The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

She hadn't even been here a few days and she was already getting into trouble. This was great! That thought alone made a sly smile play across Kiya's face. Though, it quickly disappeared as she rounded the corner, so as to not look suspicious.
So, casually, Kiya walked around the corner, if she peaked around, and the room's owner happened to be there, it would immediately set off red lights. Which would most likely get her into trouble, and that was a big no no. Not that she cared, she had been in trouble most of her life, she could handle whatever this school could dish out. Right?
She was lost in though as she creaked the door open, it slid on it's hinges effortlessly, on a slight noise accompanying the movement. Luckily for Kiya, there was no one there that she could tell. But just in case;
"Anyone here?"
She called out in the most timid, girlish voice she could muster, which was quite impressive for a girl like Kiya. A voice that surely would convince anyone that she wasn't up to no good. Hopefully. Getting no reply though she quickly set to work. Launching herself, she slide across the top of the bar and landed with a slight 'tap' of her shoes on the tiled floor of the other side. She was in!
Kiya wasted no time in locating the mini fridge that held the alcohol. Score! This night was going to be great. A sadistic grin moved along her face again as she reached out to grab the first beer. She was so concentrated on what she was doing, she didn't even notice that she had company.
Not in the creepy, teen-stalker way; but Gawain was now officially a Mansion greeter, and he was going to greet new people even if they did not want to be greeted. He was going to greet the lights outta them.
The girl was young - about the age he was when he first walked into the Mansion. And she was following the exact same route.
Well, almost. She was not walking through mirrors. That was just as well. The mirror world was not big enough for both of them, after all...
Gawain slipped from one mirror to another; when he was sure about her intentions, he found a shortcut. By the time she found the fridge in Sam's apartment, he was watching her from a nearby mirror. Which just happened to be the same one he used oh so long ago, when he was doing what she was about to do. Namely, stealing booze from Sam's apparently not-so-secret stash.
"I wouldn't." the guy in the mirror said, with a smirk playing on his lips.
Kiya nearly jumped at the voice. Nearly. She, with a sigh, placed the beer back on the counter, stood up, and brushed off her pants. With a growl she turned to search the room for another occupant, seeing none did not unnerve her nearly as much as it would have a human. Besides, Kiya had seen more disappearing act then this.
When her gaze caught the mirror hanging over a small dresser on the far wall, her eyebrows raised slightly as she was greeted with the form of a boy. He was only a few years older then herself, but he looked much more experienced. Wait, experienced in what? It didn't matter, Kiya quickly struck out at the mysterious character hiding out in the reflective surface.
"What do you want?"
She snapped, her voice hard enough to cut through steel. She glowered at the boy, obviously telling him she was ready to fight if she needed, though her stance was completely casual, almost laid back. Almost, but not quite. She was itching to see how powerful some of the 'students' here really were. Kiya guessed this scrawny boy would have to be fun enough. For now.
She took this short pause to size up the boy. He looked a bit on the small side, almost girly, but Kiya had learned not to judge a book by it's cover. Though, it did help when people thought she was a weak little girl at first glance, though, she always made them pay. She absolutely HATED being called weak, though, not that she would allow anyone to know. No, she was much happier with making them pay for their insolence.
Besides, first impressions can always be used to deceive. It was a rule Kiya had come to live by.
Cafas walked in right when the girl behind Sam's bar had started snapping at a mirror, which could mean only one of two things, one, Mirror, or two, nuts. Both were equally likely given their location. He held in his left hand a case of CS' favourite beer, because Cafas was nice like that (or more accurately, had received it free thanks to a coupon from a magazine, and didn't like the stuff). He walked to a position where he could see into the mirror, found Gawain, and feigned tilting his hat, which was not there, because he didn't wear hats indoors.
Stealing booze from the boss man. Well at least they'll get along.
Cafas set the case on the floor carefully before addressing the room. "Greetings Mirror, finding your way around just fine I hope?" Cafas at least found himself funny. His attentions then turned to the person he was yet to meet, She looked young; too young for the alcohol she appeared to be attempting to pilfer. Still, it may be amusing. "G'day, getting in to Mr. Johnson's stash are we?" It could only end well.
Kids these days...
