Jade nodded slowly and thoughtfully. "I know Vincent but thats how Emmy handles things. I mean the kid is quick witted but I think she rather use her fists to make her point. And personally I blame myself for that one. Im not a very good role model for ask questions then hit."

“I know honey,” he said hugging Jade and giving her a kiss, “I’m just worried about her getting hurt is all. So so long as she keeps winning I don’t mind,” he said with a grin.

“Oh, and before Ruby said that she took the tail off her lizard, made it so it would rattle and glow in the dark and then reattached it. The kid’s a natural with machines, she can even say Dreadnaught’s name.” The happiness was clear on his face, one of the kids was into robots, what more could her ask for?

Jade rolled her eyes at Vincent. She wrapped her arm around his shoulders tail wagging back and forth. She hugged her husband tightly,

"Vincent...I think I was being followed today. By some of Fusionist's men, Emerald started growling and I froze a trash can and I heard alot of running. I think he may be looking for me...i think he wants the girls!" Jade whimpered, looking at her children.

Emerald had shuked all the corn and had fallen asleep on the table. Sapphire was painting nearby and Ruby was playing with her Lizard happily.

"There just little girls. They need us, if they take them away who knows what they will do."

Vincent frowned in concern when she mentioned being followed. “I won’t let him take our little girls,” he said, wrapping his arms around Jade, “He’s caused enough grief for this family already, I won’t let him cause anymore.”

“I’ll modify the girls toy tonight so that they’ll warn us if the girls are in trouble and be able to defend them until we arrive,” he was already thinking of how to best arm the little robots to fight of any would be attackers. The day Jade was almost captured was still fresh in his mind.

He hated to think what would have happened had he not brought Dreadnaught along, and it seemed clear to him that the girls each needed their own robot guardians. Any Fusion Corp employee who comes to try and take the girls would not have an easy time of it, especially if he arrived in Dreadnaught.

Jade nodded slowly, laying her head on his chest. She was scared, she didnt know what was going to happen to her baby's.

"Our daughters are strong, we are strong but I have had this feeling that Fusion Corp has been getting stronger. I am gonna fight him as best as I can, but sometimes I wonder....what if he takes them. What would he do to them?" Jade asked, her voice trembling

Ruby began crying in the next room rather loud.

Vincent kissed the top of Jade’s head as she snuggled into his chest. “We’ll do the best we can to protect them from him. It’s all we can do, and until something happens we should stop worrying about it, I’ll only make us miserable.”

When he heard Ruby crying he meant back to the living room and stuck his head around the door. “What’s the matter Ruby?” he asked, looking around to see what was making her cry.

Ruby looked up at her father, holding up her finger. It had a small Bruise on it, Ruby whimpered softly, looking up at her father.

"Owwie!"

Vincent immediately went over and scooped Ruby up in his arms. “Aww, poor little Ruby, how did that happen?” he asked kissing her finger gently.

Ruby sniffled burrying her head in her fathers shirt. "Toy car." She responded with a whimper.

Jade had began setting up table, tail wagging back and forth slowly.

“You’ll need to be a bit more careful then wont you?” said Vincent with a warm smile as he kissed her daughter’s cheek and hugged her tightly. He walked towards the table the Jade had just finished lying.

“Mmm, smells fantastic, and I don’t even have your enhanced sense of smell,” Vincent said with a smile at Jade as he sat down with Ruby on his lap. A toaster skittered past, dodging away from people and dashing into the living room. Vincent scowled at it, but didn’t try to catch it. he get them all eventually, then he fix them and they’d work as intended, bringing the toast to you instead of running away from you.

Ruby patted her father's face with her hand, giggling happily. She made a few soft cooing noises at the food comming towards the table. There was apple slices that her mother had made espically for her.

"APPLE!" She exclaimed, reaching towards them.

Emerald had eagerilly passed he father some of the meat, having already taken a piece. She picked it up with her hand's and begaan tearing at it before her mother shot her a bark. Emmy sighed, picked up a fork as her mother cut it into smaller pieces.

Sapphire had just gotten done painting and had washed her hands in the sink. She gingerly began to eat the pieces that where set upon her plate, acting like a real lady.

Vincent smiled as his family all sat down to dinner. With Ruby still on his lap he set the plat of apple slices in front of her and picked up his knife and fork. Cutting himself a piece he popped it into his mouth.

“Mmm, Honey this is excellent.” He eagerly cut himself another piece as Ruby picked up an apple slice and gobbled it up greedily. “See girls,” he said to Emerald and Sapphire, “Aren’t you glad you gave your mother the steaks back? If you hadn’t we wouldn’t have this splendid meal now would we?”

As he finished speaking the phone rang. “I’ll get it,” he said, sitting Ruby in her high chair. Placing the apple slices in front of her he went and picked up the phone. “Hello, Vincent Lupin speaking. How can I help?”

“Vincent, it’s your mother,” came the sickly sweet voice, “now before you hang up let me say my bit. After that you can slam the phone down and never speak to me again if you wish.”

“Alright mother, I’m listening,” said Vincent somewhat grumpily.

“I wanted to apologise for my behaviour when you and Jade came to visit.”

“That was years ago!” Vincent exclaimed, struggling to keep his voice down so as not to disturb his family.

“I know,” she said, her voice losing some of its sweetness, “and I should have called sooner, but you know me. I’m a proud woman, and it takes me a long time to swallow my pride and admit I was wrong.”

Vincent considered just hanging up at that point, but she was his mother, and she was admitting she was wrong. “I suppose at least you’ve apologised now,” he consented.

“Thank you for accepting my apology son, it means the world to me,” the sickly sweetness in her voice had returned, “I’d very much like to see you both again.”

“Well if we come over it won’t be just the two of us,” said Vincent, “You’re a grandmother now. We have three beautiful little girls, Sapphire, Emerald and Ruby.”

“Oh how wonderful!” she said enthusiastically, “I can’t wait to meet the little darlings. How soon can you come over?”

“I’ll need to talk to jade first,” he explained, “you actually caught me in the middle of dinner, so we’ll talk it over and then I’ll call you back ok?”

“Of course, you get back to your dinner,” she shooed, “call me once you’re finished. Bye love.”

“Bye mom,” he hung up the phone and returned to the table with a big grin on his face.

Jade looked at Vincent like he was nuts.

"What youre new Robot parts are comming in earlier than you expected?" Jade asked curiously.

“No,” he said, the grin still firmly in place, “that was my mother. She was calling to apologise for her behaviour when we visited and has invited us and the girls to come over and visit.”

He was so pleased that she had finally swallowed her pride and accepted Jade. He hoped that they could now try and repair the relationship between them, as despite what she had done she was still his mother.

Jade rolled her eyes letting out a soft growl. She looked over at Vincent as calmly as possible.

"Why would I want to see her ever again?" She growled

Sapphire's eyes widened. "Mommy and daddy are gonna fight..." Sapphire said slowly.
