Rebecca was two weeks into her first relationship ever. Her relationship with Agnes, the girl from the garden. The girl she accidentally flirted with and became embarrassingly awkward at the discovery of Agnes's sexuality. It took almost two and a half months for Rebecca to come to terms with the feelings Agnes inspired, but it was official: Agnes was her girlfriend.
And things were going well; the girls spent time together studying, meeting up for lunch or dinner, playing in the garden, and on occasion just enjoying each other's company quietly. The one thing that Rebecca would openly admit was the initial awkwardness they were working through. It was, after all, a friendship that became a relationship and that meant a transition. What situations were different? What was allowed or not allowed now?
Things were becoming more normal the more they realized just to act like they would have as friends-- except they were allowed to hold hands and kiss. (The kissing was still being taken slowly, mostly kept at kisses of greeting and farewell, or any time Agnes said something Rebecca thought was sweet. "Making out" would happen in its own time, she was sure.) Despite Rebecca lacking any blueprint for relationships, she imagined theirs was starting well.
There was just once thing they had to do. It had been two weeks and the right time never came up, but it was finally happening:
The first date.
Schedules had not given them an opportunity up until that point, but tonight they were going out. Rebecca had already gone through the first date of her life just before they started dating, but this was her first date with Agnes. Her first girlfriend date. And the nerves and jitters were still there.
Rebecca was not sure if there was an etiquette to who asked who out on a date, (especially with two girls,) so she was hesitant originally, but eventually she took a shot. She mentioned how much she'd like to go ice skating before spring weather came to stay for good. She asked Agnes if they could go and the plan was set. "It's a date!" she had said, smiling from ear to ear.
They were meeting outside of the Rockefeller Center at ten past seven because Rebecca was working until seven at the shop. Akshay had made comments that made Rebecca laugh and blush, which included comments on how she was "dolled up" for her date. Rebecca tried to dress nicely, with black tights, a light blue skirt, top, and jacket, as well as subtle eye shadow to match. She just wanted to be pretty for Agnes.
She ate dinner at work-- Chinese with Akshay-- so she was going into her date with a full stomach, which did nothing to stop her jitters. Her shift ended and she was out of the door within second of her clock-out.
Rebecca got their quickly, managing to be the first of the two there. Realizing she had a brief moment of time, she pulled a small compact mirror from her pocketbook and checked her hair and make-up to be sure she had not messed up either between then and the time she checked herself in the mirror at work. She pushed individual strands of hair from her face, trying to give herself a task that would keep her mind off of the upcoming date.
There were no words that could accurately describe the level of anxiety that Agnes had concerning tonight. Tonight was the night. THE night. The night that she had been both waiting for and fearing since that first magical night in the garden when Rebecca revealed her true feelings for her and she did the same in kind. It was the night that was probably just going to decide the rest of their relationship…or if they would even continue to have one; it was the night of their first official date.
Though Agnes was sure that she was putting far too much pressure on herself, she really could not help it. She had to admit, though, that the last two weeks had been as if they came from a dream. Rebecca was an even sweeter girlfriend than just being a friend. Their relationship shifted into a whole new aspect but they still managed to carry their same level of closeness and friendship with it. They talked, chatted, joked around, teased and played games; it was the type of relationship that Agnes had always dreamed of having.
And on top of it all, she was with a young woman with whom all others simply faded away. It was accurate to say that Agnes Nicholas was completely head-over-heels for Rebecca Grey, and she hoped that the feeling would continue.
But back to her recent stress, tonight was their first date. Agnes been curious about when this momentous event would come about but finding the right time made it extremely difficult: both worked and both went to school, that meant that having social lives was extremely difficult. This whole week alone Agnes was battling a bad case of ants in the flower beds! And with Rebecca working at that comic shop (which she DESPERATELY wanted to see!!), their schedules rarely meshed long enough for them to actually consider a real an true date.
Then Rebecca finally figured it out. One night she mentioned she would like to ice skate and asked if they could go together. Agnes agreed and the date was set! She figured she would have plenty of time to prepare and get herself in the correct mindset but before she knew it, the day was here. Now she will be battling nerves the rest of the evening because of how much she wanted things to be perfect.
