The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Void walked around central park until finnally becoming bored and deciding to sit down on a bench. Once on the bench, he started to think about the past, the present, and what might happen in the future. He lost all track of time, not sure if hours or minutes had gone by. Insnictively he shifted his arm to the arm of the bench. As soon has hand touched the metal has powers went off and the bench disentagrated from under him, leaving him to fall into the grass. He quickled looked around, hoping no one saw him.
Void blankly stared at him, carefully listening to what he said. He stood up, brushing the grass off his green t-shirt. "Look, i dont who you are are what your looking for, but it would be unwise of you to start a fight. And the answer to your question, you do whats right...." Void started at him, his gaurd up incase he tried to attack. He could obviously tell by the mans red skin that he was a mutant, but was he good or evil?
"But the question behind the question," Cassiel said, from where he'd stood unseen on the other side of Void, "Is what is 'right', exactly, in that situation?" His eyes glowed gold as he watched the situation, but he seemed to be putting the question more to Abyss than to Void.
Cass quirked an eyebrow. This one was... strange. He had to try to listen to all of the different voices, making sure none of them were getting ready to attack him (not that that particularly frightened him), and wondering idly if this man could exist like this and not be insane from the contradictory voices.
"And which route have you chosen? Do you defend those who hate you, or destroy those who hate you?" In all honesty, Cassiel wasn't sure what his answer would be. Certainly, the humans on the street might hate him, and he'd still save them... but he'd destroyed ones who hated him, as well... and others had suffered the consequence.
Void watched as the a stranger joined the argument and he watched with intrest as they talked back and forth. The argument seemed to be getting no where and as they kept talking it became more and more apparent that Abyss was drunk. He frowned, as he knew a drunk mutant with these theories was far from safe. "Destroy anyone in your way, laugh at the death of humans? There is more than one way towards being good or evil and there is no definite line that seperates the two, but at times you can certainly tell which side a person is on. I find it my duty to protect inoccents, whether they be hateful humans or perhaps other mutants. To protect them, it is necessary to dispose of those who are evil..." Void knew this speech had the chance of starting a fight, but he didn't care. He wasn't certain if abyss was evil or not, but he knew even a good mutant being drunk was a potential threat.
Mike just shook his head. "Well said," he thought to Void. He glanced at the bolts and various remnants of the bench, and gave Void a sympathetic nod. "If you need help... with your power or otherwise... the doors at Xavier's are always open." He nodded toward Abyss as well... he'd just picked up the mental trail he'd been searching for. "Either of you. Ask for Cassiel."
Void watched as Cassiel flew away, thinking over his offer for a second before turning back to Abyss. He smirked as he heard his comment. "Its been awhile since ive had a fight and i do need a lot of practice. With that said, lets fight....." Void continued to look at him for a second before kneeling down and placing his hand on the ground. He concentrated and finally the ground began to disengrate from under it and the disengration snaked its way towards Abyss. His goal was to get Abyss to fall into a large hole, but he knew that he was probably smart enough to simply step out of the way.
The thought came from a solitary individual a ways off from the two opposing mutants. Sitting on the grimy wooden bench Simon placed his elbows on his knees and steepled his fingers as he got ready to take the role of observer.
He had arrived in America a few weeks ago and after asking around and interrogating the local street trash the young man had found that for some reason mutants tended to congregate around the in the city of New York. Simon had wasted no time in packing his bags and using the funds he had acquired in Europe to procure a relatively comfortable upper class apartment on the west side of the city. With a base of operations established the mutant had proceeded to try and find an employer for his unique abilities, preferably one that tended to work in the shadow of the law. However he had run into a few difficulties; while he had ascertained that New York was a veritable buffet for shady characters contacting them was another matter entirely.
So Simon had been forced to play the waiting game as he wandered the city searching for someone who had both low morals and the income to pay his rather high fees, and at last it seemed as though he had gotten some kind of a lead.
The crimson mutant, while obviously inebriated, showed the precise lack of morals that Simon was searching for in an employer. If scarlet fiend managed to come out on top in this scrap then Simon would take the opportunity to question him.
