The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

>> "I was hungering for some really good icecream… I'm like a disease, you can't get rid of me-- no, but in all seriousness, I was just hungering for some icecream, and this place sounds so good with how everyone talks about it-- figured I'd give it a whirl."
Agnes just grinned at her sister’s response. She knew Gina well enough to know when the girl was telling the truth. She knew how the young gargoyle could get when she had a hankering for ice cream that was not being immediately resolved. The thought made her giggle though. When her sister got it into her head that she wanted something sweet, it was simply best to not stand in her way. Agnes realized this early one which was why she knew how to make truly awesome chocolate milk.
But as she explained to Gina that she was with someone and asked if she wanted to join them, her little sister seemed to joyfully accept…
>> "Sure! I mean, if this isn't a date, or anything?"
“Wha?” Agnes asked with an immediate blush.
She glanced down to the tiled ground and shook her head emphatically “no”. This was not a date, at all. Emerald was just doing something nice for her. Yes, Emerald was thoroughly cute and most definitely attractive, but Agnes still felt the wound of her break up with Rhythm. Much time had passed but that did not mean she was ready to just start liking someone knew. So despite the almost savage appeal that Emerald did possess, Agnes was not going to allow herself the pitfall of falling for someone again. Not…so soon.
But that did not mean she did not look up to the wolf-girl. She had a strength and corresponding beauty that Agnes could only hope to mirror one day. Yes, people were scared of her, but she also had an inner strength and sweetness that Agnes hoped to possess herself. Maybe, by being in Emerald’s pack, some of that would rub off on her?
She sighed as she just snorted a little and shook off the blush.
“No, nothing like that Gina,” she said with a small smile. “She’s just a friend, treating me to a milkshake. Besides, I still hold faith in you to find me a date when you think I’m ready,” she grinned as she wrapped her arm around Gina’s shoulders and pulled her along. “Now come on, I wantcha to meet me friend.”
As she said this she waved at Emerald to show that the pair of them were coming to the table. Hopefully Emerald would not mind the overly huggy gargoyle that Agnes loved and adorned as her sister.
Emerald was glad when Agnes ran over to greet her friend or “little sister” as she mentioned earlier. The she-wolf had no knowledge of the fact Agnes had a younger sibling so she sort of assumed it was ethier an adopted younger sibling or just a good friend who was like a sibling. It was similar to how Gawain/Maya views her and the rest of the Lupin family. Something, that people who got really close tended to view each other as. It was here the she-wolf assumed that Agnes must have went through that whole evil parents thing near Gina or something of that nature, causing them to grow closer as a family.
Whatever the reason, Emerald waited patiently for them to eventually head on over to the table, becoming lost in her own thoughts. The blue eyed werewolf took a chance to glance over at Agnes and the Girl in question who was most notably mutant. At least I’m not the only obvious mutant around here Emerald thought with a small grin on her face. Right when she turned back around she heard the end part of the conversation involving the word date. Even though Emerald had enhanced senses, this didn’t mean she could always hear everything around her. Especially since she was off her guard at the moment so when she heard that last bit of conversation she was a little confused.
Though, she only heard the word date though and that could mean a variety of things. With a small shrug, the she-wolf decided to not think too far into it. She figured that it would be better that way. Right before the two turned back over to the wolf girls direction, Emerald quickly ordered a BLT Burger, her stomach demanding meat after her sugary meal. This was the problem with being a hard core carnivore, she always needed some form of meat in her belly. That and meat was an essential part of her diet as a wolf so she needed to have it a lot in order to keep her strength up.
Emerald glanced over at the two once again and saw Agnes wave, signaling they were coming over. The wolf girl gave them a hand motion, beckoning them to come on over, flashing them a wolfish grin with those sharp teeth of hers.
“Come on over, I don’t bite.” The werewolf called out, that grin staying on her wolfish looking features.

>> "Wha?"
Agnes sputtered to a stop, her face going red, and Gina chuckled, giving an apologetic shrug. What was she supposed to think? It was only two of them, and Gina couldn't be too sure. Agnes shook her head assuredly, and Gina's chuckle faded into a smile and a knowing nod. Agnes shook it off, clarified for the innocent, forward gargoyle.
