The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Jason had just made a stop by the hotel to pick up a fresh change of clothes before going off on his own for a bit to clear his mind. So much had happened today, so many things that would cause someone sick in the head to stop and rethink there choices was making Jason think of different ways he could have finished people off today.
With his mind still on the kid from the first house he was upset that V had got the kill. Ever since her first locked eyes with the little boy he had planed 50 different ways to kill him. In frustration Jason began to stop paying attention to the road and started hitting his steering wheel with his hand. Jason began to swear and curse V so much that he didn’t realize he had just ran a red light. As people blew there horns in the streets of New York Jason realized there was now a cop following him. Shit, he thought to him self quickly trying to figure out what was happening Jason pulled over trying to be unsuspicious as possible and parked his SUV. As he exited the drivers side door Jason made eye contact with one of the cops and walked off. After every twenty feet or so Jason would look back trying to see if the cops had followed him but nothing, nothing to worry about now.
Jason walked the streets for about an hour before thinking of his next step. He was going to have to get another vehicle but where… ‘Oh well.’ he said to him self. Time will just have to wait and see. Hmm Java Express he saw up on a sign maybe a cup of coffee and a new victim could free his mind for the time being.
Sonya/Teresa is not entirely clear what impulse brought her back to Java Express(o) in the middle of the night, long after finishing her errand with the mysterious Miss Katran. It certainly wasn’t a fondness for the smell of their coffee.
Granted, she’s been keeping much later hours lately than she used to, especially since she moved out of Calley’s apartment and into a local hotel. She’s enjoying the night-life more than she used to, and that’s only partly because of her increased night-vision... it’s much more because of the way New York changes its character at night. Everyone is more predatory, more dangerous… and she feels like she fits in better that way, now.
While she’s at the coffee shot she makes an attempt to find the woman’s scent-trail again, just out of curiosity… but she’s not surprised when she fails. It has been several hours, after all, and it’s a busy location. She thinks she can catch a trace of the woman’s scent, but it could as easily be her imagination.
She orders a hot chocolate, with plenty of whipped cream, and drinks it indulgently before heading out the door… not quite looking where she’s going, unfortunately. "Oops!" She bumps into the large black man by accident, recovers quickly, and does not allow her surprise at his mutant genome to show on her face.
Interesting! This place is becoming just as popular a mutant hangout as Insomniacs… I wonder what it is about mutants and coffee shops?
She can’t tell from the quick, accidental scan what this man’s mutation might be… it somewhat resembles Abyss’, but not in any particularly interesting way. Judging from the way the man carries himself and his massive muscles, though, she suspects he’s a fighter by nature, if not necessarily by mutation.
"Sorry… I wasn’t looking where I was going. My fault. Can I buy you a cup of coffee to make up for it?" Her tone is not particularly apologetic, but it’s at least sincere.