For now though, he was simply an observer.

Void barely saw the kick coming and he tried to step out of the way, but he was to late and the kick still skimmed him in the side which caused him major pain because of his lack of body strength. He fell to his knees. Thinking quickly, he placed his hand on the ground right infront himself and made a large hole that he fell into. Moaning as he got up, he placed his hand on a side of the hole facing jupiter and started to disentagrate a tunnel that he walked through as he created it, clutching his side the whole way. He made twists and turns under ground, hoping that jupiter wouldnt know where he was and waiting for the right moment to strike.
A shallow breath escaped the observers lips as his azure eyes watched the actions of those before him. The two, or perhaps he should say three, had demonstrated interesting abilities, both of which could be lethal in the right circumstances. However they both seemed to share a distinct weakness; a lack of range, as long as one could maintain at least five meters of separation there was no threat and for someone with Simon's abilities this was no problem at all.
'Hmm? That was rather short' the wind elemental mused as he watched the paler of the two challengers vanish into a subterranean tunnel, supposedly to escape the battle and leave the area all together. Whatever the mans reasons it mattered not to Simon, now was the time to abandon his role as observer and take an active role in this diminutive drama.
Rising from his seat Simon took a brief moment to scan his surroundings for any signs activity; it wouldn't do if another unexpected visitor arrived to ruin the only opportunity he'd had so far. Seeing no one and nothing suspicious the wind elemental adopted a swift yet graceful walk that took him inside the crimsons fiends hearing range while at the same time maintaining a safe distance from any sudden actions, the man was drunk after all.
Using a polite yet indifferent tone he had mastered on suspicious locals in the crowded cities of Europe Simon addressed the man, "Pardon me for interrupting but if I may have a moment of your time there is something I would like to discuss..." he trailed off and awaited the mans response, if there was any sign of hostility Simon would not hesitate to take flight.
Cafas: "Zephyr is the king of bad decisions, but if Sebby being weak to ghost is anything to go by, not so amazing at follow through."
The elementals eyes darted to his right as the flash of another portal signaled the entrance of a new contender, another clone it seemed, yet this one appeared far more level headed than its originator. Simon gave this newcomer a nod of his head and if he'd had a hat he would have tipped it, sadly though such an item was missing from his inventory... Closing his eyes for an instant Simon filled his lungs and cleared his mind; hats were not important right now, he could purchase scores of them at later date if necessary, but for now he had other matters to attend to.
Fixing his eyes upon this new clone Simon considered his words, a response was needed, that much was certain, but as of yet Simon saw no need to trust the crimson figure or his clones. The elemental was not such a novice that he didn't recognize a possible distraction, so when he turned his gave upon Pluto and gave his reply he made certain to keep both Jupiter and Abyss in his peripheral vision.
"If time is of the essence then I will make my request short, like you I was born with a unique gift. In order to make the best of my abilities I am in search of an affluent employer, preferably one whose morals would be considered...lacking, by the rest of society. Do you have knowledge of such a person?"
Cafas: "Zephyr is the king of bad decisions, but if Sebby being weak to ghost is anything to go by, not so amazing at follow through."
Extending his own hand Simon allowed a brief smile to form on his features as a small, but powerful wind snagged the offered card out of the red mutants hand and into the elementals own. Taking a moment to appreciate the gold leaf design on the front Simon raised an eyebrow at the mention of the Sanctuary.
'Sanctuary, where have I heard that name before?' he turned the question over in his mind for a moment or two until the answer crept to the front of his consciousness. 'Ah yes, the large building with the rather ornate doors, the very place all the local street gangs seem to avoid, I had thought it merely an over funded homeless shelter. I suppose I shouldn't be surprised the place had an ulterior motive.'
Lifting his eyes the elemental returned his gaze to Pluto and incline his head, "Aybss was it? Yes that was all I required, my thanks for your assistance."
Placing the card in his back pocket Simon gave a final glance to three crimson forms before turning away and exiting the area at a casual pace.