>> “No, nothing like that Gina-- She’s just a friend, treating me to a milkshake. Besides, I still hold faith in you to find me a date when you think I’m ready-- Now come on, I wantcha to meet me friend.”
"Okay," Gina agreed as Agnes waved at Emerald and tucked her petite sister under her arm, to show that they were coming over. Gina followed her with a grin, accidentally bumping into a chair as she followed. Okay, so she couldn't maneuver through these claustrophobic tables and chairs settings very well, but Gina brushed it off with a short laugh of alarm. Any friend of Agnes's was good enough for her-- after all, she was probably choosier than Gina was.
>> “Come on over, I don’t bite.”
Gina arched her eyebrows at Agnes, smirking at the funny choice of words. She wasn't afraid of Emerald, even if she had this fiery-headed, tough girl reputation going for her. Gina was a pretty resilient girl herself, so if she were afraid of people who were tough, she'd be a hypocrite. You'd have to be out of your mind if you weren't at least a little bit intimidated by her though.
Despite the cramped seating arrangement, the sisters made it over to the table in one piece. In Gina's case, with a little added turning sideways and cautiously edging past patrons. Gina smiled as the designated table was nearly within reach, and turned her attentions towards first impressions. Would such a tough girl be a hugger, or a handshaker? Gina hated shaking hands. Yet, as she got to the table and wriggled out from under Agnes's guiding hand--
Gina extended her hand for a handshake, and introduced herself.
The walk back to the table was slow and just a little clumsy. Agnes loved her little sister but she did have some difficulty when it came to maneuvering around tight spaces. Once or twice she heard a chair skid out of place and someone grumble, but nobody outright said anything against her sweet Gina. Which she was glad about. She did not want to have to get mean towards some random customer of this diner today. Especially not with she was only out with Emerald’s invitation. This was her place to business too…
Glancing to her sister, she gave her a warm smile as they headed back to the table and immediately she felt that blush again. How could Gina just assume that she was here on a date. Then again, maybe it did kind of look like that. After all, she was here, with a girl, alone and sharing a meal. Isn’t that normally how dates go? To be honest Agnes was a little lacking in knowledge in that department. She and Rhythm had never really dated all that much before they broke up. They hung out together but there was nothing as intimate and sweet as sharing a meal.
She would have to try that one day. Unfortunately she knew that Gina was also probably still hunt for her prospective date. That would be something that Gina would never let go, not until the actual dating started anyways.
But, she had faith in her sister. She wouldn’t foist just anyone on her.
She sighed as she returned to reality and waved at Emerald once they returned to the table.
>> “Come on over, I don’t bite.”
Agnes smirked a little at Emerald’s comment but said nothing. She glanced at Gina and her sister seemed perfectly fine with being there. It was obvious that Emerald’s reputation did not seem to bother her younger sister in the least, which was good. She would have hated to put Gina in an awkward position by disliking the young lady she was in a…pack…with. Then again, she shouldn’t have been surprised. Gina was like a ray of sunshine that simply could not be contained. Very little dimmed her glow.
What surprised her most of all was that she did not go for the hug right away. What was this? A handshake?
She beamed. “Emerald, this is my sister.” Agnes said as she motioned to Gina.
>> "Hey, I'm Gina-- nice to meet you."[/i]
Agnes beamed as she looked between the two and slid into the seat next to her sister. She tried to give Gina as much room as possible since she did not want her to be uncomfortable. Silently she looked between the two. First impressions were always the most interesting to watch…
Once the girls began their treck over to the table, Emerald took this chance to relax all the while getting a good look at her new visitor. She looked like a gargoyle to the young wolf mutant, so this was what Emerald assumed her powers to be or at least thats what she hoped.
While this seemed sort of obvious, Emerald once knew a guy who had scales all over him and his ability was to blow pink bubbles that exploded. So she figured she should never judge a book fully by it's cover. Besides for all she knew the younger girl could have been a flying purple people eater and she just wouldn't look strange to Emerald. The wolf girl had seen an awful lot after all.
What Emerald did happen to notice was the fact that Gina showed no fear when she came over to her, which was good because this meant the she-wolf wouldn't have to tread so carefully round her. Though, she was Agnes' sister so she would be nice of course.