It was a nice change of pace for Jason. He sat there relaxed looking around. Taking in the scene’s around him watching the people go in and out, come and go as they please. If only he had this type of freedom. If only his kind were free to be them selves and not worry about the troubles, the issues that they had fight just to make it through the next day.
His body was finally relaxing. Jason could feel the cool breeze pass across his face and smell the sent of coffee beans filling the room. Not to often did Jason feel at piece but right now was one time where he felt he couldn’t be touched.
He raised the cup to his mouth of and took another drink. He began to think to him self again about the way things should be for him. The life he should be living not the life of a criminal humans were trying to patray him of living. Jason by far wasn’t the smartest he was always someone that just took orders but he new what he wanted and was willing to fight for it. He was willing to fight for his freedom true freedom. Just then his body was rocked. He felt a small jolt from someone and woke him up from this dream world he was going to one day make happen.
“Sorry… I wasn’t looking where I was going. My fault. Can I buy you a cup of coffee to make up for it?" said a voice from behind him.
Jason just gave a quick nod of acceptance and turned back around at his table. Now Jason wasn’t always someone that had to be a hard ass. Right now he figured he did enough for the day to begin cleansing mankind and if he cant kill another human why cant he have one waist a little money on him for once.
The man’s nod of acceptance isn’t the most companionable agreement she’s ever gotten to an invitation, but then again hers hadn’t been the most companionable invitation she’d ever offered, so Sonya/Teresa lets it go at that. "I’m Teresa, by the way. So, how do you take your coffee?"
While getting two coffees, she considers how to approach this one, and whether it’s even worthwhile trying. Her first read still seems valid – brawler, basically hostile. Add that to his mutant status, and she figures the chip on his shoulder is probably the usual “humans suck” routine. (Which, she admits dispassionately, they do… but no more so than anybody else.)
Which means her first move is probably to reveal herself as a fellow mutant… but it’s probably best not to do so in any way that lets him know she knows his status, otherwise he might freak. Only one approach comes to mind, and she winces in anticipation of the pain.
Along with the coffees, Sonya picks up a couple of spoons and a fork, and transfers the whole mess to Gore’s table before “accidentally” tripping with the fork in her hand, tines facing her palm. "Gah!" Her cry of pain is muted, to avoid calling attention to herself from anyone but Gore as the tines dig into her palm; she pulls the fork out quickly with a quiet curse and looks around furtively. Good, nobody else saw that except my new friend here.
She heals the cut with a thought as she sits down, wipes the blood off her palm and the fork surreptitiously, and slips the bloody napkin into her pocket. Then she makes eye contact with Gore and looks nervous. "Um… I guess you saw that, huh?"

“Ill take mine black.” Was all he said. He was pretty much done drinking coffee for the day as long as the money was wasted on him he really didn’t care. As the young lady walked away Jason could help but take a quick peek at what she was working with. Come on now, any guy is gonna check out a woman even if she wasn’t half decent and this one for a human wasn’t to bad at all. The curves were definitely nice, and the dark hair really brought out the looks. But as she came back he noticed she seemed to be accident prone. First she bumped into him now she was falling over her own feet, watching her spill the coffee was gonna be a good laugh.
But little to his surprise no coffee was spilt instead she ended up with a fork digging deep into her hand. ‘Now that looked like that had to hurt’ he thought to him self. But next was a little more then what he had expected. Anybody else would be dropping to there knee’s and screaming like a bitch. But this girl let out a quick little yelp and pulled it out.
Jason looked on in amusement. This little girl was a tough cookie. But when she healed her hand that’s what gave it all away. Now again Jason wasn’t the most brightest but she was more then a mere human. She had the gifted and liked what he seen. Not to many people these days would be so bold to use what the had in fear that it would cause trouble. And this one used it right out in the open, plane as day. Jason looked at her and could see something in her eye. “Yeah I don’t think you hide that all to well.” He said as he gave the chair across to him a little push, his way of offering her a sear. “So you don’t have no fear of who you really are I take?” He asked her trying to figure out if she was one of the weak mutants that in his eyes were and useless as a human or someone worth keeping around a little.
> “Yeah I don’t think you hide that all too well. So you don’t have no fear of who you really are, I take?”
Sonya/Teresa gives Gore a predatory grin. "Me? Nah. I’m not afraid of much, but I sure as hell ain’t afraid of that." She shows her palm as she says it, indicating the spot where the fork had cut her, now completely uninjured. "Usually it’s the humans I meet who’re afraid of it, and of me and my friends. You don’t seem to be, though… good for you."
She takes a sip of her coffee, and gestures to Gore to take his. "So… you got a name?"

Jason’s ears perked up when she said the words friends. ‘So its more then just her’ he thought to him self. Jason looked around to see if it was anybody in the room that may have been keeping an eye on here. ‘This could be some kinda set up.’ Jason’s eyes scanned the room. Nothing out of the ordinary just people have a cup of coffee so Jason brought his attention back to the woman sitting across from him.
“Nah… it don’t bother me pretty interesting I think personally.” he said as he studied her hand. He brought his attention back to her eyes checking to see if she was trying to make eye contact with anybody else in the room, but she seemed to still be locked on him. “My name is Jason.” he said as studied over the dark haired woman. “So you say something about people being scared of you and your friends? I take its more then just you?”
> “Nah… it don’t bother me pretty interesting I think personally.”
Sonya/Teresa smiles in relief at the man’s attitude… not that she’s too surprised by it, given his own mutant status. Still, just because he’s a fellow mutant doesn’t mean he can be trusted.
> “My name is Jason. So you say something about people being scared of you and your friends? I take its more then just you?”
Well, that was easy. She’d anticipated having to work a lot harder to bring the conversation around to that point. "Yeah, well… you know how it is. Folks like me … well, it’s a dangerous time to be one of us, y’know? We gotta watch each others’ backs, me and my friends. Never know when someone’s gonna stick a knife in it."

