The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

“It’s about your,” she paused, looking for the right words, “feral attitude. You are very aggressive for a little girl, and that is just not healthy.” She had spotted Emerald’s hands clenched into fists, further proof that she was right.
Emerald arched a brow at her grandmother. She never had really thought about her feral attitude.
"Grandma, Its fine. Mama always said I was fine the way I am. " Emerald replied with a defiant look. She looked at her the same way Jade had when she had snapped at her. "I like acting like this."
She recognised that look and scowled. “You need to show your elders some more respect young lady,” she said tersely, “And you are not fine acting like that, it is most unlady like.”
“You should endeavour to be more like Sapphire, she is a proper young lady. You on that other hand are quite the little brute and if you’re not careful you will end up in a lot of trouble.”
Emerald snarled, though it wasnt really that indimidating comming from a three year old. Though it still must have been a surprise. Tears brimmed in the little girls eyes.
"Im not sapphire! Im me! I can be like Sapphire if I wanted to! Im a proper lady, I just have sharper teeth."
Vincent’s mother was a little taken a back by the snarl she calmed herself before retorting, “Well if you can be more like Sapphire then you should, as you are a damned site closer to an animal than any sort of lady.”
She saw the tears in the child’s eyes, but was certain that she was saying what had to be said. It was for Emerald’s own good, or at least that’s what she kept telling herself.
“Not yet,” she said severely, seeing Emeralds distress but ignoring it for what she believed would be her benefit, “but eventually you will become so comfortable with violence that you’ll start attacking people for slight offences.”
“Are you telling me that you have never hurt anyone? Not even someone who might have teased you?” She found it hard to believe that Emerald hadn’t lashed out at someone at school.
Emerald looked down at the ground, bottom lip quivering.
"He hit me first! He hurt my shoulder and he called mommy bad names..."
Emerald whimpered and whined like a terrified puppy. She wanted to go home, or at least to Grandma Pearl's house. She was never this mean to the little girl.
"Why are you being so mean to me....I didnt hurt you."
“I’m doing it for your own good,” she explained, “You’ll be better for it in the long run. If you can control your aggressive nature you will become a better person. You shouldn’t have hit that boy, you should have informed an adult of what happened and they would resolve in in a non-violent manner.”
Her tone was condescending, implying that Emerald was currently failing due to her nature.
Being a three year old, Emerald was still in a slightly confused state. She clenched her fists feebly as tears ranning down her face.
She stood up and ran away from the table, slamming the door to the guest bedroom. In there Ruby was all nice and clean, ready for bed when she saw her older sister, crying she crawled over to her and laid her head on her chest.
"Sissy...what wrong?" Ruby asked wipping the tears out her older sisters eyes.
Having cleaned up Ruby Vincent headed back into the dinning romm just in time to see Emerald dash off. “What was that all about?” he asked as he sat back down.
“Oh,” his mother said casually, “she’d finished and asked if she could get down, so I said yes.”
Shrugging Vincent polished off the rest of his jelly, before clearing the bowls into the kitchen, smiling at Sapphire who was munching on a cookie. With the bowls cleared he headed towards the guest bedroom, and opened to the door to find Emerald crying and Ruby hugging her.
Kneeling down next to the pair with a look of genuine concern on his face he asked, “What’s wrong Emmy?
Emmy looked up at her daddy, bottom lip quivering. She couldnt tell him what had happened, the little one didnt want him to be mad at his mommy. Em rubbed her head as if she had gotten a bump on it.
"I bumped my head and it hurts." The child replied, "Are we going home tommrow?"
Ruby noticed Sapphire comming into the room, She let out a soft coo to her when Sapph put some cookies in Emerald's bag.
Vincent saw Emeralds distress and desire to go home and assumed that it was from missing her mother. “Come here Emmy,” he said, hugging his little girl and kissing her forehead, “Don’t worry, we’ll be home with mommy tomorrow.”
He saw Sapphire put the cookies in Emeralds bag and mouthed a thank you to her that Emerald couldn’t see. The thing he was most proud of about his daughters was how they always looked out for one another.
