The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

>>“Well, like I said, her name is Jasmine… And don’t make fun of her name, because I already joke her about it, her full name is Jasmine…Honey Blossom… We actually met once before, out on the grounds, before Gina set me up with her on our blind date. She had uh, knocked me on the head with a soccer ball. But, you know, her sister goes here so she visits all the time. She actually goes to Kingsbridge Academy High School and plans to take up Botany at the college when she graduates. She has an affinity for plants.”
Svetlana did giggle at the name. Just a tiny little bit. It was a very pretty name though. Rare, but very pretty. And judging from the photo, it did suit the girl perfectly. She seemed nice.
She also giggled at the soccer accident. That seemed to be a recurring theme in teenage mutant relations. She was sure she heard that one before....
"Nice" she nodded approvingly, noting the blush "Sooo... did something happen?"
Something must have. Agnes was blushing, and it was the nice kind of blush. The happy blush. Not the one she got just moments ago, talking about Jude, which was a different kind. Agnes did look like Jasmine Honey Blossom made her happy....
"She makes you happy." that was not a question.

Agnes waited for Sveta to finish her giggling. It was small and innocent mostly. She giggled when she heard Jasmine’s full name, and then she giggled again when she found out how the pair of them met. But Agnes could not hold it against her. It really was quite funny how the pair of them had met and Agnes loved to actually think about it. So she giggled along at the appropriate times along with Sveta. This time with her friend was really some of the best that she had had in a long time.
With a sigh, after another small laughing fit, Agnes shook her head as she felt her cheeks. Wow, he could actually feel the blush as it crept up across her pale skin. She couldn’t believe that thinking about Jasmine actually made her blush that much. Then again, Agnes was a particularly innocent girl so most things made her blush to begin with.
But at this she simply had try to calm herself down. Unfortunately Sveta caught the sight of her ruby cheeks extremely quick.
>> "Nice…Sooo... did something happen?"
Agnes looked up, shaken from her thoughts and once more turned crimson. She shook her head adamantly as she tried to calm down the flush on her face. It was another few seconds before she finally took a breath and just smiled back at her friend.
“No, nothing…we-we just kissed. That was all,” she explained with a firm nod. “Just one, on top of that.” One that last awhile, but one nonetheless!
She sighed.
>> "She makes you happy."
A smirk ran across her lips as she tilted her head, glancing at the spot where her picture was and then back to Sveta. She nodded in response.
“She really does,” She breathed as if this was the first time she could ever say something like that. “She does make me happy.”
>>“No, nothing…we-we just kissed. That was all. Just one, on top of that... She really does. She does make me happy.”
Sveta smiled and nodded.
"Good. You deserve that."
She really did. Life was good.
"And now, ice cream." she grinned, opening the box and handing a spoon to Agnes. There was no need for any fancy thing like bowls. It was simply about the ice cream.
"I don't know how I can date a mutant yet." she admitted, enjoying the taste of vanilla and chocolate chip "But I guess dating is not easy anyway..."
*italics are spoken in Russian* Thanks to Siren for the sig and avi!
Agnes beamed in response and nodded her head. “Thank you. You definitely deserve it too.” She raised her soda can in salute before she finally took the final sip from the can and set it aside. It felt good talking about this with her.
>> "And now, ice cream."
“Oh god, yes!” A laugh flew from her throat as she leaned forward and took the spoon from Sveta. With a grateful sigh, she waited for her to open the container and reveal the vanilla and chocolate chip ice cream goodness that awaited them inside.
One the container was open, Agnes waited for Sveta to get the first bite before she dug her spoon into the frozen treat and placed her own spoonful into her mouth. The sweetness and chill was good and counteracted the heat she felt on her cheeks from her blushing.
>> "I don't know how I can date a mutant yet…But I guess dating is not easy anyway..."
Agnes smirked and nodded.
“Amen to that.” Agnes went for another spoonful as she rest back against the bed with a contented sigh. “I don’t think dating is supposed to be easy at all. Us being mutants, well, that just makes it more interesting,” she grinned.
>>“Amen to that. I don’t think dating is supposed to be easy at all. Us being mutants, well, that just makes it more interesting,”
"I know" she smiled. Ice cream did make everything better. Even mood that was fairly good already. It was just nice. And sweet. Both girls deserved that. By the healthy spoonful, of course.
"I just hope dat I can date him without putting the city in danger" she smirked, clicking her tongue; it was starting to tingle from the cold "I don't want to wake up vid everyone turned to stone or something, because we made out. Dat is nooot very romantic."
Not at all.
*italics are spoken in Russian* Thanks to Siren for the sig and avi!
Agnes sighed as she took another bite of the ice cream. Why couldn’t things just be easier sometimes? Did they really have to fight so hard all the time to get the types of things they wanted? Did everything really and truly have to be such a struggle? Both her and Sveta were nice girls, they never tried to do anything bad or were mean to people. They simply wanted to live a nice and quiet life…
…was that really so much to ask?
Thoughtfully she rolled the melting bit of ice cream in her mouth with her tongue as she tried to keep her thoughts on the here and now. They are both happy. They needed to focus on that and not on any possible future difficulties.
>> "I just hope dat I can date him without putting the city in danger…I don't want to wake up vid everyone turned to stone or something, because we made out. Dat is nooot very romantic."
She snorted in response and grinned. “Yeah, on top of that everyone would know exactly what the two of you were doing, so, where’s the fun in that?”
Though Agnes joked, she also knew that it was an issue that Sveta had to deal with. She really liked this guy, and yet, their powers nearly makes all of New York jolt awake with the jitters. That was going to be a hell of a hurdle to get over…but Agnes had faith that Sveta knew that things could and would work out.
