The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Kaz listened to her talk and then he shrugged. "You're right, I'm not denying it. I know how I look. I don't need anyone telling me about it." His voice had confidence it hadn't had before, as well as, a slight smile on his face. "I don't get flirted with much, 'cept by one person, and I enjoy that." Taking a sip of his whiskey. "You must either be good at what you do, or find some weak willed, desperate men." Kaz did laugh this time.
He became quiet again, looking into his drink. "Darkness, dispare, anger, rage, blood lust. A creature from the darkness in mind, twisting your mind and body. Becoming a sliver of that creature, strength unimaginable. A single mindedness few can withstand. Death, destruction, carnage are what it thrives on." His tone was flat and...cold. He looked her in the eyes, his gaze hard and serious. "That is what I become. That is what makes me different than them."
"Awww and the truth finally comes out. That's why you aren't biting huh doll? You got a little philly? Well, I can't exactly say I'm surprised, a little disappointed maybe..." she trailed off, sipping her shot again, this time finishing it.
Jazz listened to his explanation, an eyebrow raised as he went into vague detail of what his true power was. She chuckled lightly as he ended, pouring the shot again and handing it to Kaz. "You are quite the verbose boy now aren't you?"

"....You got a little philly? Well, I can't exactly say I'm surprised...." Kaz looked at her and smirked and nodded slightly. Softly he spoke, "But I am." A smile on his face. "Surprised you don't have someone. Sounds like you don't have much trouble with guys."
<Verbose?> Kaz may have his diploma, but it did take him six years to get out of high school. English, at least obscure, words tended to make the gears in his head grind to a halt briefly. Using what kids were taught in....fourth grade or some time around there, he let the rest of her sentence tell him what the word meant, or at least try. "Might that I be." He took the offered shot and downed it before handing it back. "You'd understand if you saw. No words can truly describe him." Kaz swallowed realizing he didn't say 'it', but 'him'. <Now you'll just seem crazy....Maybe that's not so bad....> Kaz laughed inwardly. "What about you? is speed your only trick besides blowing out light bulbs to scare bartenders?"
"I don't have problems with guys. I just haven't met one worthy of all my time" Jazz smiled, winking at Kaz as she grabbed another shot glass and poured her own drink. "But trust me darling, I'm hardly alone."
"Him huh? You don't think you're the same person when you're in that form? Interesting..."
"Sides the speed, I am pretty controlling when it comes to all things electricity...the light bulb thing is just a parlor trick..." she smiled.

"Were you thinking of adding me to your long list of men?" Kaz eyed her with, suspicion? No, not quite right. Curiosity? Yes. "So that was a parlor trick? Looked like you just overloaded the light bulb to me. What about a real demonstration?"
Jazz raised an eyebrow. "Look Kaz, how bout you keep any comments you might have had about my sexual practices to yourself okay?" She threw back her shot, finishing it off and grabbing the bottle again.
"Well...a small demonstration might be in order..." Jazz moved over to the wall, touching it. As she started to rechannel the electricty, the entire lights flickered and finally gave out. All electronic devices were out and down. Jazz held it for a moment, then allowed it to channel back to their respective destinations. She started back towards Kaz.
"And if that wassn't impressive enough, think of the fact that I held all that electricity in my body."
An well dressed man stepped into the establishment. He was looking for someone in particular and soon spotted her. As well as her he saw the man speaking with her. It took him a moment to recognise Kaz.
Rethinking his plan he left the establishment and pulled out his phone. A minute later Kaz’s watch vibrated.

Kaz smirked. <Seems I got under her skin a bit. Good.> "I think I can agree to that." Kaz watched as the lights flickered, the sound from the speakers waxed and waned until they died along with the lights. Kaz raised an eyebrow at Jazz. <That was kinda cool.> "Not bad." Kaz's new snazzy watch began to vibrate. Looking at it for a moment trying to figure out what it was doing. <Oh yeah.> "I'll be right back." Standing up he walked into the back room. "OUT!" Smashing his hand on the wall, scaring the few people in the room straight out the room. Pressing a button on the watch to signal all clear he waited for whatever it was to happen.
“Kaz,” said Hunter through the watch, “The woman you are talking to is someone I am looking to recruit to the Kabal. She caught my attention when she drained a city block of power then expelled it in a very violent manner.”
“I had sent a man to recruit her, but as you seem to have already struck up a conversation with her I would like you to recruit her. Make the same offer to her as I did to you, either a salary of between $500,000 and $1,000,000 and a penthouse apartment or whatever else she may desire.”
“Offer the money first and the anything else second. The job will be the same one I offered you. Do you require any further information on her or have you gained sufficient from your conversation? If you have sufficient, then I shall leave you to it. If she agrees, bring her to the lab and I will meet her personally.”