Her bus slowly wound down to a stop and Agnes took a breath as she climbed out of her seat and descended out of the warm and “safe” confines of its interior. Having decided that she needed to be both warm and dressed cutely, Agnes had decided to settle in on a certain outfit. With Gina’s help she managed to find something that would be both casual, cute, and yet in excellent taste for a first date. Dressing up in nice, crisp pair of jeans and a low cut, equally blue top, Agnes also found an excellent, purple sweater that would both keep her warm and accent her curves. She hoped that it was an ensemble that Rebecca would enjoy.
She stepped onto the sidewalk and sighed as she took in the crisp, evening air. She was thankful that she decided on the sweater because she was sure that it was going to keep her nice and warm. Gently she adjusted the strap of her simple, purple purse held onto the straps as she strolled towards Rockefeller Center where she would be meeting Rebecca for ice skating.
Ice skating, the words sent a shiver down her spine. Agnes had never been skating before but she hoped she would not make herself out to look like too much of a fool.
But, swallowing those fears, the runaway moved closer to the ice skating rink and tried to keep her eyes open. She wondered if maybe she was the first to actually get here. Quietly she hummed as she began to wander, eyeing the people already gathered for her redheaded beauty…

Rebecca had reached the point where there was no strand she could move without that would make her hair better; in fact, she almost considered shaking her head wildly so it would become less perfect and her hands would have something to do. Instead, she found her phone from her pocketbook to check the time. There were still a few minutes before the time they said they might meet up. Rebecca played the Pac-Man game on her phone to pass the time and occupy herself.
While Rebecca was watching a yellow circle gobble dots and avoid ghosts, two men around her age approached her, one standing in front of her and the other leaning on the wall next to her. Rebecca looked up briefly; they were both tall and muscular, probably athletes. The one against the wall had short brown hair and a handsome face, but his friend was a redhead with unflattering features.
Assuming the men were waiting for someone as well, Rebecca returned her attention to the screen. Surprisingly, the brunette spoke to her. "So, are you here to skate?"
Rebecca looked up briefly and nodded with a smile. "Yup!" She looked back down to spot her yellow friend folding into himself, the victim of a successful specter assassination. She pouted; she would have to pay better attention.
"Fun. We're going skating too!"
This time keeping her focus on the screen, Rebecca replied, "Tha's nice." Her comment was genuine, but might have been interpreted as rude since she failed to make eye contact.
"Um, yeah. So are you skating alone? Because we'd be happy to hit the ice with you."
Rebecca smiled as Pac-Man ate one of the power balls that turned all the ghosts blue; it was time for sweet revenge. "Nae, Ah'm meeting someain here, but thank ye."
Rebecca decided to look up from her game again, reminding herself to survey the area. As luck would have it, she spotted Agnes getting close. The sight of her girlfriend put a wide smile on the Scot's face, and she hit the cancel button on her phone, ending the game she was occupying herself with.
Before the two young men could say anything more, Rebecca said, "Have a nice night!" and broke for Agnes.
She immediately threw her arms around Agnes's neck for a hug. "Ah'm so glad yoo're here!" She planted a peck on her lips and released the hug, looking at her girlfriend more closely. "Ye look so cute! Everyain's gonna be jealous of me," she teased with a wink. Agnes was absolutely lovely, even if she sometimes didn't give herself credit for it.
Ready to get the date under way, and considerably less nervous now that she was with Agnes, Rebecca offered her hand. "Shall we, hun?" Hun, of course a derivative from "honey," which was Rebecca's favored nickname for Agnes, considering their history.
Agnes stalked through the crowd that was already gathered at Rockefeller Center. It seemed that she and Rebecca were not the only people with this grand idea of trying to get ice skating in before the warm months came. People of all sizes, shapes, ages, and backgrounds wandered through, laughing and joking, talking and watching as they all continued on with their lives. Normally Agnes would not have cared but unfortunately all these people were keeping her from seeing if her girlfriend were anywhere around. She would hate to miss her but there were just too many people.