“Don’t worry,” she said with a grin. “I’m sure with practice you’ll be able to control your abilities and then, maybe one day, I can even give you a hug.”
>>“Yeah, on top of that everyone would know exactly what the two of you were doing, so, where’s the fun in that?”
Although she blushed at the idea, Sveta still grinned and nodded. Agnes was right. Being loud and the neighbors hearing you is one thing; kissing a guy and the whole city knowing it is another. Of course, most people would not connect a city-wide neural bomb to two mutants making out; but at some point, rumors would start to spread, and nobody wanted that...
>>“Don’t worry. I’m sure with practice you’ll be able to control your abilities and then, maybe one day, I can even give you a hug.”
"Awwww" she smiled at Agnes "Dat is something worth practicing for."
It really was. She wanted to hug Agnes too.
"I think I can do it if I keep trying. But it takes time, you know?" she tilted her head at Agnes "How are you doing with your powers?"
*italics are spoken in Russian* Thanks to Siren for the sig and avi!
Agnes grinned and nodded in response. “I like to think so.”
Sveta was her best friend and yet Agnes couldn’t even hug the woman. That was a harsh reality of their lives. She wanted to be close to she, she wanted to be affectionate and friendly, but she couldn’t touch her. The last time she did, her mutant powers when crazy and that was more than enough to last her a long time. Instead she tried to consciously keep herself at an arm’s length. It was better for the both of them.
But there was always that possibility, that one day…
>> "I think I can do it if I keep trying. But it takes time, you know? How are you doing with your powers?"
“I’m doing okay,” she took another bit of ice cream, her knees up to her chest as she sat back against the bed. “It takes a lot of training and concentration but I think that I’m slowly beginning to get a handle on them. I don’t smell bad anymore!” she particularly grinned at this. That was really one of the more embarrassing parts of her powers. But now that she was training, she was slowly getting better at controlling it.
She shrugged as she glanced to Sveta.
“What about you?” she asked earnestly. “Any luck?”
>>“I’m doing okay. It takes a lot of training and concentration but I think that I’m slowly beginning to get a handle on them. I don’t smell bad anymore!”
Sveta giggled. Not like she thought Agnes smelt bad before, but she knew the bugs were drawn to her for a special scent she had. Controlling that sounded about as hard as controlling her own power boosting abilities. That was good. If Agnes could do it, it was possible that she could do it too. That made her smile with excitement.
>>“What about you? Any luck?”
"Not yet" she admitted, licking some more ice cream "Well, I should practice more. You know. With actucal practicing." she giggled "Probably not with Jude. He distracts me..."
In a good way, of course.
"But I will keep trying and see what happens..."
*italics are spoken in Russian* Thanks to Siren for the sig and avi!
>> "Not yet…Well, I should practice more. You know. With actual practicing…Probably not with Jude. He distracts me..."
Agnes laughed; actually and truly laughed out loud. Maybe that was never Sveta’s intention for the comment to be so humorous but the visual in Agnes’ head at the comment was enough to make her laugh and keep on laughing.
She shook her head as she toyed with her spoon. She imagined Sveta trying to concentrate around a handsome man. It was cheesy and yet so utterly sweet. Trying to do something serious around someone who cared about you in that way would prove to be difficult. She remembered a few times when she needed to study or practice her violin and Rhythm proved to be just as much as a distraction as she assumed Jude was being.
She smirked as she took another bite of ice cream, her laughter finally coming to an end.
>> "But I will keep trying and see what happens..."
Agnes nodded. That was all mutants like they could really do, just practice until they could figure it out. Then she thought for a moment before she turned back her.
“You know, it may not seem ideal,” she said gently, “But if you ever want a practice partner that, you know, won’t distract you, I’ll volunteer. Maybe we can help each other get a better handle on our powers.”
She beamed at this idea. It her best one yet. Why shouldn’t she help out a friend in need?
Agnes laughed. Sveta laughed too. She knew Agnes what she meant. Boyfriends - or, on Agnes' case, girlfriends - tended to be distracting.
>>“You know, it may not seem ideal... But if you ever want a practice partner that, you know, won’t distract you, I’ll volunteer. Maybe we can help each other get a better handle on our powers.”
She nodded slowly, smiling, and eating some more ice cream "That... sounds good. I mean, we could, go to the danger room or something, and practice where it's safe. I think I would like that." she nodded again. She trusted Agnes. And trust was something very important, when it came to her powers...
"Yes, I would like to practice with you. I think we could get more work done than me and Jude." she grinned
*italics are spoken in Russian* Thanks to Siren for the sig and avi!
Agnes watched as Sveta thought about her proposition. While the concept did seem a little scary, especially because they already have had an experience where their powers mixed, it was probably better to attempt it because they knew what their reactions would be. They knew how their powers mixed and they knew what to expect.
A little training wasn’t such a bad idea. At least to Agnes…
…And apparently Sveta thought the same.
>> "That... sounds good. I mean, we could, go to the danger room or something, and practice where it's safe. I think I would like that."
Agnes nodded enthusiastically. “Just the place I was thinking! I think would work best there, that way it’s a contained environment. “ she was liking the idea more and more.
>> "Yes, I would like to practice with you. I think we could get more work done than me and Jude."
A happy grin crept across her face as she nodded thankfully to Sveta. She was glad that they would be doing this together. Agnes needed to get some more practice in with her abilities anyways since there was always more she could work on. And if at the same time she could help out her best friend work through her own powers, then that was sweetened the deal.
She nodded.
“Then it’s a deal. You help me and I’ll help you!” she announced. Then a winked at Sveta. “So…his name is ‘Jude’, huh? Sounds cute.”