The two sat down in the booth and Emerald would hear the cook from the Kitchen that her burger would be ready in a few minutes. With an acknowledged thumbs up to where the kitchen was she would turn to the two, her tail making quick appearance with a swift wag.
Once Gina's hand was stuck out, the she wolf would jump on the oppertuity to return it, her own big hand reaching out to grab onto the smaller girls hand. With that trademarked wolfish grin of hers Emerald would shake Gina's hand firmly, trying her best not to grip to hard.
"Nice to meet ya Gina! My name is Emerald," She would reply. She would stop shaking Gina's hand after a while, hoping she did shake the girls arm off. The fierce redhead would tuck a stray strand of troublesome hair behind her ear. "So, do you want anything to eat? I'll treat ya since I get a discount, Agnes filled up on just one Milkshake somehow but I'm ordering a burger myself."
The comment to Agnes was clearly joking, judging on the laugh that Emerald let out right after the comment left her mouth. Though she did worry that Agnes may turn into a Scarecrow if she only ate at lunch. The part about treating her newfound companion was not though. The wolf girl really wanted to be viewed as nice for once and she didn't mind providing for others.

After Agnes's short introduction, and Gina's introduction in lieu of that, Emerald practically leapt out of her seat to exchange handshakes.
>> "Nice to meet ya Gina! My name is Emerald."
Gina's hand twinged at the strong handshake, but Gina didn't show it. She smiled and, after handshakes had been exchanged, Gina took her seat. A menu followed shortly, placed on the table by a waitress who quickly bustled away.
>> "So, do you want anything to eat? I'll treat ya since I get a discount, Agnes filled up on just one Milkshake somehow but I'm ordering a burger myself."
Gina flipped it to the back, bee-lining for the icecream, but she didn't survey the menu until after tossing Agnes an arched eyebrow. Filling up on just one milkshake? She knew her sister was skinny, but-- wow, one milkshake? Maybe Gina was just really good at putting food away...
Emerald let out a loud guffaw which, if it hadn't been for that laugh, Gina wouldn't have known it were a joke. She chuckled, not only at what Emerald had said, but also at the fact that, for a moment, Gina hadn't thought that she was kidding.
"Are you sure?" Gina checked, reconsidering her selection. She was just in it for the ice cream, but was now considering a smaller dish with the potential that someone would be spotting her for the meal. Gina smiled and went on, "I'm just here for some icecream." She was looking at some fries, too, for some saltiness to counter the sweet, but... not if someone was paying for her.
>> "So, do you want anything to eat? I'll treat ya since I get a discount, Agnes filled up on just one Milkshake somehow but I'm ordering a burger myself."[/color]
Agnes felt a blush reach her cheeks at the mention of how quickly she filled up on one milkshake. While she knew that it was not a big deal, she still felt kind of funny about the comment. It was almost as if she were feeling a little bad for not taking advantage of Emerald’s offer to pay for more. It was not that she was not grateful, she simply really was full. That was it. And considering her background, it was of little surprise.
The home in which Agnes grew up was not one that indulged sweets and such. As a matter of fact she probably did not get a real proper taste of ice cream until she was in high school when her “friends” had made her hang with them at the mall in which they all enjoyed some. It was hard to believe that the teenager had limited experience with something as much of a cornerstone as ice cream, but it was the truth. Her parents were hard when it came to enjoying the overly sugary snacks of the oppressive and corrupted government.
On top of that, when Agnes lived on the streets, she had to ration her food. She had to learn to live off the smallest amounts and keep herself going. It was an unfortunate side-effect but it was something that she indeed lived with. Because of it, it did not take a lot of food to fill up her stomach. Maybe one day she’ll get over it. But for now…one milkshake. That was all she needed.
With a smirk at Emerald’s comment, she relaxed a bit and nodded.
“But it was a reeeeeeally good milkshake.” she said with a nod.
She turned to her sister and smiled a bit as she looked over the menu. She had turned the page and began to look over the selection of French fries. Huh…those did sound good. She nudged her sister in their usual manner.
“Hey, you wanna split an order of fries? I could definitely try some of those,” she said with an eager nod.
Secretly, Emerald really hoped she didn't shake Gina's hand too hard, because she had been known to do that. She had also been known to accidentally say the wrong thing, as Agnes knows which also caused Em a great deal of inward worry. Not that she showed it on her face though, Emerald kept up that disarming or perhaps slightly scary, wolfish grin on hers.
