The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

He was glad they had agreed to go on this date tonight, he was even more glad he was intrigued by the Idea of watching her work, and thus tagging along. He wasn’t sure where she would be right now if he hadn’t. Would he point that out to her? Absolutely not.
Venus gingerly took the key from Mina’s hand and unlocked the door, opening it for her as he had all night. Venus strode to Mina’s side. “The Job got done. So you reputation is in good shape, they didn’t seem any the wiser.”
He flipped open his cell phone. Scrolled through his contacts and tapped on a friend’s number. “Hey Angel, Are you still at the club?” he paused for a moment.” You can hear me, now? good, there is a table in the lounge full of humans, at this table there is one guy that looks serious and is obviously a bit less out of his depth than the others. He needs to die. Get him from a distance; he has some bad side effects if you get to close. Leave the humans alive, if you would be so kind. Thanks, I’ll owe you one.”
He clicked his phone shut. “He will be dead in minutes. Now then.” His finger ran up her arm as he stepped behind her, his other hand removing his tie. “I’ve heard that temporary loss of once sense can heighten others.” His tie gently fell across her eyes. “ I could take your mind off of things for a bit, see if things don’t set themselves right before we explore other options.” How hard could it be to track down a healer?
He was right of course. Despite the complications she had completed the job without recognition and had saved Mute's reputation. Perhaps saved wasn't the word. Defended was more apt. Mina listened in silence as Venus arranged for the death of the person responsible for the whole mess with one phone call. The satisfaction that blossomed was grim but Mina was used to that. The actions that followed his phone call eased some of the grimness from that satisfaction. The was something she was all too used to and had expected by the end of the evening. However with her current impediments Mina felt something she hadn't felt since her childhood.
Insecurity.
There was a gnawing paranoia at the back of her mind that despite her excellent security precautions something would slip through because she couldn't see it. And Venus already knew too much of her. And she was grateful to him, actually grateful! That was not too far distant from fondness and from there? That was a road that the woman refused to travel. For both of their sakes. No, it would be better that he left. Though perhaps not entirely unrewarded. With an ease that belied her sightless condition, Mina turned in the chair. A slight smirk played across her face as she felt her way to his shirt collar and tugged the large man closer.
"Not tonight. But you shouldn't go home entirely empty handed."
Slower than she normally would have done, being newly sightless was frustrating to no end, Mina closed the distance and kissed her date for the evening quite thoroughly.
Venus smiled as she pulled him forward, Things fell to him so easily sometimes that resistance was absolutely charming. More so, she hadn't said no, merely not tonight. Good things came to those who waited. He would have lifted her to him, but being disoriented as she was, he opted for kneeling in front of her. Her kiss belied the no that came before it, but he was one to respect intentions and so unless she convinced him that she had changed her mind, he would respect her wish.
When their lips finally came to a clandestine parting. He savored the way her lips had tasted. "If you'd like Mina, I could stay the night and behave, until you have things settled." He oddly enough meant it as well, at times he'd said those very words only to find himself on a couch for part of the night until inhibitions were forgotten by the potential of what was just in the other room, however tonight, He wanted to ensure that she felt suffice confidence in her abilities, he could tell the nights events had shaken her a bit.
A slight shake of her head was all the answer he needed. He placed her things on the side table next to her chair. He lifted her hand to his lips. "I'll lock up on my way out."
More often than not, if his night ended this way he would simply head back out into the night to go on the prowl, tonight how ver he simply wanted to go to his apartment and soak in the spa, enjoy the night as it was.