In thought she nibbled on her lip as he turned her head first left. Her blue eyes scanned the people and the faces wandered past her vision…
Guy with glasses reading a newspaper…two girls gigging and looking at a cell phone…trio of guys with pants that were WAY too low…Nope…not there…
She sighed as she turned to the right now…
Boy riding a skateboard…a mother carrying her sleeping child…a gorgeous redhead running at me at full force…
Wait, what?!
By the time Agnes realized what was happening, two pale arms laced around her neck and she had to gasped in both surprise and happiness. She giggled as the young Scot hugged her close and leaned in for a quick kiss. Agnes could do nothing but comply with it. After all, what type of person could possibly deny such a cutie like Rebecca?
Arms wrapping around the thin strawberry blonde’s waist, she beamed as she held the other girl close. Just seeing the girl seemed to fill her with a sense of reinvigoration. It was as if Rebecca had this aura about her that just filled her with an energy and joy the likes of which she never before experienced. It was intoxicating, to say the least.
>> "Ah'm so glad yoo're here! Ye look so cute! Everyain's gonna be jealous of me,"
Immediately Agnes felt that blush as it crept up and over her features. Meekly she tucked strands of hair behind her ear. She still was not used to openly receiving such comments from Rebecca. Of course she had wished for them before, but she never thought that it would actually happen. But now that it was, Agnes would only blush and smile. She never did give herself credit for her appearance, but she was happy that Rebecca thought in such a way about her. Not that she was shallow or anything, but it did make her heart soar to know that she could make herself pretty for Rebecca.
But the blush slowly lessened as she nodded and eyed the Scot’s own outfit.
“I’ll say everyone’s going to be jealous of you, just look at how you look!” she fawned and grinned. “Other girls can’t hold a candle to you. You look gorgeous.” She smirked a little as she leaned over and gave her another quick peck on the lips before she took her offered hand.
>> "Shall we, hun?
Agnes mentally chuckled at that little nickname. She knew exactly from where it have extended from and she could only blush and chuckle again. That was something that she was never going to live down, but then again…maybe she didn’t really want to. After all, it was an incident that lead to them getting closer together.
She finally nodded as she squeezed Rebecca’s hand.
“Of course, babe,” she said. As the pair of them began to walk towards the ice rink she gently nudged her. “How was work today? PLEASE tell me my next issue of Larva Girl came in?”

>> “I’ll say everyone’s going to be jealous of you, just look at how you look! Other girls can’t hold a candle to you. You look gorgeous.”
Rebecca blushed, looking her own appearance up and down. As modest as she was, she was happy to receive the compliment. She did, after all, arrange the outfit in the hope of being particularly pretty for Agnes. There was nothing Agnes could say however, that could convince Rebecca that she was not looking at the prettiest girl New York had ever seen.
"Yoo're sweet, but Ah know Ah coulds only take th' silver, coz Ah'm looking at the most beautiful girl at th' rink." Pleased with her turn in the compliment carousel, she took the hand offered to her and the two were off.
>> “How was work today? PLEASE tell me my next issue of Larva Girl came in?”
Rebecca laughed at her girlfriend's enthusiasm over a comic that suited her perfectly. "It came in and a copy's set aside fer ye. Ye can come pick it up tommorow, since, well," she fought the blood rushing to her cheeks and sighed, admitting, "tomorrow's promo day." Another promo day, which of course meant one thing: costumes.
More compliments were paid to her but Agnes refused to respond. After they started seeing each other, there was one incident which they complimented each other for the first time. It tired Agnes just thinking about it because it was an endless loop in which the both of them kept denying their own attractiveness in favor of the other. Considering that this was their first official date, the runaway refused to let themselves fall into that exhausting experience again.
…though mentally she knew that Rebecca was the prettier of the two.
Hand in hand, the duo moved towards the ice rink and Agnes began to feel a little nervous. Again the thoughts began to invade her mind which told her that she had no idea how to ice skate and that she was going to make a fool of herself. But Agnes fought those fears off. If she fell a couple of times, so what? That was how a person learned, right? Besides, it was not like Rebecca was going to leave her just because she didn’t know how to ice skate. That was be both silly and pretty shallow and the young Scot was neither of those things!