The Australian turned to address mirror once more. "I dunno, I say we let her, see how many she gets through, then watch what the boss man does to her. What detention do you think this time, android attack? Ooh, maybe the puzzle room, you remember the one with the one guy that shoot flames from his mouth? I mean sure they don't kill you but that danger room sure punishes mistakes." He winked subtly at Mirror, the edges of his mouth turning upwards slightly.
Whoa. Feisty. And she was not surprised by a face in a mirror that was not hers.
"To warn you." he shrugged with a smirk. Really, that was all.
And then, Cafas walked in as if it was an open bar and not Sam's secret stash.
>>"Greetings Mirror, finding your way around just fine I hope? G'day, getting in to Mr. Johnson's stash are we?"
Gawain stared. Finding his way around?! He was a Mansion greeter!... Dammit, he was the Mansion greeter!
>>"I dunno, I say we let her, see how many she gets through, then watch what the boss man does to her. What detention do you think this time, android attack? Ooh, maybe the puzzle room, you remember the one with the one guy that shoot flames from his mouth? I mean sure they don't kill you but that danger room sure punishes mistakes."
Gawain huffed, stepping out of the mirror.
"What, all I got for raidin' the stash was a black eye, and she gets the puzzle room? Don' seem fair to me. She didn' even have to go through Bruno. Where is Bruno anyway...?"
The dog was nowhere to be seen. Nor was the cat. Bummer. Back to business.
"It's for your own good, miss." he smirked "Been there, done that, guy turned me into a friggin' X-men for it..."

Unlike anyone else about Drew had no particular reason to be near Sam's room. Truth of the matter was that he was just wandering the hallways and happened by there. The chatter within was what drew him in. None of the voices he heard belonged to Sam. In fact he could only really place one of them. So he ambled in, hearing unknown guy speculating out loud what punishment Sam would assign to the unknown girl for snagging some of his beer. Drew couldn't help but notice the case of beer on the floor near the unknown guy. Settling for leaning by the door he waited and listened for a few moments. Gawain and the other guy were filling out the responsible and semi-responsible roles well enough and it was only a beer. He'd loosened up enough recently to not care so much about drinking and what not. So long as it didn't cause too much of a headache Andrew didn't care. There were other fish to fry, so to speak. Drew cut across the last thing the unknown guy said.
"Ah, it's just one beer. No harm in it. If Sam didn't want to share then he should've put a lock on it."
With a slight smirk, Drew nodded to Gawain in the mirror and then took a moment to look over the guy he didn't know. Not bad to look at and he brought beer. Drew liked him already. Getting a closer look at him like this made him fairly sure that he'd seen the guy around once or twice. But they'd never interacted and Drew had no clue what his name was. Making sure that his gaze didn't stay too long on the man it drifted over to the girl that had been caught at filching Sam's beer. She was easily too young to legally drink it. A person didn't learn if they didn't make mistakes. And really, keeping a fridge with beer in it in a school was just asking for it to be raided time and again. Next time he saw the man Drew would suggest replicating the Danger Room security for his beer fridge. That might keep the kids out for a few minutes.
Kiya had gone perfectly still while they talked. Well, this was getting bothersome. It wasn't as if she didn't like human contact, it was just that when people talked about her while she was in the same room, standing right by them no less. It was nearly as bad as someone ignoring her because she was a girl, shoot, that was practically what they were doing. In her eyes at least.
She nodded her head once, lazily, at the seemingly Australian man. It was as good of a hello that he was going to get, especially with all the intrusions. Anyways, Kiya nearly snickered as the one known as Mirror complained about the punishment. She had heard of this so called "danger room" though, she had never experienced it first hand. Who knows, maybe it would be fun.
It could even be an adventure...
Kiya's head was turning as yet another soul entered the room. She noticed him and gave him a quick one over as he leaned against the door frame, and just as quickly noticed his build. He was, in all honesty of the word, hot. His chiseled abs went well with his lazily slicked back hair. And his eyes, they looked deep and mysterious, yet, strong enough to hold any man to his word. Plus, there was the fact that he didn't care that she was stealing a beer. Yeah, this was definitely her type of guy.
>>"Ah, it's just one beer. No harm in it. If Sam didn't want to share then he should've put a lock on it."
All Kiya could do at this, was smirk. Yeah, this was definitely going to like it here if there were more people like him. She had also been wondering what an X-Men was. Sure, she had seen the comics, but, they couldn't be real. Could they? It didn't matter though, it wasn't like she was going to become part of them any time soon. Right? Anyways, she grinned maliciously as she held up quite the impressively sized pad lock.
