The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Jebidiah had found his way to the park. He had gotten off the the taxi at an almost random location and had ended up there. He was wearing, as usual on bright lit days, a black hooded cloak. While taking in the sights, from plants to people, he had stumbled upon a musician singing on the streets and playing an old, semi-hollow electric guitar with a small amp to his side.
I have seen better days, my life's in disarray. What is the point of it all?
What is it that you say? On the ground I should lay? My life is a constant fall.
And why do youuuu keep stumbling blindly? With my open arms it sooooo easy to find me.
How the hell had you....
The man was horrible. Singing on the streets for money. Can it get any lower? But he needed money as well. That was the problem; he would have to apply during the day for a job of course, and he despised the sun in his face. No matter, he could tolerate it.
But for now, he would get a feel for the city. He strolled leisurely out of the park. Walking through the streets of the city he was approached. While passing an alley, a man walked up behind him. Jebidiah felt the pressure of what appeared to be a gun on his back.
"Come with me Bub... No no, don't turn around... there ya go, now get steppin'"
He was facing toward the alley, ready to walk in. Was this guy for real? This will be his last day, Jebidiah swore to himself silently.
He was led to the middle of the alley. It was dark. Perfect A few more steps and there was another two men, fairly small and rather weak looking, in front of him. He was backed into a corner and told to empty his pockets. Apparently, there was only on gun between all three of them.
They can't be serious! They are not even going to check if I am armed? Fools... it will be their downfall.
He reaches inside his cloak and pulls out his wallet from one of his many pockets. He tosses it high to the man with the gun. Stupidly the man stares at the wallet, waiting for it to come down.
In that brief moment he stuck. His sword was pulled with lightning speed and an instant later he could hear the "Pwhsss" of metal slicing metal. With and upward swing he had sliced off the end of the gun. As his glowing blue blade passed through the metal of the gun, it sliced off the end, sure. But who ever said you needed the end of the gun to fire a weapon? The thief pulled the trigger.
Jebidiah had anticipated the move, past experience had served him well. He was turned as the gun shattered. His coldfire infused weapon had completely frozen the gun. As he felt his back no longer pelted with shards of metal, he turned around. Two of the thieves were on the floor, screaming in agony.. The third ran as fast as he could, leaving the alley. Jebidiah bent down to the writhing thief and grasped him by the throat, immediately making him jump harder yet, for contact with his skin was cold to the point of pain. As he continued to hold him, he whispered into his ear.
What Hath God Wrought?
He then walked out of the alley after sheathing his blade concealed in his cloak. Less then a block away he stopped in a coffee shop, ordered a Chocolate Frapachino and sat down to enjoy. People are sooo stupid...
The trails she had placed on the man had paid off. The way he handled the thugs was most impressive, his swordsman ship superior to hers even after Hunter’s tutelage. There analysis of his powers from reports correlated with what he had used. He was exactly what Hunter was looking for to form what he had christened the Kabal. Having seen him enter a coffee shop she waited a moment and followed.
Buying a coffee she walked over to him and ask, “May I join you?”

Looking up from within the hood of his cloak, he examined her with his venomous hazel eyes. His face dark but visible from within his cloak he continued to hold his gaze. After a few agonizingly long seconds he motioned to the seat across from him.
Business. It had to be. Why else would this stranger sit by me? He almost chuckled at the thought that she was interested in him outside of business. Sure he wasn't horrible looking but the idea to him was absurd.
“Thanks,” said Sabrina smiling sweetly and sitting down, “names Sabrina.” She added offering her hand. “You from around here?” She of course knew that the man was based in Europe, and had only landed in America this morning, but that didn’t mean she had to tell him that.
Having seen his display several armed men, much better trained than the thugs, had entered the coffee shop and mingled with the customers, ready incase the men tried violence. She doubted it, but it was better safe than sorry.