Well…maybe a little silly. But Agnes was the same way and enjoyed that immensely about her!
So, in order to distract herself from the upcoming show of her slipping and falling continuously, Agnes had turned the conversation to her comics. Rebecca worked in one of the fields that Agnes absolutely loved! She was in the business of comic books! Agnes did enjoy her comics immensely and now that she had someone on the inside of the business, she could further reap the rewards.
>> "It came in and a copy's set aside fer ye. Ye can come pick it up tommorow, since, well…tomorrow's promo day."
“Yaaay,” Agnes grinned as she squeezed Rebecca’s hand. She had scarcely had time to comprehend what Rebecca had said. Her comic had finally come in and she would be getting the first of the bunch! But slowly she began to realize what Rebecca had said…promo day?
Promo days. Rebecca had told Agnes about that. During the time when they were avoiding each other, Rebecca had to work on a promo day and for her particular comic shop, that meant that she had to dress up as a character from comic books! Apparently Rebecca had chosen Miracle Lass and Agnes had actually MISSED that. She wanted to beat herself up for doing such a fool thing but thankfully these days came around monthly.
But one look at Rebecca and Agnes knew that she was probably self-conscious about having to dress up again. After all, the insect-girl knew exactly the types of costumes that super-heroines wore and the idea of Rebecca in such a get up…well…
…
She shook the thoughts away as she gently nudged her.
“Hey, where are you?” she asked gently, not wanting to just assume that Rebecca was having issues with the idea of dressing up tomorrow. “Got something heavy on your mind?”

>> “Hey, where are you? Got something heavy on your mind?”
Agnes was so caring, but Rebecca chuckled at the concern; she was not nearly as worried about this idea of costuming up a second time as she was for her first promo day. Akshay eased her into the craziness and the crowds, and she felt like she handled it very well. "Nae, Ah'm gonna be alright! It's jist a costume, right?"
There was one thing Rebecca did have in the back of her mind when it came to promo day, however. Miracle Lass involved a somewhat revealing skirt, but was mostly tame. This time... "Ah mean, Ah guess Ah'm a little nervoos aboot being Spectacular Girl." Unlike Miracle Lass, Spectacular Girl had no issues with revealing her midriff... but hey, it was not low cut at least!
She could feel the heat in her ears when she thought about walking through the crowd in a top like that, but she squeezed Agnes's hand. "Ah think Ah'll be fine showin' mah tummy if yoo're there tae remind th' boys this Spectacular Girl is happily taken." Being with Agnes helped her feel confident, and she worried less about other people, (like the young men who were talking with her,) when Agnes was there with her. After all, why would others matter?
They finally reached the counter where they were able to rent skates and Rebecca remembered why they were there. "Oh right! Ah'm sae excited! Have ye ever skated before?" Maybe that was a question that should have been asked earlier...
>> "Nae, Ah'm gonna be alright! It's jist a costume, right?"
Agnes nodded as she walked next to Rebecca. She really did want to go and see Rebecca in action. The tales she heard about Rebecca’s first promo day, dressing up as Miracle Lass, defending the store from Polar Opposite with the help of the might Captain Goldfish, it all sounded like so much fun. This Akshay guy seemed like he was quite a hoot as well. The way her girlfriend spoke about it just painted this picture of a kindly co-worker but with such craziness about him that she could only find amusement in him.
At least tomorrow she would able to finally meet him as well as see Rebecca work. She also knew that Rebecca didn’t have to worry at all about wearing the costume. Whatever outfit she had decided on would easily be something that she could pull off.
>> "Ah mean, Ah guess Ah'm a little nervoos aboot being Spectacular Girl. Ah think Ah'll be fine showin' mah tummy if yoo're there tae remind th' boys this Spectacular Girl is happily taken."
Agnes paused and slowly tilted her head at Rebecca.
“Spectacular Girl? Wow…that’s….wow…” she commented. She knew of the superhero, had seen her in comics before and to be honest she was surprised that Rebecca had chosen that costume. The short skirt, the bare midriff, all of it was pure blush worthy. But she still smiled as she ran her thumb over Rebecca’s fingers in a soothing gesture. “You’ll be fine, I promise.” she nodded firmly and grinned as she balled up her fist. “And if they don’t get that you’re happily taken, I’ll make sure drive the point home,” she chuckled and shook her fist at an invisible foe.
