The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"It's not a question of redemption as much as it is rank. No one below the command group was allowed to touch the artifact or face death at the hands of the goddess. Even returning from Canda I made sure not to touch it with my bare hands" she said, having kept it wrapped in cloth the entire way. She did not know about acts of redemption however. "If redemption is possible, it was never mentioned in the scripts, Though i did steal the artifact for the information it must hold within it, i have been to afraid to touch it" she said shaking her head. She knew full well that miracle at recorded many things on that laptop and that her answers likely laid within it.
"That may well focus my natural tendency to violence into something that doe snot make the news" she said recalling the various news reports she had needed up on. Most made her look like a monster, of course half them were from massacres. SHe liked live gun fire more which was why she habitually disarmed the rooms safeties. "Most of what i kill now are homeless people, loose woman, and gang members" she admitted as an after thought.
"The fear i have is that last time i diverted from the teachings, a tragedy occurred, if i gaze upon the holy text of that computer, i am afraid of the consequences for anyone close to me" she said honestly. Despite what the Abyss brothers and even other had told her, Aura could still only see the blood on her hands.Wa sher soul not already damned for her actions she wondered. Was it not her right as the last member of the group top try and confer with the gods through it.
The trio of brothers that were still awake, took turns ascerting their take on the situation and what Aura had been talking about that most interseted them.
“There wasn’t a succession of command? Typically if all the leaders die the next highest rank becomes the leader, so forth and so on, so that someone is always in charge. If so that would put you at the top rank of the forest Sect , wouldn’t it?” Saturn still attempted to navigate the girls wayward logic. He hated whatever cult she was involved in almost as much as he hated the humans they opposed.
Jupiter sighed. “Don’t let Venus find out about the loose women you’ve been Taking out.” He said with mock sincerity and then grinned. “he would, pretend the world was running out of their ilk. But yeah, wailing on the russians is fun too, they just don't have what it takes to handle us."
“If it is ever something you want assistance with, I would risk blasphemy for you.” Abyss answered in regards to the artifact. He stretched and and wondered if they could move this conversation to the cafeteria, but didn’t mention it as he thought that the privacy might be ideal for the conversation they were having. The last thing they needed right now was some Sanctuary member sticking their nose in and adding their two cents.
Succession of command? No it had never actually been mentioned at her level but that was not surprising. "Their was no chain of succession below the command group, we were expected to fight to the death if ordered to, to allow the Herald and Prophet to escape if need be. Outliving one's commander is a great source of shame. I watched friends fall simply to keep the command group in tact. As such their was need for it to go go below that." she said as if it should have been normal for the abyss brothers to understand.
This was uncharted territory and her mind was screaming at her to do it and be damned with the consequences. "I appreciate that Abyss but it wouldn't matter i would be allowing you to use it for me, my willingness in the matter, well does not matter. I justafied taking it to myself in that was preventing humans from touching it." she said. She decided to leave out that should thew artifact have come under attack, they were expected to die for it much as they would have the command group.
Aura overlooked Jupiter's comments on the mafia as her mind considered the new information. "I Suppose it would make sense, to continue the Goddess's work, for any surviving members to try and hear her word" she said slowly. It made sense to her weather that was because she wanted it to or not however she did not know. "The command group wielded massive power. We use to spar with them, not one of us ever landed a single blow on any of them" she said honestly at the time it had been a source of great frustration. It was rumored in the barracks that a great prize awaited the one who did.
"I suppose weather i wait and acidently disobey the words of the goddess or blatantly do so to ensure i am on the right path....either way won't be pretty" she said with a soft sigh. The concept of actually using the artifact, that she could use it was very exciting and very scary as well. "But would by removal of command, not make ineligible to secede in command?" she asked the burning question that rose in the back of her mind.
"I can only hope Russians are more challenging then the local gang members she said shaking her head a bit. She had a feeling no matter how this ended she was not going to end up as happy as she hoped.
“That makes a certain obscene kind of sense.” Saturn reflected. The same kind of sense that weeding out the weak made. Bad business in Saturn’s mind.
“Well, the offer stands if you change your mind on it.” Abyss accepted the answer and the reasoning. She felt she had committed her own crime and was following the act through. He could certainly respect that.
“Well, you have a diffrent crew at your beck and call, lets spread your goddess word and see if we can’t go find any of that command group. See if Jupiter can’t get that prize for you.” Jupiter only spoke in third person when he was getting cocky about a fight, he had no Idea what this command group was capable of only, that he hadn’t found something he couldn’t solve with a good punch in the face.
“Whats to say the Goddess didn’t support your decision, what is to say that she didn’t put the artifact in your hand for the very purpose.” Saturn urged her on.
