but he'd found that he could make people less depressed, sometimes. Mostly by just being his usual stupid self. "Those weren't your parents, Nika. They were your blood, but they weren't your parents. Parents don't do that." He leaned against the kitchen counter, and took a sip from his pop. "I've got a dad who isn't a dad, too. It happens. It's okay--friends are the ones you can count on, anyway." He grinned at her. "Not that I'm all that reliable, but I hear I can be good for comic relief, sometimes. If you ever want to hang out and maybe beat up some parent effigies, I'm your man. You too, Geo." He nodded to the man.
Geo smiled, "Thanks man," He said and couldn' t help but fight a large yawn. This happened whenever he used his powers. They seemed to drain him dry, he took another long swig of his drink and sat it on the counter standing up. He looked up the stairs where he new that there was a comfy bed waiting. "Look guy's your free to stay if you want," He glanced over to Nika. "But i'm exausted and need some sleep."
Calley stifled a yawn himself. That's what happened when you watched other people yawn--the things were freaking contagious.
"Thanks for the offer; think I'm gonna take off, though. I've got some places I could probably crash 'round here." The Sanctuary, his apartment, Mondragon Labs, and any place he felt like, really. "See you around." He gave a little wave to them both, and headed out, orange pop in hand. 'Pop' had always sounded more fun than 'soda' to him, anyway.
