The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Vincent grinned at Jade as he scratched behind her ears. At first it had taken a little while to get used to Jade displaying her affection for him in her husky form, but he had quickly grown to love it.
“I pitty the poor sod who tries,” he said with a smile, “You have to either be very brave or very foolish to mess with our family.”
Jade's ears flattened a bit, looking at him with her eyes watering a bit. She let out a soft whine, tail curling around legs.
"So which one was Fusionist?" Jade asked, licking her husband on the cheek gently. She let out a tiny whimper, "They took our girls and for the first time, we couldnt do anything to stop it."
Vincent’s eye’s hardened as jade mentioned Fusionist. “He’s dead,” he said coldly. That man had done more damage to their family than anything else on earth. But at the same time he had made them all stronger. The next time someone came to rip them apart they would be ready, and whoever it was would be sent packing.
Jade shook a bit licking his hand. "He may be dead, but there is no way we can ease the pain of what happened to our girls. We dont know what happened when they were taken." Jade whined
Jade wished she could take her little girls back to there childhood and keep them safe, to hold them again but she could not. It was hard for her to come to terms with the fact tha they grew up without her.
Vincent knew what Jade was talking about. He too was greatly hurt having missed his children growing up. So much so in fact that he had began work on something, but dismissed it as a foolish fantasy. On hearing Jade’s feelings he decided to mention it.
“Well what if we could see their childhood, experience it for ourselves?” he asked her, “A while ago I started work on a machine that could transfer memories from one person to another.” He left the comment hanging in the air to see what Jade would make of it.
Jade's eyes widened a bit, she had never thought of going into her childrens memories. Though she knew her heart would proably be broken by seeing what Fusionist really did to her children. But then again what would be a better way to soothe them than seeing what they went through first hand.
"Our girls, they consented to this? We should do it...maybe it will be alot easier to comfort them." Jade stated, turning back into her human form. She still laid like a dog on Vincents chest, but her look was purely human.
Vincent stared up at the ceiling before saying, “I haven’t told them about the machine. The reason I stopped building it was I thought it might be too big an invasion of their privacy.”
As far as he was concerned this would be worse than reading their diaries, something he would never do without consent. But he really wanted to know what they had gone through, and this machine could allow that.
Jade wrapped her arms around Vincent gently. She understood how he was feeling she felt the same way. But if this was a way to comfort her girls she was willing to do anything.
"Maybe some time in the future we could finish it. If the girls let us see a few memories, it could make things easier." Jade told him, kissing him on the cheek. She nuzzled her head into the crook of his neck.
“Yeah, maybe,” Vincent said as he wrapped his arms around his wife, “But for now I’m happy to just be your fluffy teddy bear.” He felt contented to just lie there with Jade in his arms.
But his mind wondered back o the machine. He wondered if it had been a mistake to bring it up, or even to make it. But, what was done was done. And besides, they still hadn’t decided to use it yet.
“That you are,” said Vincent with a smile and a kiss, “That you are.”
*****
Vincent sat in front of the television flipping channels. He’d finished up work for the day in the lab and was now searching for something worth watching. When he flipped to the news he paused as he read the headline story.
“Jade,” he called out, “I think you had better come and see this.”
It had been several months since the incident with the nightmare and Jade felt as if she was ready for anything. She walked into the room, and looked at the Headlines on the screen. Apparantly she and Vincent had tuned in just in time.
"After the events today at King Phamacuticals between the X men and the group that one of our Inside sources called the Order. A congress member has managed to foward his Idea of a mutant registration act through to the president. It had unamious votes of approval through the senate and the House of representives. Now the President must approve it, this act would entail registering mutants and instant imprisionment for those who do not comply. The hunt for mutants is on."
As the broadcast ended Jade looked at Vincent, her body trembling. "Vincey...the girls. They could be in danger."
Vincent turned to Jade, a look of resolve in his eyes. “We have to warn them,” he said simply, “Emerald and Ruby can’t stay at the mansion. There are too many mutants there, it’ll be a prime target. They can come here, to the island. We can keep them hidden, keep them safe. If anyone ever comes to inspect the island you can all shift to your canine forms and I’ll tell them I like to keep exotic dogs.”
There was no way he was going to let the family be pulled apart, not again. He would do everything he could to thwart any and all attempts to pull his family apart, no matter what it took.
Jade shook her head, tail drooping between her legs. She licked her teeth a bit before speaking.
"Vincent you know the girls will want to stay at the mansion. Emmy wants to protect that little girl she has been taking care of and Ruby will want to protect her boyfriend. It will take an act of god to get them away from the mansion."
Jade wanted to take the girls away as much as Vincent did. But she had a feeling that was easier said than done.
Vincent sighed and rubbed his temples. Jade was right, prising the girls away from the mansion would be easier said than done. “What if we offered to take in the boy and the girl as well?” Vincent offered, “They would be safer here than at the mansion.”
He knew it was a long shot, but he couldn’t think of anything else to do. Also he had Sapphire to worry about, but she would fare better than the other two, as she’d know how to keep herself hidden from prying eyes.
