The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Gargoyle's comment cut straight through the puppy mindset and Drew flinched both inwardly and outwardly. Rationally speaking he knew that what he'd done all that time ago was necessary. Being called a killer, even in that cutesy wutesy playful tone, still struck a little closer than he liked. All too soon however Gina was trying to play with him again and Drew got back into form. After all, Gargoyle had a toy of sorts! The toy was there and then it disappeared!
"Rrrruff!" he exclaimed as he whirled about to face the dastardly toy that disappeared and tapped his leg! It thought it could get away! Not on his watch.
"Grrrrrr."
Drew darted forward to seize the evil bottle. Oh sure he could resist the puppy-like urges to play but frankly he didn't want to. This was so much better than having his mind clouded up with all those promises. It was a lot simpler and more fun. The gargoyle's question about who he belonged to had Drew smirking to himself. Even more so when the fuzzy windbag answered.
Taller than strictly necessary? Really? Fuzzybritches was reaching for that one. Maybe he'd give the guy a break for a moment or two. Especially since Gargoyle was so interested in playing with him!

Sophy
The puppy wasn’t Calley’s, but someone else… more refined. And by more refined, Calley meant a tattooed green-haired vigilante. Not exactly someone that Gina would associate with Calley calling his superior-- her mental image depicted a green-haired, punkish thug. That shouldn’t be too hard to find, if Gina knew someone that matched that description. She, however, did not.
Calley groomed himself casually as he finally uttered that they weren’t home.
“Where do they live?” Gina pressed on. Even if she was going to have her fun with the dog, eventually she’d have to return the Great Dane puppy to its respective owner.
The puppy gave chase to the wily plastic bottle, bouncing after it and barking. Gina laughed openly, and continued to wiggle the bottle around before lifting it up to the puppy’s eye-level.
"Live? Oh, very close by," the tiger said, elegantly twisting to better groom his most refined white belly fuzz. "In a gray house, I believe. A bit too lively of an establishment for my own tastes, but opinions differ." The belly bathing was paused momentarily for a deadpan in her direction, then resumed with no preamble.
The puppy. Continued being an idiot over a piece of recyclable garbage.
"In fact, he should be back any time now," the great cat continued. "I'm sure if you stick around, you'll get to meet him eventually."
Sooner rather than later, the tiger sincerely hoped. Puppy was not sleeping in his bed tonight.
