The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Zelek perched on the wall in an alleyway on a ledge he willed to form on the cold brick wall. He was finally back in the city, his tour of Europe was fun and educational, but there was nothing quite like stalking in new york. Raspberry ringlets bounced upon pale shoulders. A Black fishnet shirt clung to her skin over some faded I was there concert baby doll tee. leather and spikes adorned her neck and wrists in fitting 'mommy and daddy look at me, I don't get enough attention' fashion. Her combat boots looked heavy, they would be hard to run in.
There was something he couldn't resist about a lone female walking down the street in the dark, oh he loved bringing fear into the eyes of men too, body builders and little girls screamed in terror all the same. but it wasn't quite the same as his love for the way she would sound when she was out of breath and cornered.
He concentrated on the soles of her shoes and the concrete below them making the air between them solid and meld them all into one. she nearly fell over when he shoes refused to move.
The curse that escaped her lips came with a British accent. oh this just got better and better. He slid down the wall slowly, as the wall gripped and released him until he met the ground. She struggled with her shoes trying to pry them from the concrete to no avail.
He whispered as he came upon her quietly. " I suggest you take them off, they would have slowed you down when you ran anyway.its almost a favor."
She looked over her shoulder, eyes wide. The stutter in her voice on top of her accent was enough to make him want to bite her right then. " wh wh why, would I need to run?"
"because, most people think that it is worth a try, escaping. I mean when your life is on the line." A long jagged blade formed in his hand, the metal was sharp.
She struggled with her laces, she didn't opt for the kind that zipped along the side. Her hair smelled of honeysuckle shampoo, and she smelled of fear. it was intoxicating. tears sparkled in her doe eyes as she looked back.
He imagined how he appeared to her blurred and terrifying. His impossible black hair falling below his chin, his chalk white skin making her milky complexion look healthy. She knelled down and struggled with her laces.
"Here, allow me." he reached a palm forward to ensure that she knew what she was dealing with Her laces were simply gone. she bolted dropping her bag, the final twilight book slipped from within. He chuckled darkly.
Zelek chased her allowing his blade to scrape along the brick wall as he ran, the scratching and clacking would allow her to keep track of how useless this all really was.
Her small feet bore bright white socks that were picking up the filth of new york with every panicked step away from him. She shouldn't have snuck out, she shouldn't have left the note saying she was running away.SHe should have tried harder to make things work at home.
should've. would've, couldv'e. it was too late.
The girl ran up to a pair of men she might have previously avoided, she ranted, she raved. "he's going to kill me. he made my shoelaces disappeared, he has a knife!"
It was all true, but the men obviously thought the girl was on something because they cautiously backed away from her.
Zelek sprung forward and allowed not amount more for the men to consider the situation at hand. a wave of his hand, and his impossibly sharp blade carved into the men, red ribbons followed the blade momentarily, the thin veil of security ripped from the young woman's grasp, once more she ran, this time she ran to the building that the man huddled in front of. the vampire followed.
She ran to the door, in this neighbor hood it was locked, she pressed all of the buttons, begging for help, anyone listening, in amount would know better than to come running. Zelek saw to it that the door sealed to the frame. she pressed herself against the door in hopes that someone would buzz her in. Zelek closed the gap between them and pressed him up against the wall, the blade evaporated in his hand and shiny silver claws glistened on his fingertips, she simply shook with fear, she gave up.
He needed her blood, the heart was a gift and it was a curse, an excuse to run wild and give in to every dark desire. he pressed his teeth against her neck