Once they actually reached the rink, Agnes felt the chill in the air caused by the massive pond of frozen ice that made up their skating area. Over it people easily glided and moved as if they had been doing it all their lives. Some spun, others raced, there were even some people laughing hysterically as they clung onto the edge of the rink for support. Agnes had a feeling that she was going to be emulating that giggling, clinging posture any moment now.
They had reached the skate rental and Agnes lifted her purse to retrieve her wallet.
>> "Oh right! Ah'm sae excited! Have ye ever skated before?"
She blushed a little as she smiled at skate rental man who waited for them to exchange money for skates. Agnes had already agreed that she would take care of the rentals so she fished out the money for them and handed it over. Once she had done so, shook her head as she handed Rebecca her skates.
“N-Never before. Actually…little scared…” she said with a nervous chuckle. “But, you’ll be there to catch me…right?”

>> “Spectacular Girl? Wow…that’s….wow… You’ll be fine, I promise. And if they don’t get that you’re happily taken, I’ll make sure drive the point home."
By Agnes's initial tone, it was clear she knew the character and the costume that would come along with it. Rebecca owned no belly shirts, and her skirts almost always came down close to her knee, so this choice was unusual for her, but being in the world of comics emboldened her, at least while she could be in character. Besides, as shy as she was, her stomach was an attribute she was more confident in...
She liked the idea of Agnes protecting her and even being ready to get a little territorial. "Thank ye, darling. But Ah shouldnae need protecting; Ah'm supposed tae be a superhero from a faraway planet!" Spectacular Girl was, after all, a super-strong alien warrior who gained power from lampposts, headlights and other synthetic light. A girl with laser eyes and flight and the ability to make male superheroes blush should not need her girlfriend to take care of her... but it was nice.
Unlike her last costume, this one was her first costume that was purchased by her personally, so she would get to keep it! "Maybe Ah wornt change when Ah get off work and ye can just take me home as yer own personal super-girlfriend."
Rebecca watched as Agnes exchanged the money for skates, much to her chagrin. It was fair though; they already agreed, and Rebecca would take her turn paying another time.
>> “N-Never before. Actually…little scared… But, you’ll be there to catch me…right?”
It would seem Rebecca was going to be the experienced skater(ish) of the couple after all, which would be fine. "Of course! I'll be holding yer hand, and if ye fall, Ah'll be there. Like yer personal Spectacular Girl," she added with a wink as she laced up her skates.
With their shoes and belongings stored in a locker, Rebecca offered her hand and awkwardly walked toward the rink in skates that were only elegant alongside ice. Once on the smooth frozen surface, Rebecca glided through the portal and circled back to the door where her girlfriend stood. "Alright, now hold mah hand and hold ontae the wall an' we'll get ye on two feet. Oh, and Ah'm sorry," she had to prepare her, "but yoo're gorna fall. Everyone does. Sae dornt worry aboot it!" She gave her best reassuring smile. Rebecca remembered her sore, boney butt after her first few times learning.
Agnes sat there and watched as Rebecca started up to lace up the skates. The chill from the ice rink that was none too far off was beginning to creep in through her clothes. As every second passed she was beginning to feel the impending pain of constantly falling on her rear end. She knew that tonight was not going to be one of her most elegant but she believed that Rebecca would not really think of her as being a fool. But the call of the ice was having quite an effect on her.
But thankfully her honesty about her experience with skating had proved to be enough to warrant sympathy from reassurance that she would not be on the ice alone…
>> "Of course! I'll be holding yer hand, and if ye fall, Ah'll be there. Like yer personal Spectacular Girl,"
Agnes blushed and smiled as she nodded her head. It always seemed like Rebecca was there to protect her. Whether back at her parent’s house or on the ice rink, the young, redheaded Scot just always managed to be there for her when she needed her the most. It really was almost as if Rebecca was her own, personal superhero. The young lass was a constant that Agnes knew that she could always count on. She hoped one day that she really could return the favor.
