The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

...continued from Dakota's pent House
Ic:
As the Limo came to a stop Raina shuttered looking out the window and the destrcution the girls had done to the park. She silently hoped Ali had gotten back to the mansion. She opened the door and stepped out. "So what now?" she asked putting her hands on her hips and looking at Dakota. She didn't like the way the park felt with all the humans driven away. It was dead and quiet. Like a graveyard.
Dakota stepped out of the limo with a box in his hand. "Time for the first test." he said. He placed a stool on the grass. He then put a glass of water on the stool. HE made sure that the stool was 10 feet from Raina. He then did the same with another stool and glass 20 feet away. And 30 feet away, and 40, and 50. He then turned to her. "Freeze the water in the glasses." he said. He wasn't sure if she could do it. He needed to test her on a few things. 1)Distance of her powers' effectiveness. 2)Strength. 3)Speed. 4)Control.

Raina shot him a look. "I'm not your servant, and I haven't agreed to what you're offering. A 'please' would be nice." she growled and closed her eyes frustrating. This man's arrogance was driving her insane. Why was she so flustered with him to begin with. When she opened her eyes and saw those blue ones staring back at her, she blushed and mentally cursed.
Raina opened her mouth, and once again, Raina began to sing. Everything was dead quiet except raina's voice. It was beautiful. It was haunting. It was transfixing. Like looking into a pool of swirling colours, Raina's voice was captivating.
As it raised in pitch so the temperature around her dropped. As she sang her haunting tune, a little film of ice creeped across the water in the first glass. Then, Raina stopped exhausted. That was it. That was all she could do.
Despite the frustration she was feeling toward Dakota, her frustrations at her powers won. She kicked the ground and shoved her hands in her pocket. "It used to be imrpessive before you got to me." she shrugged, her face still red.
"Okay. So that's what you can do without me." Dakota said with a smirk. He then gave Raina more than enough energy to freeze the water. "Try again with my help" he said.

"I need some warning before you do that again!" shot Raina as he filled her full of energy. Her hair split at the roots again and went from the beautiful red to a dark blue. Her skin became pale and her lips and eyes became blue.
She opened her mouth and let the notes flow. It was all so easy. She willed the water to freeze and it did. Then she willed it to shatter... and it did. Then she coaxed it, with an intoxiacting voice that even Dakota would have felt... and she watched the Ice form a path between herself and Dakota in which she hovered across to him.
She wasn't herself when he pumped her full of his energy. It was dangerous and risky. She wasn't timid. She was strong. So was her ability. She stopped singing. Her confidence was boosted... and with his energy she had a different air about her.
Dakota looked her in the eyes. His could see her power level. "Are you familiar with Mutant Levels? Levels 1-5. 5 being an Omega-Level Mutant. If you are interested in knowing, I'll tell you your level." Dakota had seen her energy-level the first time he saw her and knew she had potential. That is why he wants to train her. She is the one he was looking for. The One.

"What's the point?" said raina shrugging. " A Mutant's a mutant regardless of any number." forgetting about his power Raina touched him in a flirty way on the cheek. She felt nothing. Her hands were very cold. She remembered then what Dakota could do and she pulled her hand back. "Why didn't your skin zap me?" she asked knowing that he probably didn't know either. She searched her thoughts. Was it because his energy was already temporarily inside of her? Or was this something new because of their mixed powers?
It didn't matter, because as the small energy he had given her faded and her hair and abilities went back to normal... Raina quickly reached out to touch him again but this time felt her energy drain away. She pulled her hand back. "What was that?" she asked knowing hed be as shocked as she was.
Dakota heard her question and decided to answer. "As long as it's my personal energy inside of you, my absorbtion con will not affect you. And as for your level, you are a level 4. Almost a level 5 and you have enough potential to overwhelm most mutants. You just need to learn to control your powers, so I'm going to teach you a skill." He then looked around and found a nice tree for them to sit under. They both sat cross-legged and Dakota started talking. "I want you to close your eyes. We're going to do a form of meditation and it involves visualization. You need to visualize the air. Then see water appearing. Very Slowly, watch the water appear in your mind to make a blob. Then form it into a ball of ice. Watch it harden and freeze. See it and feel it. Then I want you to visualize my face beside the ball of ice. Manipulate the ice to form into a replica of my face."

Raina followed Dakota a little wearily to the tree and sat underneath. She thought to herself, she may be able to use that against him if she needed to... absorbing his powers. How did this guy know everything anyway? She sat down. She was tired but did as Dakota suggested. She focused. Nothing happened.
She tried harder. She really pictured everything in her head.
Nothing.
She opened her mouth again... the music filled the air.
There was something rare and unsettling about Raina when she sang. She was captivating but looked almost unearthly. Though beautiful... it was also terrifying. You could see the potential for power. You could see the ability passed down through the ages.
Slowly but surely as she sang a ball of ice formed infront of Dakota. It spiralled in the air and glittered in the sun. Raina stopped singing and it dropped in his lap.
"Dakota, I'm tired. Even if you keep pumping me full of your energy... I'm still exhausted from trying to do this." she was timid and shy again. Not the way she was when she had his energy in her. She wasn't sure if she liked herself with his energy.
Dakota hadn't at all expected her to actually make the ice look like his face. He had just said that to challenge her to get as close to that as possible. She had done just what he had wanted; made a ball of ice. "From what I have heard about you, you can only make ice out of water. But you made it straight out of thin air. Exactly what I wanted. And you didn't even need my energy." He then saw her energy'level weaken considerably and touched the ice to take out it's energy. He then transferred it to Raina. It wasn't his own energy so she wouldn't be impervious to his skin-touch absorbtion. He realized it was stupid to have given her his own energy earlier, even if it was only a little. His energy was so powerful from never being used that it could get some people drunk on power. Not Good.

Raina gave a sigh. "Look, it's cool that with your energy I can do much stronger things with my powers... but I'd like to get better the old fashioned way..." she looked down and a little embaressed. "hard work." she wasn't sure if she believed it when she said it.
"Well," Dakota said. "I need an answer. Will you join my cause? You won't have to do anything, youll only have to continue your life as normal until I called on you." Dakota then started to look around. People were coming into the park now. His friend must have goten tired. It was reasonable. He realized he had to go soon. He waited for an answer.
