The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

This…was getting worse by the second.
Not Jorge, he was actually doing everything Kealey had asked. He was keeping the crowd back, not hurting them, and he didn’t mind her putting a damper on the same emotions the perp in the middle of the square was trying to amp up. All of that was going swimmingly.
Until people started screaming.
Kealey knew those emotions, and she turned her head in time to see a golf cart crashing through the crowd of people.
She cursed. Kealey Quinn actually cursed. She cursed loud, and she cursed proud.
”What did he do?” she hissed through clenched teeth when she was done. Her concentration had slipped, and now not only was she trying to fight against the guy’s control over the crowd, he’d gotten a fingernail hold on her own emotions.
”Jorge…we have to get through this. If we don’t get through this…I can’t knock some sense into that kid, and he needs some sense knocked into him. Hard.’ she said. Talking helped. It vented the fiery emotions produced by the other empath and it vented her own frustration.
Finally the broke through the crowd. To the middle. There was a minotaur.
With Hokee on its back. Naked.
Goodness it was tempting to leave him.
”Jorge!” Kealey called over the din of the crowd, which was starting to disperse on the edges where she’d calmed people down. ”Take the minotaur down.”
”I’ve got the other two.”
And she did. They were empaths, but they were new to their powers. Kealey had had practice. Years of practice.
(OOC- You guys can assume that Kealey is going to handle the empathy with no real further trouble. As for the mintaur. That’s up to you two.)

Jorge
The moving water spout was enough to keep people back. No one really tried to burst through the water, which was good because it would be painfully sobering. But with Kealey at his side those that were closest and would attempt to break in were calmed thanks to her powers and gave them enough sense to disperse. With that in mind, Jorge found that he was actually able to calm the swirling waters just enough to so that it still looked intimidating but did not require so much of his attentions.
But just as Jorge thought that they were finally getting some control over the situation…people started screaming.
Screaming was not good.
Then he heard the most interesting sound from behind him. It was the sound of someone cursing in such a tongue that it made HIM actually pause. Eyebrow raised, he momentarily glanced back to see that indeed the source of that cursing had come from Kealey. He had to admit that in the few times he’s worked with her, he never would have thought that she would do such a thing.
But as he glanced towards the source of her frustration, he could immediately see why she was mad. Was that…a golf cart that had been slammed into the crowd of people? Immediately he sensed a certain dreadlocked SOMEONE’S hand in that.
>> ”What did he do?”
And apparently he was not the only one.
>> ”Jorge…we have to get through this. If we don’t get through this…I can’t knock some sense into that kid, and he needs some sense knocked into him. Hard.’
“Sounds like a plan to me,” Jorge growled. “I can get you the brass knuckles…”
But there was not much time to think about that. Before he knew it they had managed to worm their way into the very center of the demonstration. There he had a much better look at the minotaur that he saw stalking the crowd from earlier. The massive creature, more than likely the bodyguard or something to whomever this demonstrator was, was growling and stomping on his hooved feet onto the pavement. He was extremely upset from something and after a shake or two, Jorge finally spotted it…
“Hokee…” he mumbles dissatisfied.
>> ”Jorge! Take the minotaur down…I’ve got the other two.”
Jorge nodded. Though part of him did not want the empathy go run off and take on two people on her own, he remembered she was an X-Man and had far more experience at this. Though he would keep an eye out for her if she needed the back-up…if he did not get pummeled by the minotaur first. Standing still, in the center of the group, Jorge lowered the water so that it was just swirling around his feet and gave enough room for Kealey to jump out.
“Be careful,” was all he told her as he dashed off to the side and raised his arms to get the flailing minotaur’s attention. “Yo!!! Over here you horned bastard!”
Once he grabbed the mutants attention, Jorge formed a fist and suddenly lashed out, punching in the air. In doing so he sent a massive jet of water from the ground around his feet that pummeled straight into the creature’s belly. If that did not stun it for a few moments, then he simply was not sure what was going to do it.
“Hokee! Get off him before you get yourself killed!” he shouted as he reared back more work to prepare for another blow if need be…
Things changed, the horrifying realization of a golf cart running into people didn't see to be ringing in his ears at much. A shame really, there was something nice about the sound of havoc rolling of the tongues of people as their lips parted in horror. No, now the sounds he was hearing were mostly from the horned beast his rather nude body was wrapped around. The sound of a huffing minotaur vibrated through his body. He could feel every breath, the low growl in it's voice as it emitted noises of warning.
The minotaur wasn't the only one making noises. Between the distraction caused by the golf cart and the twirling whirlwind of water, things were a bit scattered. The source of the riot seemed to be almost lost in the commotion. Since he was now exposed to the public due to lack of shadows, there were some stark comments made about his lack of clothing. There was also more confusion building up with the breakthrough Kealey was making against the other empaths. With the battle of minds at work, influxes of the congregating crowd teetered between power of influences.
With a rather hard buck, the minotaur left the teen flapping about on his back like a cape. A human windsock was not exactly his high expectations or goal in his lifetime, but it seemed like his actions were saying otherwise. Not much he could do now about this, what was done was done. Re-gripping the beast, one hand took a rather firm grip of a horn. "No s*** Sherlock." Maybe being on the creature wasn't exactly a great idea, but wasn't he supposed to be taking the thing down or whatever? Holding onto the horn tight, he let go with his other hand and took a hold of his shifting all of his weight to hanging off the minotaur's one horn. With as much power as he could muster, Hokee pulled his weight down while keeping a hold of the minotaur.
With a crash to the ground, Hokee's body disappeared out of sight as a helicopter hovered above the scene. News crew, NYPD, he didn't know what it was, just that his chance to disappear from sight had came about. With the impact onto the ground, he knew he'd be tender for a bit. The fight wasn't over, but at least the minotaur was in a bit of pain, having half a horn snapping off couldn't feel that great.