“Thank you,” she said with a silly grin.
With the skates firmly laced up, Agnes took a breath and sighed. It was game time now and she was still having a mass of butterflies going off in her stomach. But soon her fears were washed away as she stood and awkwardly made her way to the opening of the rink.
Standing there, she watched as Rebecca glided out onto the ice and instantly the runaway found herself completely enraptured. If angels had ever existed on ice, Agnes was sure that she was staring at one right now. Rebecca looked so utterly beautiful as she glided across the ice, looking one hundred times more at ease out there than Agnes could ever hope to achieve. The elegance at which she moved, the sight of her hair dancing about her shoulders, and the smile on her face…all of it simply made the runaway all the more drawn to her.
Her thoughts were shaken away, though, when she skated back and Agnes blinked the angelic image away.
>> "Alright, now hold mah hand and hold ontae the wall an' we'll get ye on two feet. Oh, and Ah'm sorry…but yoo're gorna fall. Everyone does. Sae dornt worry aboot it!"
“O-Okay…”
One breath followed another and Agnes slowly moved onto her feet. She sighed as she reached out and slipped her hand into hers. Already she felt comfortable just holding her, but the second she began to be pulled out into the ice, fear of falling and her inability to really gain her balance took over. Her feet just felt too odd. Instead all Agnes managed to achieve, even as she held onto the railing, was to look rather comical as she was only able to move thanks to Rebecca’s pulling.
“I…I dunno if I can do this…” she stammered out with a combination of nerves and giggling. “Just feels so…so…SOOOOO--!!”
Agnes gasped as she tried to straighten herself up only to find that the suddenly movement caused her to lose the already precarious balance she had on her feet. SlipSlipSLIIIIPPP!!! Her skates struggled to find a footing to lock onto and failed miserably as she gasped, slipped and landed hard onto her sore rearend.
“Ooof! Oowww….” she groaned as she sat on the very cold ice, trying to muster up some bit of dignity…

It was a slow start, but that was to be expected from someone who never touched the ice before. Rebecca held her girlfriend's hand, and they stayed along the railing, with Agnes doing her best to keep her skates parallel so she could slide along while Rebecca pulled them. They had some space, either due to her girlfriend's wings keeping those who fear mutants at a distance, or else people were giving room to the unconventional couple out of courtesy or discomfort. Regardless of the reason, Rebecca was just happy for the space they were allotted. Other than that, to each their own.
She was getting ready to compliment her girlfriend on staying balanced longer than she did as a kid, but the fateful moment came.
>> “I…I dunno if I can do this… Just feels so…so…SOOOOO--!! ...Ooof! Oowww….”
Rebecca did her best to keep her giggling to a minimum after the girl tethered to her hand fell in what felt like slow-motion, landing on her bottom, where many first timers made their home.
Already holding one hand, Rebecca slid in front of her darling gal-pal, grabbing the other hand to help Agnes to her feet. "Sorry, but Ah warned ye. It happens to everybody." She slowly helped Agnes get to her knees then her feet before she quickly found the railing once more.
"Yoo'll get th' balance soon, promise. When we skate, try tae use one skate tae push ye forward and the other tae balance. Ah'll stay right with ye, holdin' on." It would not be immediate, but Rebecca was gonna help Agnes get the hang of things.
"As fer yoo're butt..." Rebecca had a wicked impulse and followed through on it before she could reconsider or get too embarrassed, lightly patting Agnes's bottom. "It'll hurt a little more th' second time, sae no whining," she teased.
She resumed her spot next to Agnes, hand held firmly in hand. "Alright, let's try again." She pushed off, interested in seeing Agnes's second attempt.
Agnes sighed as she sat on the ice and kind of just refused to look up at Rebecca. She was not pouting or anything, but this was really just silly. After all, when you look at people skating, it looked as if anyone would easily figure it out, even someone like Agnes! But the runaway was obviously learning the truth behind that statement. Though people made it look easy, it was far more complicated than she could have imagined. It was not impossible to do, but having never done anything like it before, Agnes should have known better assuming it was going to be anything less than difficult.