"It did."
Something resembling a snicker and a laugh escaped her as she set the pad lock on the mini fridge. She waltzed over to the case of beer on the ground and picked it up.
"Now, if you gentlemen don't mind. I think I'll be taking my leave."
Kiya said in a voice seemingly to perky for her. With that, she began to make her way towards the door.
>>"Ah, it's just one beer. No harm in it. If Sam didn't want to share then he should've put a lock on it."
And then Andrew had to chime in too. Where did he even come from?... Gawain had not seen the guy around for months, and then he decides to show up just to undermine his authority. And to be checked out by a fifteen-year-old. Cradle robber.
>>"It did. Now, if you gentlemen don't mind. I think I'll be taking my leave."
"Whoa whoa" Gawain stepped up behind her; not close enough to be threatening, just close enough not to be ignored. At the door, there was Andrew, and between them, Cafas. Even if she managed to go around the Aussie, Drew would stop her. Either because he was a responsible trainee, or because he was too damn hot not to stick to. Duh.
"I don't think I caught your name" he smirked at the girl "Are you new around here?"
Translating into: are you a new resident we need to deal with, or did you just sneak in like yours truly?...
So she came into the X-leaders room, broke into his bar through a pad lock, then proceeded to take the warm beer? True genius. However Cafas had cut that coupon out and damned if he was letting his work go to waste. He steeped in front of the girl, though how wise that had been (given he had no idea what her mutation was.) was extremely questionable. "Yes, unfortunately for you, that beer will not be leaving with you." With a single fluid motion Cafas had pulled a small blade from his pocket, stepped next to the girl, and cut the handle off the case. The beer inside clattered as it jolted onto the ground, from where Cafas picked it up and held it on his shoulder.
Now I don't care if she leaves.
Though Mirror seemed to, and they were a team, and he still owed him/her for the time he'd smacked her/him into a wall. He really needed to work on that temper... His knife was placed onto the counter and Cafas resumed his position of between the girl and the door, with a wave to the guy who was standing there but certainly not actually helping. Cafas made certain his hold on the beer was firm. "You didn't want this anyway, it's warm."
Doubt it would stop the teenagers from excitedly guzzling it like it was the best thing since birthday presents were invented.
Cafas was beginning to wish Sam hadn't banned him from stabbing kids, and refused to retract the ban no matter how nicely Cafas asked.

With everything that happened Drew wanted to laugh. The girl had apparently broken through a padlock to get Sam's beer. Ah screw wanting to laugh he did laugh. Between Gawain trying to be responsible and the other guy siding with Gawain the girl had little chance of getting out the room with that beer. There was also the fact that none of them recognized her which meant she almost certainly hadn't been through the whole greeting process. Drew watched the two others work with a grin on his face. After the other guy put the beer away Drew grinned at the girl apologetically.
"Sorry, even if I was inclined to go against these guys, and I'm not, they could both knock me into next week if they wanted to. No beer for you I guess."
Sure he didn't care that she'd been sneaking a drink but Drew wasn't about jeopardize his standing with one of the X's he knew for some random kid. And a kid she was so he totally ignored her looking at him the way she had. Crappy to nonexistent love life or not, Drew wasn't about to start taking up with high schoolers. That was ten different kinds of wrong.
"'Sides, sneakin' into the boss's fridge for a beer isn't the best introduction you could make."
Drew nodded at the guy he didn't know, his name would be George until someone corrected him, when waved at. Introductions could wait until they'd sorted out the girl. Then, to solidify the fact that he wasn't going to help her, Drew slid sides to block the doorway. Just call him Mr. Bouncer. Or don't because that sounded really silly. Good thing he hadn't actually said it. In either case, playing his part as a possible future X-Man was more important than some random girl. So though he didn't care at all one way or another he'd help out Gawain and George.
Kiya sighed, why did it have to be so hard for her to have a good time? She deserved a little slice, or gulp, of heaven on earth too, right? It didn't matter, the boy with the red hair had made two very stupid mistakes.
1) He had taken her beer without her permission 2) He had left a sharp object in her reach.
One was definitely the greater of two evils, she just didn't know which one. Then, they all had the audacity to stand in her way! THAT wasn't going to fly. A dark look grew in Kiya's face, she had a plan, and that was never a good thing for people that got on her bad side.
