Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

MRO is an intermediate to advanced writing level original character, original plot X-Men RPG. We've been open and active since October of 2005. You can play as a mutant, human, or Adapted— one of the rare humans who nullify mutant powers by their very existence. Goodies, baddies, and neutrals are all welcome.

After the events of the 2020 Harvest Moon and the following Winter Solstice, magic has started manifesting in the MROvere! With the efforts of the Welldrinker Cult, people are being converted into Mystics, a species of people genetically disposed to be great conduits for magical energy.

A shadowy group is gaining power, drawing in people who are curious, vulnerable, or malicious, and turning them into Mystics. They are recruiting people into their ranks to spread the influence of magic in the world, but for what end goal?

Kaine sat on the bench in the park the sunlight bathing him. Kaine watched and waited as people walked past dismissing him for a hobo and a drunk.

Then it happened the sun flashed on the blade as it apeared from the mans pocket grabbing the women as he did "Give us your bag or your dead meat" The man and womans shadows stirred as kaine rose from the bench and walked to where they were.

"get off her now" Kaine said an athroitive note in his voice

"bite me dirtbag" the mugger replied he wore a trenchcoat and jeans he had scruffy blonde hair and a skinny face.

"Im sorry this is going to hurt" as these words were isued from kaines mouth the shadows rose and turned in to human form lifeless drone of human forms no features just bodys.They grabbed the man with iron grips

"mutant scum go to hell where you belong with the rest of your kind get these off me now" kaine strolled to the man and punched him several times working the face and body with one final blow the man fell to the floor unconscious

"Hey lady phone the police and tell them that a mutant stoped him thats all"

Kaine walked away heading towards the exit of the park thinking "maybe he was right maybe i am mutant scum i should go to a place with other mutants
" Kaine did up his jacket and undid the helmet from his motorbike a suzuki bandit it was time to pay a visit to and old invitation.

Kaine rode off heading towards the institute.
