The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"Heh, I rarely make deals with businessmen, and less do I talk to or listen to them. So what does it matter? Unless you're afraid of something." Hunter's attack did indeed get him of of his windmill defense, but not how the man had planned.
It was risky, but hopefully it would catch Hunter off guard enough to land a good blow. Kaz launched himself feet first at hunter, using his momentum and continuing to twist. Kaz narrowly avoiding getting seriously wounded by the blades in Hunter's hands as he snapped his feet at the blades, knocking them away enough to make room for himself.
Kaz latched his leg around Hunter's neck, locking them in place with his ankles, as he bent his arms backwards to strike at Hunter's crotch.
Hunter was amazed at the risk Kaz was taking. While they had paid off so far, if he kept it up he’d get hit. Seeing the pair of blades aimed for his crotch Hunter knew he had to move or risk losing something very dear to him.
Jumping up and throwing his legs apart, doing a box splits he managed to shift the attack so it caught the inside of his thighs. Kaz’s sword left a long gash while the dagger caused a shallow stab.
While jumping Hunter whirled the swords around behind him to slash at Kaz’s ankles, aiming to force him to release the grip on his neck. It had been a good fight so far, but Hunter could see that he would eventually win. While it may take him a long time, but Kaz’s natural talent did not yet make up for his centuries of experience. However, in twenty years or so it would be a different matter entirely.

Kaz reveled in his unpredictability and risky maneuvers. He liked to think how it would affect his opponent. 'If he is willing to risk that kind of harm to himself, what is he willing and capable of doing to me?' Was the general mindset they would take. It was the same tactic, though a very different way of doing it, that the berserker's of the Norsemen used against their foes, slashing themselves with their own blades, howling and ripping shirts off to demoralize, surprise and scare.
Hunter avoiding Kaz's attack in a slightly humorous way, at least to Kaz. Every man had an instinctual reaction when his groin is threatened. Up until now, Kaz couldn't truly predict what Hunter would do, so he took great pleasure in knowing he not only forced Hunter to react as he did, but also that he knew and predicted he would.
Kaz was pulled when Hunter jumped, while the man slashed at his ankles. Kaz received three slashes for his crazy stunt. Because his legs were locked one on top of the other, Hunter's blade slashed the left side of his right ankle and his left ankle while Hunter's other blade slashed the right side of his right ankle. Kaz let the lock go as he fell to the floor, rolling backwards he stood up with a large smile on his face. He looked down at his feet and saw the cuts and the slow blood flowing from them. "Hmm...well. What do you say, Draw?" Kaz chuckled. He knew now both of them had held back. More than just holding and controlling attacks to land superficial blows instead of deadly ones. He put his dagger away and headed to the wall. He didn't wait for Hunter's answer. "Where to? You're driving."
Hunter smiled at Kaz. “Draw,” he agreed. He didn’t want to spend the time it would have taken to beat Kaz while the pair where fighting at human limits. Where they fighting to their full potential then it may well have been a different story.
“Here,” he said, tossing Kaz back his sword. Pulling out a handkerchief he whipped the small amount of blood off his blade before sheathing it. “There’s a club a few block away that I own. Inside is a soundproof room where we can talk in private.”
“I have a limo waiting outside. Do you wish to freshen up or shall we leave now?” Neither had broken so much as a sweat form their little sparring match, and all their wounds were light. His would be gone in fifteen minutes anyway, the only trace of them being the dried blood.

Kaz caught his sword easily. Now with one sword in each hand he swung them both down towards the ground quite fast, flicking them hard right at the end of the ark, removing the blood from the blades. Kaz replaced the blades in their case before giving himself another look over. He reached into a small pouch on the case and pulled out some wrap, which he used on his ankles to stop the blood flow. Not because it bothered him or he was worried, but because it's not nice to get blood in a limo, it just ruins the atmosphere. He didn't bother with his shoulder or his side, those had already stopped bleeding, mostly because cloth was stuck in them.
"A club sounds nice. Hope you got good drink." Kaz walked towards Hunter with his case in hand. Looking over at Will, "Call me later, tell me how much I owe ya." To the rest of the class. "Have fun." Kaz looked to Hunter. "Lead the way."
Hunter nodded to Kaz before turning to the owner of the establishment. “Thank you Mr Johansen, it was a pleasure to be in your fine establishment and have such a good match against your best student.”
With that he turned and headed out the door. Maximillian saw him coming and opened the door, “We’re heading for the Black Talon,” he said simply and got into the limo. Maximillian shut the door behind Kaz and set off for the club.