Her eyes began to swim with read, not quite the furious red they could extend to. Well, it was now or never, and Kiya didn't like waiting. So, with a sigh, she began to count;
"One... Two... Three. Three of you to take down little ol' me? I'm honored, really."
The tone in her voice was anything but though. A sadistically sweet and maliciously sarcastic tone was all that was heard as she spoke.
>>"'Sides, sneakin' into the boss's fridge for a beer isn't the best introduction you could make."
"Do you really think I care a rat's ass about first impressions? Besides, first impressions are always used to deceive."
She spat out the first sentence with as much hatred as she could muster. But, the second part was as sarcastic as before, and hinted that she had had a lot of practice with that tone of voice. This was getting boring, Kiya was either going to get her beer either with or without a fight. She didn't really care which, the first idea was easiest, but the second idea was more fun. So, without a second though, Kiya initiated her plan.
In an instant, she swung towards the red haired boy. Sticking her leg out, she spun or body to the right with as much force as she could, using the tork in the spin to propel her foot faster. She wasn't planning on landing the kick, and, in fact, didn't. Though, when she landed she continued to spin to lurch her other foot out to kick at his gut. Whether it landed or not, Kiya really didn't care, she was only interested in one thing; the knife.
As she on both feet in a crouch, she lurched forwards and barrel rolled over the bar, the knife's handle sliding firmly into her grasp in the process. As she landed on the other side with a 'tap' of her shoes on the floor, she grinned at her new opponents. It was a sadistic thing, full of nothing but the need for their deaths, who knows, maybe one of them wouldn't walk away from this fight. Kiya could never be sure that she wouldn't loose herself in the ecstasy of blood shed.
"Alrighty boys, now the REAL fun begins."
With a cackle, she wasted no time in driving the knife into her arm, ripping it across the length of her upper arm. Blood began to drip, pooling on the floor around her. Crimson gold, it's possibilities endless. Now, it was their decision, either stand and fight, or leave her to her beer...
Cafas took his beer back. And left a knife on the counter. Big mistake. Gawain's eyes narrowed. They did not know this girl. And she looked... not sassy in a girly way. She looked wild. Maybe not Aura-wild, but definitely Megan-wild. Gawain realized that even though he was not the oldest in the room, he was definitely the highest ranking person. On X-men terms. Damn.
>>"Sorry, even if I was inclined to go against these guys, and I'm not, they could both knock me into next week if they wanted to. No beer for you I guess. Sides, sneakin' into the boss's fridge for a beer isn't the best introduction you could make."
Heh. That was the introduction Gawan made two years ago... and it worked out just fine. But of course there was no use telling the girl that. At least Drew was not gonna let her go just because she looked at him with those eyes.
>>"One... Two... Three. Three of you to take down little ol' me? I'm honored, really. Do you really think I care a rat's ass about first impressions? Besides, first impressions are always used to deceive."
Oh yeah. Teenage angst. Me against the world. Runaway, steal beer, take on all the big guys. And still have time to check out the sexy one. Duh. Gawain had the girl all figured out. He used to be like that. ... All right, so he was still like that. Not the point. ... He moved at the same time as her. He was in the mirror by the time she flung herself over the counter and had the knife in her hand. He would have to talk to Cafas about leaving sharp object within children's reach...
>>"Alrighty boys, now the REAL fun begins."
Sh*t. The girl just stabbed herself.
That was not good. Gawain moved in one fluid motion from the mirror to the reflecting surface of the countertop (God bless Sam for keeping it clean and shiny); the next moment, he was pulling her in, warm blood and blade and all. It was about speed. She still had the knife, and just because she had hurt herself, that did not mean she would not hurt others.
A pull, a spin, and Gawain backed the hell out of the mirror, leaving the girl in there, trapped.
Oh, She was trying to intimidate them, that was cute. Red eyes, sarcasm, words spun with threats, it was nothing new. Cafas almost laughed. It probably would not have been wise to go taunting her more though. The knife was on the bench anyway, he was sure she'd go for it, which would either put her with her back to him or on the other side of the bar, either way, advantage team Cafas. He didn't bother responding to the guy in the door, it didn't need a response. Cafas looked to Mirror and smiled, and in that brief moment of distraction the girl was in action and across the bar, down the other side.
Amateur...