"Of course I'm sure, besides I work here anyways so I get a pretty big discount when I bring customers around," Emerald responded easily, nodding little at the two. At Agnes' comment she laughed a little, it was true it was a pretty big Milkshake, bigger than most chain restaurants would give to a customer but since they weren't at any other chain restaurant, Moe's gave them especially large helping of food.
Speaking of especially large helpings, out came Emerald's hamburger which seemed to be already prepared for her and was delivered swiftly to the table by one of the female waitress. It seemed that the kitchen had known she was going to order the massive burger with all the fixings so they had made in beforehand this time.
With an absolutely eager look on her face, Emerald dug in to the massive burger, the biggest, most happiest look on her face as she did so. Chewing down the large bite she took with her sharp teeth, Emerald would look at the two.
"Like I said order whatever you guys want, the food here's top notch and I swear I'm not paid to say that." Emerald told them, right before she took another healthy sized bite.

>> "Of course I'm sure, besides I work here anyways so I get a pretty big discount when I bring customers around."
"Wow, you work here? That's really cool," Gina said with a grin. From her fifteen-year-old standpoint, so long as it wasn't fastfood, it was really cool. Restaurants such as this didn't constitute as fastfood. This certainly explained the discount.
>> "Hey, you wanna split an order of fries? I could definitely try some of those."
Thank you, sister-telepathy. Gina bobbed her head, grinning.
"That would be fantastic! Some saltiness to counteract the sweetness," Gina agreed. And, Agnes would be having more than just a milkshake, which meant that her older sister's eating habits were one thing she wouldn't need to fret over. Since the two of them had collectively decided on fries, Gina focused more on the icecream now.
An enormous burger was brought to the table and set before the wolf-girl, at which Emeralds' eyes lit up with anticipation. She hefted the big burger to her lips, and took a rather hefty bite out of it. And, as if that were not enough, she began speaking while she munched.
>> "Like I said order whatever you guys want, the food here's top notch and I swear I'm not paid to say that."
What table manners! Gina thought, chuckling. As Gina wasn't much of a Miss Manners herself, she said nothing. The same waitress that delivered the plate turned her attention to Agnes and Gina after depositing the plate before Emerald.
"What can I get for ya, today?"
"May I please have a small hot fudge sunday?" Gina inquired, closing her menu. The waitress nodded and inquired, "Anything else?"
Gina glanced at Agnes, "May we split an order of fries too, please?"
The waitress nodded, took the order down, and looked toward Agnes, "What about you, hon?"
>> "Like I said order whatever you guys want, the food here's top notch and I swear I'm not paid to say that."
Agnes beamed at the notion, as well as Emerald’s response. She had yet to try the food but the milkshake that she was drinking certainly did have an excellent taste. Therefore she was really not going to argue with Emerald on that point. She could only imagine how the rest of the food here tasted.
That was why, as she eyed the French fries listed on the page, that Agnes wanted to have a taste of them. They did sound delicious and judging by the way that Emerald was eating her burger and the extra large and healthy bites that she was taking from it just drove her closer to the edge of wanting to sample something else. Though she definitely could not finish a whole burger herself, she could share something with her favorite sister in the whole world.
Hence, her suggestion to split fries…which Gina agreed to readily…
>> "That would be fantastic! Some saltiness to counteract the sweetness,"[/i]
“That really does sound good,” she grinned as she sat back and waited for the waitress to take Gina’s order.
As Agnes sat back, she had to admit that she always wondered where her little sister put all that food. She had an appetite that rivaled most men, but as Agnes watched her order the hot fudge sundae, she had to chuckle silently to herself. Gina was certainly an enigma because despite all the sweet that she ate, none of it ever seemed to show upon her. In a way she made the runaway a little jealous but she loved her none the less…
>> "May we split an order of fries too, please?"
She was shaken from her thoughts as the ordering began to revert back to her. The waitress had accepted their order and turned her eyes upon the pale runaway…
>> "What about you, hon?"
Agnes looked up but immediately shook her head as she showed her she still had a fair amount of her milkshake left.
“I have sufficient, thank you,” she said with a nod and grin. “Besides I’m sure those French fries will be more than enough.”