Rebecca giggled, and Agnes sighed, trying not to giggle as well. The blush that filled her cheeks probably could have burned hot enough to cause her to fall through the ice, but she would not remain on it long enough for her to test that theory out. Instead she turned her attention up to Rebecca who had gotten her giggling controlled and just looked at Agnes with the biggest, sympathetic eyes she had ever seen.
>> "Sorry, but Ah warned ye. It happens to everybody. Yoo'll get th' balance soon, promise. When we skate, try tae use one skate tae push ye forward and the other tae balance. Ah'll stay right with ye, holdin' on."
Agnes was helped onto her feet and she groaned a little as she felt the pain reverberating throughout her body from her rear end. That was a pretty harsh fall on the ice. She had feared/hoped, that it would get her out of trying to learn ice skating for not so that she could just sit on the sidelines and simply watched Rebecca skate with elegance that she could envy.
Unfortunately that would not be her look. The look on her girlfriend’s face, though sympathetic, was a look of concentration. Agnes would not be getting away on pained looks during this endeavor at all. It seemed that she had unleashed a beast in sweet Scot.
>> "As fer yoo're butt... It'll hurt a little more th' second time, sae no whining,"
Holding onto the railing for dear life, Agnes tried to find her balance again. But it seemed that the second she did, she nearly fell again the second that she felt the sly and “none-too-subtle” pat on her butt. She arched a brow and chuckled as she eyed her girlfriend closely.
“Listen you, minx,” Agnes warned in a playfully sly look on her face. “Just because I’m in a precarious situation just doesn’t mean that you can just take advantage of me,” she said with a laugh. She would so pay Rebecca back for the unsubtle grope later. “I’m a good girl,” she said with a firm nod.
She sighed as she struggled to move her legs, her rear end sticking out a bit as she tried to keep her center of gravity lowered in order to find her balance on the skates again. When one foot moved forward, the other moved back, and vice versa until Agnes managed to finally lessened the gap between her feet until they were finally parallel with one another. Once she had achieved that, Agnes straightened up, slowly this time, until she was fully standing upright.
Back straight, hand gripping the railing, she sighed as she tried to remember her girlfriend’s instructions about how she was supposed to do this.
>> "Alright, let's try again."
“Alright—“ Agnes started to say, but the second that Rebecca began to push off and drag her along with her, Agnes squealed and closed her eyes. “Aaah!! No! Noo!” she squeaked/giggled/cried as she felt herself leaving the safety of the railing and skate out into the rink.
Eyes closed tightly she struggled to keep her balanced and her grip on Rebecca’s hand tightened all the more. At least twice she felt her blades catch on the ice but before she could take a spill she managed to twist just quickly enough to keep from falling flat on her face. Wings fluttering nervously, she refused to open her eyes and just gripped onto Rebecca’s hand. She’d kill her if she let go, Agnes secretly swore that…

>> “Listen you, minx, just because I’m in a precarious situation just doesn’t mean that you can just take advantage of me. I’m a good girl.”
Rebecca's cheeks pinkened at the word minx-- a title Rebecca could guarantee she never anticipated being called in life. Was she just too comfortable with Agnes that she was becoming the flirtatious tease of their relationship? Thankfully, Agnes's mischievous grin made it clear she was teasing the fair-skinned Rebecca to bring that trademark surge of heat to her cheeks. "Sorry. Obviously Ah'm a bad influence," she joked.
>> “Alright— Aaah!! No! Noo!”
Agnes obviously was not expecting their path to stray from the wall, but Agnes was not going to follow through if she was more focused on clinging to support. Besides, she still had Rebecca, whose hand was firmly clinging to Agnes's. "Dornt worry, yoo're doing just fine," she reassured. "And if ye fall again, Ah'll get ye ice cream and kiss ye better." The suggestion was a given since, unfortunately for Agnes, she would fall again. In fact, Rebecca would probably fall at least once. In a twisted way, it was a silly part of the fun.
"Yoo're doing sae good! Maybe Ah shoulds let ye try on yer own..." She teased, loosening her grip on Agnes's hand, but not actually letting her go. Teasing was one thing, but sending her girlfriend into a state of panic was another.