Jupiter shook his head, “there are more of them, in a bigger network, but it all boils down to guys with guns.”
"The command group is dead, i buried them myself. Lambda died when a mortar landed on her bed, the resulting blast is what trapped me. I watched as they fought, Kobera incinerating men their they stood, Solkat impaling them with wood, Via crushing their internal organs with gravity. But their were to many and when solkat took the sniper bullet to the head, she carried miracle off the cliff with her. The bodies were shattered" she said recalling that results of the hundred foot drop the bodies had taken.
"Besides they were my friends, it is sad i will not be reincarnated with them, far to much time has passed for that" she said sad over that fact. It was a big reason why so many of the young mutants fought to the death, they would be reincarnated as children to rise again. The death was simply an inconvenience.
"well it is true i am still alive and that alone could be a sign of the correct path" she reasoned. It was hard to believe the humans had not taken the artifact. It was not well hidden at all, or it had not been before the forest reclaimed much of the area. "it always did seem strange the humans never found me" she reasoned in her head trying to find signs of the goddess favor. "so that means i could be meant to look at the information" she condluded aloud.
"it always comes down to guys with guns" Aura said which it always seemed to. In the forest they fought guys with automatic weapons. Here she often fought gang members and police and the Russian mob wa sjust one more gun toting gnag Aura could aim her anger at.
Jupiter wiped the cockiness off his face. “Oh, I didn’t realize. I didn’t mean to be disrespectful.” At least not to dead people, Nothing like talking about beating up someone’s dead comrades.
Saturn nodded. “It seems like Favor to me. At the very least it should be taken as a sign that you are still needed here. And you are definitely wanted.” The large red man reasoned.
Abyss shook his head slightly he wouldn’t mislead Aura that he understood any deity. “I’m not much for religion or demigods but we are here for you whether you want to serve a goddess or if you want to hunt men that run with German Sheppards. I’m going to go give Mars a call and see if he can’t start tracking down mercenary and military companies that used the weapons, dogs and tactics at the time you guys were attacked. Of course Abyss would focus on the human aspect of the problem, no matter the oddities of the mutant organization. They were put down by humans. Most of them were young and female. And that on top of the sisters he couldn’t find to know if they needed saving or avenging, it meant that some unit that looked and worked like the one that Aura faced was going to die a very painful and traumatic death.
"It's okay, they died fighting for what they believed in, and they fought. I honestly wouldn't mind fighting them again if i could. she said honestly. Fighting them had sucked as she never landed a blow on any of the command group. She shook her head a moment and had a deep sigh as she thought back to the old times. "Solkat and Kobera tended to treat me like child but they kept me safe from their more illicit enjoyments. Of all the people i knew and met, only Solkat seemed to enjoy the taste of humans
She smiled upon hearing she was wanted despite the current issue. It was good to know as her own faith was a bit shaken. Still the Abyss brothers had given her confidence and determination to tackle the issue she needed to. She knew before it was a matter of time before things got to bad, not to look at the Artifact, now she knew that moment was closer then ever. Aura was unsure of looking at it right away, but equally unsure of waiting.
Aura nodded to Abyss, and his determination to find the humans responsible. Aura had long felt this to be an impossible task, one that could not be done. Still she had figured stealing the artifact would be the death of her and yet she still stood. "They wore little that identified them, no name tags or symbeles and green camaflage" she said unsure what else mars would really need, their was a lot Aura knew of them
If mars needs anything else, i knew the group well she said honetly.
Jupiter nodded. Warriors dying a warriors death, it made perfect sense to him, his brothers seemed a bit more skeptical. “ that makes sense, though I would think the same of pigs, filthy and wallowing in their own mess, but fry them up and you’ve got breakfast.” The most warlike of the brothers, considered what he thought that Humans might actually taste like.
Abyss thought for a few. “ Do you know what kind of trees were in your forest, and how much ground your territory covered, that might help as well to locate the group. But I will leave any more integrating beyond that to Mars, I am sure he will try to ring ever drop of info from you that he can just to make his search more accurate.
Saturn looked to the young woman. “Do you need anything, clothes or what not or if you want anything. You know what.” Saturn handed her his Credit card. It would be accepted wherever she went. “Take my card, in case you need or want anything, don’t hesitate to shop with it, I’ve been doing fairly well in marketing.”