Jason began to laugh at her comment. “Yeah but the friends seem to always wanna stab you in the back first.” he said whipping the smile off his face. It was a kill or be killed time. And there were some mutants that wanted him dead just as much as the humans wish he would just keel over and die.
“But its only dangerous if you let it be. You have a gift why hide it? To tell you the truth..” he paused and leaned in closing the gap between the two. “I gotta little gift of my own.” he said as he broke into a bit of laughter. “So these friend’s you got do you all just hide out or what? Tell me a little more.” He asked as he leaned back in his chair. Jason’s mind started to travel back in time. He remembered the days when he ran with this group of mutant friends… Ahh how those were the day he thought. Jason was completely spaced out. Thinking of all the fun times he had but he was sure there would be some new memories in the future.
> “Yeah but the friends seem to always wanna stab you in the back first.”
Sonya/Teresa grins ruefully at that. "Yeah, point. Still, most of ‘em are clever enough to figure out that this isn’t the best time for infighting. Once the war is over, well, that’s something else again, y’know?"
> “But its only dangerous if you let it be. You have a gift why hide it?”
She shrugs. "It’s practical." She looks around the shop, indicates the guy serving coffee with a tilt of her chin. "See that kid? I go around announcing my gift, he might try to trip an alarm or something. Then I’d have to rip him in half. Which means I’d have to brew my own coffee. Which would suck. Easier all around to keep my secrets and let him make my coffee. Y’know?"
Privately, she wonders at her own explanation. Sure, it’s probably a more convincing line for this guy than some ramble about how humans and mutants should cooperate blah blah blah, but she’s surprised by her own sincerity. She’s fairly sure that, not too long ago, she’d have been lying about ripping the guy in half, but now… well, she’s probably strong enough, and she feels like she wouldn’t hesitate. It’s a strange feeling… she’s gotten used to wearing unfamiliar bodies, but she’s starting to feel like she’s become an unfamiliar self.
Not that I’m complaining. Certainly, whatever changes she’s gone through, they’ve made her a lot more effective. Less crying, more doing. She rather likes that.
> “To tell you the truth… I gotta little gift of my own.”
Do tell? She doesn’t bother to act surprised, just smiles a small enigmatic smile and takes a sip of her coffee.
> “So these friends you got do you all just hide out or what? Tell me a little more.”
"Some do. Some try and pretend everything’s OK and they’re safe. " She lets contempt show on her face at the idea, and adds "And some strike back. We’ve got friends in those concentration camps; we intend to get them out."
And, finally, that gives her the opening to bring the conversation around to where she wanted it in the first place. "Tell me a little about your gift, I might even be persuaded to introduce you."