The lightness in her stomach, due to a combination of nerves and gliding across the ice, was an immediate sign to the runaway that she was fearful of falling again. It was not that Agnes had not fallen before, obviously she did many times when she practiced her flying. But the reason why she especially feared it today was because she did not want to look so foolish in front of her new girlfriend, Rebecca. Even though the pretty redhead had promised her that she was going to fall, that everyone falls their first time on the ice, it did little to quell Agnes’ fears.
The worst of all was that she did not expect to be suddenly ripped from the safety of the ice rink’s railing so quickly! After all, this was literally her first time stepping on ice and Rebecca was already pulling her away from the security and comfort of the rails. All Agnes could do in response was squeak in distress as she closed her eyes tight and held onto Rebecca’s with a vice-like grip.
“Ohmygaaaawwwwd….!” she squealed in a nervous laughter. Behind the darkness of her eyelids, Agnes saw and felt the freeness of moving without powering her own feet and it both excited and terrified her. But even as she held on for dear life, the soft and gentle tones of her girlfriend pierced through the darkness.
>> "Dornt worry, yoo're doing just fine…And if ye fall again, Ah'll get ye ice cream and kiss ye better."
“Don’t think I won’t hold you to that promise, “ Agnes replied quickly.
Agnes quick breathing slowly began to calm just enough for her to slowly open her eyes. She was still terrified so she didn’t open her eyes fully right away. Instead she did it slowly, and calmly. First one eye opened and when it locked onto Rebecca’s sweet face, the second eyelid finally opened up. Nervously she watched Rebecca, holding tightly onto the young redhead’s hand as tightly as she could without harming her.
Her eyes locking onto her, Agnes slowly (very slowly), began to calm down enough to allow herself to straighten. Though it still felt odd to be moving and not be in control of it, Agnes calmed enjoy enough to realize just how much fun this could be. She nervously chuckled as straightened up and actually had a moment to experience the true beauty of this place. The chill of the rink brushed her flushed cheeks, the smooth movements of moving across the ice were intoxicating, and the presence of her sweet angel was enough cause Agnes to begin to relax.
>> "Yoo're doing sae good! Maybe Ah shoulds let ye try on yer own..."
Agnes initially beamed happily at Rebecca’s praise. She didn’t think she was really doing all that well but even if Rebecca was outright lying, it made her heart swell happily. Almost to the point that she nearly missed noticing that the redhead was slowly opening her hand in order to let go of her. As Agnes glided, she breathed in the cool air and nearly let go of Rebecca’s hand when suddenly she realized what she had said in the last part of the sentence.
“Oh nononono!! Rebeeeeeecca!!!” she squeaked as she waved her free arm frantically until she managed to twist herself to such a degree that she propelled herself directly INTO her girlfriend’s body.
Arms lashed around and suddenly Agnes found herself squeezing and holding onto her girlfriend as tightly as she could, gripping onto the only thing that she managed to find support in…Rebecca’s rear end. Agnes actually blushed when she realized what part of Rebecca’s body she was holding onto, but before she could feel completely embarrassment, slowly but surely, she began to giggle…

Agnes was getting the hang of it, or at the very least she was not falling, which was enough of an improvement to Rebecca. She steered them closer to the wall, but not enough for Agnes to use it as a crutch.
It was not until Rebecca loosened her grip that the situation got out of hand.
>> “Oh nononono!! Rebeeeeeecca!!!”
Agnes twirled in a panic, colliding into her girlfriend's arms. This maneuver halted most of Rebecca's upper body's momentum, while her feet were still travelling, frictionless. She might have been able to control the situation a little better if she did not feel a hand squeezing her bottom.
"Eeep!"
Her feet clattered in quick succession, trying to keep the event from occurring, but it was no use. Rebecca fell backward, her butt colliding on the hard ice, and her girlfriend falling into her lap.
Despite the thumping pain, Rebecca began laughing uncontrollably. She did not even mind that her girlfriend was essentially on top of her in public. When she was able to calm herself down, she managed words. "Well, Ah guess we're going fer ice cream. Oh," she added with a tone of victory, "and we're even now, little miss good girl."
