The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"The Registration act, all of the 'holding' facilities that they try to start up every so often, and I'm sure you won't forget the Sentinels any time soon," he answered, in an annoyed sort of voice, the mere thought of the human presumptuousness irritating him. "Segregation all over again, we barely make headway with racism as it was, and now there's a more tempting target than racial minorities... us. Except we're actually useful if we can be controlled."
"True very true." Emerald pondered drumming her fingers on the table. She was forgeting something that she was supposed to do...something important.
'Emmy dont forget about the movie tonight!' Ruby's voice rang in her ears.
Emerald knew she was supposed to be with Ruby tonight for a movie and she would be, as soon as she was done talking to her new friend. Emerald felt her nose twitching and she covered her mouth as she sneezed.
Woa Where did that come from? Emerald thought to herself as pain rushed through her head. I havent had a headache like this in over 10 years, I cant be getting sick now. There is no postive way I am getting sick now...hopefully
Emerald's head pounded as she sneezed again causing the water in her glass to jump out of the glass and land back in it.
"Man I feel like I have a clove of pepper shoved up my nose." Emerald growled
"Of Course not, Its proably something in the air thats making me sneeze like this." Emerald reasurred.
She knew she was getting sick and that what was going through her mind right now. She wondered if it had something to do with the mugger in the park he might have put some chemicals on his close that made animals get sick or something. She wished she knew so her mind would be at ease.
John frowned in concern. "If you're not feeling good, I probably ought to let you go," he said, trying to hid the disappointment in his voice with only moderate success. "I don't suppose I could persuade you to come see me again sometime?"
John smiled, scribbling something on one of the napkins. "This is my cell number," he said, sliding it across to her. "Just give me a ring if you're coming to town. Or if you're bored."
He glanced out the window, then back at Emerald. "You okay to get back by yourself?"
Emerald took the napkin and stuffed it into the safety of her Deium jacket pocket. She thought for a moment and grabbed a napkin and a pencil. She scribbled down her own cell number and handed it to Johnny.
"Here is my cell number, give me a ring if you are planning on dropping by the institute. My window is the one with the bobble head chipmunk on it. My sister won it at the arcade and I decided to keep it," Emerald smiled at Johnny. "Im sure I will be fine."
Emerald got up from the table, rubbing her temples lightly she started to walk towards the door. "See Ya Later Johnny!"