What did she want? Could she really be interested in small talk? At the offering of her hand he stated simply, "I am sick." It was the truth wasn't it? This disease I carry... this sickness... this mutation.
"Names Sabrina." He simply nodded. I don't care, why are you telling me this?
As she asked where he was from he simply stated, "Not here," and continued to look at his drink.
"Look lady, I have been around long enough to know not to trust random encounters. What is this about? I am an old man, you are not interested in me."
“Straight to business, suits me,” said Sabrina, taking a serious tone, “My employer is interested in utilising your talent. In exchange he is willing to offer you vast sums of money, or what ever else it is that you desire. Interested?”
"Would you find it strange if I simply answered 'Yes' without any further comment? Well if that's what you were expecting, you are naive indeed." Jebidiah looks her in the eyes as he starts to question. "Utilizing my talent? What exactly is that supposed to mean? How has he heard of me? It must be dangerous if he offers anything that I desire. What if he cannot provide what I desire? Who exactly is your employer? You realize I have been here less then a day? Is it not a bit presumptuous to make such an offer before I am even settled in?
Jebidiah shakes his head a bit before calmly taking a sip of his drink, indicating that his questioning is over for now.
Sabrina didn’t expect a yes straight off, but at least she had peaked his interest. “By utilising your talent I mean using your mutation and skill to accomplish tasks, such as acquiring items that my employer desires. My employer is one of the most powerful men in the world, it would be more surprising for me if he had not heard of you. He saw some of your accomplishments back in your youth, and decided to keep and eye on you.”
She paused briefly to sip her drink. “It is of course likely to be dangerous, but then most things carry a risk, and surely the gain of whatever you want, and my employer can get you anything on earth, is worth it. I do know precisely how long you have been here, and if you’re worried about settling in my employer can provide you with accommodation.”
She had deliberately neglected to mention who her employer was, Hunter explicitly stated that he was not to be mentioned in public. Hopefully she had been concise enough in her answers to soot Jebidiah.

Maybe he shouldn't have asked so many questions at once. He had wanted to sound somewhat intimidating... I mean, who makes this kind of offer out of the blue? He had completely forgotten he had asked who her employer was, and in his mind 'the employer' was simply what he was known by. He still had bundles of questions flowing through his mind, but he knew that she was not going to tell him anything, otherwise she would have done so by now. Now the one question that he had been itching to ask since she made the offer.... Is this sketchy work? Will I be breaking the law? He figured it would be maybe slightly better then useless to ask her, so did not.
“If you do you can walk away, but you will be continually watched until you die, and if you are deemed a liability you will be killed.” While Hunter hadn’t stated that explicitly, she knew that was what would happen. Hunter let someone walk away once in the past, and they caused him a lot of trouble by running their mouth. When Hunter found them they spent the next four months in agony as Hunter slowly tortured him to death.
Even with Jebidiah’s powers Hunter would still make him suffer considerably before letting him die if he compromised him. The incident in the past meant he couldn’t go to Asia for a hundred years as he waited for all who sought to kill him to die. In the modern world exposure would mean hiding completely as he waited for people to die. That was just something Hunter was not willing to do, and Sabrina did not wish to see her surrogate father forced into seclusion.

"So then, how long does my employment last? If i agree, does this mean I am chained for life with the options of either being killed or carefully watching everything i say until I am in my deathbed?" Jebidiah was liking it less and less... but what else could he have expected, 'the employer' was offering to set him for life. At least as long as he would continue to be useful.... He had not fully grasped what was being offered until these thoughts flowed through his head.
Set for life? Is that what is really being offered? I mean, I have a conscious... well.... do I? I am nothing but a curse, why not use the curse? And, who ever said it was sketchy work? Well i guess the fact that i would be watched for the rest of my life implies it...still... I can handle myself. Whatever the bastard throws at me, I can handle.
He started to tap his fingers on the desk, looking her in the eyes, "Take me to The Employer."
Sabrina smiled a cold smile. “Excellent, if you’d like to come with me there is a limo waiting for us.” She rose from her seat leaving her coffee where it was. Heading out the door she went to the limo parked nearby, opened the door and got in.
Several of the armed men who had spread themselves amongst the crowd finished their coffee and left at the same time, dispersing themselves along the street to continue to cover Sabrina until she was in the car. Hunter knew what this man could do and wasn’t going to take any chances.

The men had been more discreet about entering, Jebidiah hadn't noticed, but at the rush of them leaving as soon as Sabrina did, he noticed. Strange, why would The Employer expect me to injure someone who had offered me a job? He's careful, that's for sure. But.... that's just paranoid.
With coffee in hand, he peeked into the limo. Not too shabby Making sure Sabrina had scooted over, he took a seat and closed the door. Those guards coming in? Guess The Employer forgot to cover all the bases if they're not. He unstrapped his sword and set it on his lab, waiting until they arrived to their destination.