"We use to use spit's to cook them, as we did most things." She said. Of course their had never been much option. They never had access to electricity, Aura's mind halted at that and her eyes narowed, as they closed on something she never considered. "It makes no sense.....I....I just thought to myself, we had to use spit's because their was no electricity.......But if that were entirely true, miracles equipment should not have worked" she said not entirely aware she had started to work out her thoughts aloud. And if the equipment still sealed in Miracles bunker was any indication she had been consuming a great deal of power. "Never once did we have a mutant who could generate power" Aura said, unable to understand where such power could have come from, or for that matter how an entrenched bunker seemed to move with them, when away from the main camp.
Aura still looked rather bothered as she fielded abyss's question. "The plant life is tricky, Solkat was able to make a red wood 500 foot tall, in roughly five minutes, i can't tell you what plants are there, but even last time i was there, the unnatural growths would have been tough to miss. Solkat tripled the size of that forest. Even if i knew the names of the trees and the like, i could not tell you if they were even native to America" she said honestly. SHe knew to avoid poison ivy and how to find edible plants but beyond that she had no idea, and Solkats powers meant even plants that nature had never spawned could well be growing."If i had to guess however i would say two thousand acres when i got there, maybe four near the end" she said knowing the forest had become far bigger near the end.
Aura took the credit card, she had never used one before but she knew the general idea and found their concept easier to consider. She had no idea what marketing was and having grown up in a forest, she had littile taste in clothing. However Lori preferred she conduct business with clothing that was in tact. "Thank you, though i don't require much" she said which was true. The Sanctuary provided her with most of the things she needed. "ANd i would guess Lori would prefer me buying furniture rather then making it myself" she said as she considered the state of her mostly decimated room. Her raw ingredient Bones were also very hard to obtain in the proper quantities.
“That is a good clue to finding the bunker, once we are in the forest.” Jupiter nodded, gaining interest on the actual topic at hand, and as amused as he was about a human on a spit. He couldn’t help but think that there were plenty of mutants who looked human. It unsettled his stomach.
“And that is an even better clue to locating the forest, if the effects haven’t warn off with out solkat’s bidding then this forest should be fairly easy to track down, there is no way someone has noticed a forest taking over and becoming monsterously huge on in the time period it would have.” Abyss seconded, Mars would definitely be able to do something with that, and from there the rest would fall like dominos… .though if Mars could get a hold of that artifact, they could probably learn more than they would likely want to know.
“ no thanks necessary, and you can acquire all you like, that is still Knox money and we haven’t even really put a dent in it over the years. Besides you are one of the order you can access the spoils just like anyone else. Of course if you prefer to keep it simple then that is your call.” Saturn wanted to spoil his niece if he could. She certainly had some spoiling to catch up on. She managed to have a rougher child hood then they did.
Abyss shrugged about the furniture. “ I am sure Lori would prefer it, but I don’t think she will deny it to you either. I have to say though that I bet they have more comfortable items in the store.
"I can lead you to both, given i walked there, but by i know the way. I Acquired the Artifact there. It's out in the middle of no ware though, when we fought we rarely encounter normal humans unless we went out on a raid" Aura said honestly. "besides it would be nice to go back and look over what's there, last time i was convinced the Lord of souls would slay me then, now im unsure if i was not meant to take more. she said shaking her head it was confusing and things were not at all adding up.
"Miracle taught me the craft, by making furniture i learned control and a skill to use if i survived the war with humanity. Miracle said an army that idle and that you can not disarm, will eventually bite the hand that feeds it. So i was learning both" she said. Building with bone was delicate work, to much pressure and the bone became to frail to use for anything. She recalled practicing for hours at the skill, their had never been a material shortage.
"Bone is uncomfortable yes and the right ones are tough to quire.. Most lack the strength to support any real weight without breaking. That raises another point though, we began each morning by killing a human an then upon success got breakfast. Most of the humans were not fighters though it occurs to me i don't know how they got there. But that could be something i simply dont recall as well" she said os her somwhat suspect memories to begin with.
Jupiter Nodded, “we’re with you, it will give us a chance to drag Pluto out of new York too, he needs to bond more with us anyhow, kid has a screw loose lately. No lord of souls will be messing with you while I’m around. Jupiter nodded to that common sense it was something that the Order lacked at times, an active direction and so their troops flowed in and out and where ever they liked, then again they weren’t making an army, they were providing the namesake its due, sanctuary.”
“Human versus Mutant isn’t much of a fight even if they were fighters. Let’s send the info over to mars and tell him to meet up with us, the lets hop in a van and or a plan and get to where we need to be.”Jupiter demanded and Saturn looked to Abyss. Mercury and the skunk seemed happy to be oblivious.
Abyss, shook his head slightly we will need at least a day to process the information and to settle things here for our absence but tomorrow, yes. If of course we can afford to wait the day.” Abyss looked to Aura.