“Well I guess I could understand that but still nobody more likely to stab you in the back then the person that you least expect it.” He said trying to be a little more serious then before. From Jason’s past it was always someone that was close to screw him over and the last promised he made towards him self was that he would never let it happen again… as well as if someone had to do it. It would be him that struck the first blow.
As the young lady gave a nod across the room Jason looked in the way she was motioning. “See that kid…he might try…rip him in half…my own coffee…make my own coffee, Y’know” she said. Jason just looked at her in awe his method of handling things was much more different.
“But if he is scared of you then he would be to terrified to sound and alarm, and if he was then just teach him a lesson by ripping the arm he used to sound this said alarm and see I you have any problems like that again.” Jason said letting out a short laugh. He looked over at the boy picturing him trying to serve the table with only one arm. Lately Jason has been finding joy in tearing peoples limbs off. The pain they show on there face the suffering in there eye as they bleed out … yes something Jason was starting to enjoy all to much.
“So yall plan on going back to the camps… I been there once and I aint going back by any chance.” Jason was full of serious now. “I paid my price. And I made those guards that did what they did pay. But I don’t think ders anything that’s gonna make me wanna go back.”
Jason stood up and looked at the humans that filled the coffee house. When he came in he was fine by their presence but now with the talk of the camps the stench they were giving off was now starting to make him sick. “How bout we continue this someplace else?” He asked. Cause if he stayed here any longer she would get a first hand look at his mutation.
> “Still, nobody more likely to stab you in the back than > the person that you least expect it.”
Sonya/Teresa nods, a small smile on her face. "Sure… everybody else, you don’t give ‘em a chance at your back in the first place. It’s like how you always find something in the last place you look, right? Once you find it, you stop looking." The smile fades as she adds "Seriously, though… if it makes you feel any better, I ain’t asking you to trust me."
> “But if he is scared of you then he would be too terrified to sound > an alarm, and if he was then just teach him a lesson by ripping the arm > he used to sound this said alarm and see if you have any problems like that again.”
She shrugs. "Except he might be enough of an idiot to pull the alarm… people do stupid things when they’re scared. And, sure, he’ll know better than to do it a second time, assuming I even let him live, but I still don’t get my damn coffee… plus I have to get the blood off my clothes, and deal with the cops, and with one thing and another my whole evening gets wasted when all I wanted was a cup of coffee and some interesting conversation, y’know? Just ain’t worth the hassle. "
> “So y’all plan on going back to the camps… I been there once and I > ain’t going back by any chance.”
Sonya blinks in surprise at that. "Really? Heh. You’re only the second man I’ve met who managed to get out of there… I’m impressed. But, anyway, yeah… bunch of us plan to get some of our own back against those f-----g machines, you know? Show ‘em they can’t cage us without paying a price. "
> “How bout we continue this someplace else?”
Sonya isn’t sure whether that was meant as a pickup line or a simple request, but she decides to take it as the latter. "Tell you what, Jason. I bet my friends would be real interested in talking to you about what you saw while you were inside… and you wouldn’t have to get anywhere near the Camps. I can take you there, if you want… interested?"

The minute she spoke about talking to people about the camps a shiver went up his spine. It was almost as if he seen a ghost. The memories of everything that went on were horrible. Of course he new a lot of the stuff he brought on him self. But still not even a mutant would do such a think to a human… Then Jason stopped and re thougth that last line real quick. Yeah he would be glade to do those things to humans.
“Well something tells me that your referring to the labs.” Jason said as his eyes rolled back in his head. The labs had to be the most boringest place in the world and he was far from wanting to go back to that place.
Jason stopped for a quick pause waiting for her to answer. As they made there way out of the coffee shop. He looked back in side and pictured everybody running around like crazy people if they new that they just shared coffee with some mutants. Jason turned back to the young lady. “So tell me where are we off to?” he asked.
Sonya/Teresa blinks in surprise as Jason mentions the Labs… she hadn’t expected him to already know about them.
Not that the fact changes anything, really.
She nods as they leave the coffee shop. "Yeah… that’s where I had in mind, it’s where most of my “friends” are hanging out these days." As they approach her car, she adds "Is that OK with you?."

Jason looked at the car door as if it was the doors to a jail cell. Other then going back to the camps The labs was his next place on the list he really didn’t wanna go. But he thought seeing that since something was pulling him back this must be the right place for him. He stopped looked back at the coffee house then back to the young lady. “Just as long as I don’t get dragged back into the camps im fine.” He said as he pulled the handle to the door let him self in.
He new it. Some how he was gonna end up back at the camps wither it be for getting arrested for the events that happened in the past hours or to help with this freeing of mutants thing he heard about the last time he was there. Jason closed the door and clasped in his belt. “You cant be to safe these days.” he turned joking to the girl next to him. And now it was time back off to the boring labs. The reason why he left was cause they were so boring. Then it hit him. It wasn’t too easy to get out how and why was she out.
“So umm… What you doing away from the labs?” He asked not really expecting to get a truthful answer
