The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

The girls smiled and turned and Sam’s attention slowly shifted back to Drew who seemed confused on the matter Sam had started discussing with him. Not knowing what he was thinking Sam tilted his head, ”A team meetings and briefings for the X-Men is for all members unless told other wise. Trainees and team leaders were supposed to be there. I thought I told you a while ago…” Sam took a sip and set his drink down. It had to be two months at least since Sam had told Drew right? He was informed he was on the team; he was on the roster after all one Sam kept up to date.
”Gawain was even there on time, I thought it was strange you didn’t show, figured you had a good reason not to be there right?” Sam asked looking back to the dance floor no longer seeing the three girls he smiled at seconds before. Looking back to Drew he suddenly remembered, ”Come to think about it… I never did tell you did I?” Sam lifted his beer and raised it, ”Welcome to the team…” Sam smirked ignoring the fact he forgot to tell Drew the few months before, ”We have more reason to celebrate now right?”
Chuckling at his own mistake Sam took a sip of his beer, ”Next briefing is this Sunday…” he set his beer down and clapped his hands and leaned back in his seat letting his arms flop on the top of the booth. ”So first official act of an X-Men?” he asked hoping Drew had a good response.

Sam was acting like he was already on the team instead of just trying to get on it. Unless he'd made the team and Sam had neglected to mention it then something was up here. However as Sam rambled on it became abundantly clear that, to the head honcho of the X-Men, he was already a member. That was what he'd thought the lead in was hinting at but Drew hadn't been sure until just now. Sam confirmed it moments later. He was an X-Man. Well, a trainee anyway. It'd be a while yet before he made the full team he figured. Still, just getting to trainee was quite an accomplishment in his eyes. It was something he hadn't thought he'd ever be ready for. He still felt inferior and unworthy truth told but Sam didn't need to know that. He'd just work at it until he deserved the spot he was being given.
Circumstances now were a lot more complicated than Drew had ever thought they'd be if he ever made the team. It was difficult to try and juggle the two loyalties he had. He'd never intended to end up with Martin for a master but it had happened none the less. The time might come when he had to give up one loyalty for another but it hadn't come yet and now he was part of the X-Men.
"Guess I'd better make sure I show up to the next meeting then, huh?"
Drew chuckled and smirked. Heck, if Sam's comments were right then according to him he'd been an X for a while and just hadn't been told. That would have been awkward. First official act as an X-Man huh?
"Drinks with the boss and then...dunno. General purpose hero stuff? Saving kittens and little old ladies and all that?"

”Guess you should.” Sam said confidently, as he added, ”Told you before heroics are on hold tonight, your mission is having fun.” Sam said knowing that this night had a potential to go either way. ”sides we can get you on natural disaster level when the week is out.” Sam said jokingly as he took a sip from his drink and noticed out of the corner of his eye the waitress appearing with the round Sam had requested. She set them down and lifted one of the shot glasses and raised it into the air, ”Cheers!” Sam said as he lifted the colored liquid in the small glass and handed one to Drew.
Slamming the shot back Sam smiled to the waitress and added, ”Well need some more soon, so don’t go to far.” the waitress smiled to Sam and taking the now bare tray with her, ”So we have almost a dozen shots several beers that need drinking. Sam let out a small laugh, ”Alright got the shots and…” Sam looked up and noticed one of the three girls heading closer to them, ”Right on time!” Sam said as he lifted the shot up towards one of the three girls who happened to be a brunette. ”Was wondering when you were coming around.” the girl looked slightly surprised and smiled politely taking the drink from Sam’s hand slowly.
”How did you know we were going to come over here?” the girl asked curiously, ”I got you girls in here and an abundance of shots, not to mention you three haven’t stopped looking over here.” Sam pointed towards the other two girls who were now staring at the Drew himself and the girl by the booth. The two quickly looked away and the one before he and Drew blushed, ”How about we quit playing games and you three come get your drinks?”
Sam smirked to Drew when the brunette before them waved the other two girls over, ”Fast track.” Sam said lifting his beer and cheering it in Drew’s direction.

Drew grinned tentatively. Drinks and ladies tonight. X-Men stuff later. Though if Sam thought that Drew wouldn't be preoccupied with it for a while he had another thing coming. Becoming an X-Man was something he'd sort of dreamed about ever since he'd heard of them properly. The fact that Kealey and Sam could both be counted in their number just added to his zeal. So yes, the ladies were good looking and booze was good (as nearly all free booze is), Drew's mind was still partially elsewhere. Deciding that he needed to step up his training. Wondering if he should find a weapon. And emphatically deciding that there was no way he'd be wearing spandex or anything of the sort, a la Saph. Nice to look at if you had the body for it but no, not on this Kentucky boy.
Turning his attention back to the conversation Drew sat at Sam's side and smiled. Might've been called a grin but it was more a smile. Sam was great at this but considering his reputation around the school that wasn't very surprising. Facts were that his boss was attractive and a good talker. Drew figured it'd be better to let him do most of the talking and was proved right when the three gals joined them for drinks. He smirked at Sam when he toasted and Drew picked up his beer and toasted right back.
Right now was time to forget all the important stuff and enjoy himself. So once the ladies were seated and he'd quaffed some of his beer, Drew smiled at them.
"So, what lovely names might you lovely ladies have?"