Kaz made sure he wouldn't be heard before speaking. "No, I think I've got enough info." Pausing for a moment, "Actually give me a quick rundown of her past." Kaz waited as Hunter did just that. Nodding to himself as he committed it to memory. "I'm sure you'll be interested to know that the electric power of hers isn't the only one. She's quite speedy, but I wouldn't begin to guess how fast, I couldn't keep up." He was about to end it there before he thought of something. "If she asks for something....more...., I'm sure you'll be listening, vibrate the watch twice for yes and three times for no. I don't want to overstep my bounds here. I'm heading out, no more communication." With that Kaz pressed the button again, turning the all clear signal off.
Stepping out of the room he glared at those around the room, causing more than one of them to shrink back from his crimson gaze. He walked back over to Jazz. "Jasmine Miller. Born New York City, New York. Seems someone has taking quite an interest in you. I would be hard to notice miles of New York going through fairly regular blackouts." Smiling, "I wouldn't have thought you could do that, Good job." Kaz reached over the bar top to grab a bottle. Opening it he sniffed it and pulled away from it slightly to look at the proof. 160proof. "That's the stuff." <Time for the burn.> Kaz had a few chugs of the drink, he couldn't pronounce the name of the stuff. But did it burn.
"My employer finds your particular abilities to be quite useful. He'd like to hire your services." He looked her in the eyes and smiles. "No, not THAT kind of service." Kaz grabbed a drink napkin, setting it in front of him. "We don't, play by the rules. Before you ask, I haven't met any of the others who aren't Mutants." Kaz lied, he hadn't met anyone else besides Hunter, but she didn't need to know that. "Of course we use humans to do grunt work. Not you, if you accept." Kaz looked around for a pen but couldn't find one. <Oh well.> Taking out the small blade again he cut the tip of his finger and began to write on the napkin.
$500,000 to $1,000,000 Penthouse apartment.
Pointing to the numbers, "That is the offered salary," Pointing to the apartment, "Bonus." Taking another swig of the drink. "What do you say?"
Jazz smiled as he started ticking off the accounts of her life, feeling flattered. "Well well well, someone has been watching me haven't they? Very flattering indeed. And I'm glad my abilities could catch you off guard in such a pleasant way" she smiled. "Oh, and thanks for quip about services." Jazz rolled her eyes as she added the comment.
Jazz raised an eyebrow as Kaz pricked his finger and started writing.with his blood. That was a little...unneeded.
Jazz smiled and looked over at the napkin. She pointed to the apartment. "I already have that." she smiled smugly at her drinking partner and then pointed to the salaries. "But I like that second number you wrote down there..." she smiled. "S'that a yearly salary?" she asked.

"Glad you're flattered. Don't get use to it, not from me at least." He watched her roll her eyes and he laughed. "Well, I didn't want or need you to get the wrong idea." Kaz sat back resting his elbows on the counter as he faced away from it. Shrugging slightly as he raised his arms a bit. "Weekly." He waited a moment before continuing, he wanted to see how she'd react. "Monthly, quarterly, yearly. I'm not sure. He didn't say. Probably have to take that up with him." He looked at the napkin, "It never hurts to have two apartments. Business for one, pleasure for another." He smirked at her. "A get away place. Whatever you'd want to use it for."
"Yeah, I have a feeling that you don't give out the compliments very much." Jazz rolled her eyes. "Too bad, you're so cute when you're giving them out...even if they're someone else's" she pinched Kaz's cheek. If he wasn't going to take their truce seriously she could joke too.
"That last number and the apartment and your boss has got himself a deal." she smiled, looking over to Kaz. "Who is your boss anyway?"

Kaz chuckled a bit at her comment about compliments. "Who said they weren't from me." Yeah, he was deffinantly starting to make questions into statements. He ignored the pinch to his cheek, though he really wanted to slap her hand for that. It seemed quite childish.
"...your boss has got himself a deal." <Wow....If it was this easy to recruit her....> He let that thought linger, but didn't say anything about it. "You wouldn't recognize his name if I told you. Though, with your rich background, you'll probably recognize a couple places he owns: The Black Talon and Noir." Taking a swig of his drink. "We can head to meet him now if you'd like. I know he'll be quite happy to know you've accepted his offer."
"So now I'm worthy of your compliments? Well well well, I'm honored, truly" Jazz smiled, laying it on think for the man.
"He owns the Talon? And Noir?" Jazz was surprised. She had been to both places a number of times but had no idea they were owned by the same person, let a lone the man she would now be working for. "Yeah, I'd love to go meet him..." Jazz trailed off, swigging her drink again.
"So um, what exactly will I be doing anyway?" Jazz asked, the idea just occurring to her that she might need to know what's going on in her new job.