Cafas turned his gaze back to her as she made some comment or other, didn't matter to him; he had his hand rested on the hilt of a second blade. He kept his beer aloft, just in case. Mirror was gone, probably doing his normal trick, and right as Cafas' eyes darted towards the mirror to check the girl... Stabbed herself. It took a brief second but next he saw Mirror take the girl into the mirror with him (Which Cafas had not known he could do...). A moment later Gawain was standing in the room properly again, making some form of retort.
Don't waste your breath.
"Slick moves, sorry about the knife, I figured she'd go for it if she was mad but I didn't count on her stabbing herself." Cafas waved to the mirror that housed their thief. He turned to the doorway; extended his free hand to the guy he didn't know and stepped toward him. "Cafas Johnson, pleasure to meet you." Perfect gentleman, not at all the type to run young girls face first into walls. The newcomer seemed intelligent enough.

His eyes widened as he watched the girl. Not from shock or fear. No, Drew had seen enough that her actions didn't even register a blip for those two emotions. More it was disbelief that the girl would go and do something so stupid as to get into a fight. In the mansion. With at least one X-Man. It was beyond stupid. Especially since they had a counselor that could negate her mutation just by standing near her. In fact, once Gawain had her settled in the mirror Drew couldn't help but laugh at her.
"Are you serious? Trying to pick a fight in the middle of this place?" a snort of amusement escaped him that he couldn't have stopped even if he wanted to, "You're either full of yourself or stupid. Maybe both."
Maybe he could have been a little nicer or tactful about that but that was a serious lack of foresight. Even he wouldn't have been that dumb and Drew had been pretty rash at times. He smirked over at Gawain.
"Quick thinking there Gawain."
With that all taken care of Drew turned to George who was introducing himself with a hand held out for shaking. He took the offered hand and gave it a shake.
"Andrew Leroy. Good to meet ya, Cafas."
That done, Drew slouched lazily against the door frame. The excitement was over for now.
Sure, the kid's action took her by surprise, but only slightly. She had seen what the kid could do, and that was a big mistake.
Rule number one: Never show people what you can do.
As he grabbed her all she could do was twist around in his grip. There was one beer sitting on the counter, most likely forgotten by the one with the red hair. Her hand shot out, and the beer fell nicely into her awaiting grip. As she was thrown into the mirror, blood still dripped from her wrist, there was some on the counter and ground now, but, she wouldn't recall it until later. Besides, she could always make more, in fact, her body already was. As blood slowly dripped down her arm, she picked up the beer.
Kiya tapped it on the top multiple times to make sure it didn't explode on her, now THAT would be embarrassing. she then plopped down on the... ground? Sure, the ground, or whatever she was on. She stretched out, perfectly calm. One leg lay in front of her casually, the other was pulled do her chest slightly so she could rest her elbow on it. Her wrist was still bleeding as a steady pace as she used the arm to from herself up.
>>"Are you serious? Trying to pick a fight in the middle of this place?" a snort of amusement escaped him that he couldn't have stopped even if he wanted to, "You're either full of yourself or stupid. Maybe both."
Kiya nearly choked on her beer as she laughed. Was this guy really serious? With another chuckle, and a shake of her head that was nothing but pure dull disgust, she said.
"God, men really are utterly, stupidly oblivious. Aren't they."
With another chuckle she lazily brought the beer up to her mouth and finished it. Crumpling the can, she tossed it aside. Yeah, she cared about Mother Earth, hell she lived on it. But this? This WASN'T Mother Earth now was it. So, disregarding the can, she stood up, brushed her pants off, and walked to the mirror.
She brought her dripping wrist up to her mouth, biting down, she made the blood flow.
"Now, if you don't mind, I've had enough of your stupidity."
With a snicker, she ran her wrist all over the mirror until it was nearly covered. There was one spot left, and , before it was covered, she threw out a wink, and she was gone. The blood red smears hung lick a thick certain over the mirror on her side. So, being the only mirror in the room, they now had no way to see what she was doing, atleast, not from this room.
It wasn't like she was doing anything bad though. She was just meditating. She smoothly sat and crossed her legs, all in one fluid, practiced movement. She let her eyes close, her heartbeat and breathing falling into one fluid movement. And, she was gone. Now, nothing would wake her until she was completely ready, and healed enough, to get up. So, she sat there, completely still. One could almost say the would have been able to see the sides of the gashes closing. Almost.
((-Stares at her post.- Wow. -Blinks.- Never thought it'd be that long. o.o))
