The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Hunter allowed a small smile as his hit connected, all be it barely. He saw the faints for what they were, though he had never seen any more convincing in all his time. Still, with the boy’s skill he couldn’t afford to just stand there, he put up token defences to dissuade Kaz from turning his faints into true attacks.
When the final high strike came Hunter spotted the subtle change in stance, something that only someone with his experience could spot. Kaz himself probably couldn’t even tell he was doing it. His Longsword shot up and intercepted Kaz’s blade.
With his enhanced vision he spotted the slightest twitch in Kaz’s muscle that showed how the attack would change into a blow with the hilt as opposed to the blade. With his sword already committed to the block he snapped up his free hand, stopping the blow a hairs breadth from his face.
Kaz had flipped in time with his attack to offer it greater momentum. Hunter waited until Kaz had just pass directly above him before shoving out against the sword hilt, attempting to alter Kaz’s path just enough to make his landing a little unstable and create an opening.
As Kaz sailed overhead on the altered path Hunter gripped the sword double handed and whirled around with a diagonal slash aiming to try and force Kaz to his knees if he blocked. At the same time he also kicked out with a foot travelling the opposite direction to the slash, trying to wedge Kaz in the middle and force him to block one or the other. If Kaz brought a blade down to block the kick Hunter would pull back rather than press home the attack.
“Well Alicia is an exceptional stock broker,” Hunter agreed, “that’s why I hired her.”

It was instinct that saved Kaz from Hunter's pincer counter attack. Instead of stopping his momentum and trying to block, he dodged by doing a back spring, landing on his hands, he continued with a backwards handspring. Landing he did another full back flip turned twist in which Kaz let fly the shorter blade in his left hand. Kaz landed in a half crouch. His gymnast background was shining through at the moment. "Remember," He spoke to everyone in the room, though not necessarily to Hunter, "The blade is not the only weapon of a swordsman." His eyes were fixed on Hunter's, a smirk on his face. He was sure he knew what Hunter meant, but he was going to make sure. "Oh? She's workin with your stock picks as well huh, must be doing quite well for yourself." Though he now had one blade that was slender and thin, it was also quick, and very good at deflecting and redirecting attacks.
Hunter watched as Kaz flipped away from the attack and threw his shorter blade. The boy was a natural gymnast, and it was something that he used in his fighting. Releasing the hilt of his sword with one hand he lent to the right, letting the blade glide past.
As the hilt came past his left hand shot up and snatched the weapon out of the air. Quickly getting the feel of the new blade he advanced on Kaz saying, “Actually I’m the one who made sure that you hired her.”
Swinging the Longsword around and up he did a vertical slash aimed at Kaz’s left shoulder. The attack was intended to drive him right, into the path of the shorter blade that he was swinging to stab into Kaz’s side.

Kaz wasn't surprised by Hunter's answer, but he was curious. "Now why would you do something like that? What would you possibly have to gain from it?" Kaz smirked and snickered slightly. "Your blade speaks. Your actions are for the most part selfish." There was no snide remark, no sarcasm, nothing negative in his voice, just what he felt was true. "If you didn't gain something by doing something, you wouldn't do it. Unless, maybe it was for fun." With that Kaz quirked a large smirking smile as Hunter stalked up to him.
As the two blades started their attack, Kaz could see each path as if it had already happened. <Another pincer attack....> The thought was left hanging as he reacted. Kaz did what Hunter wanted him to, he moved right, but only enough to dodge the longsword. Kaz put his blade in the path of the second sword as he quickly snapped back to the left, inside the reach of the longsword. Metal on Metal, a sound that every true swordsman appreciates, Hunter's second blade was deflected, but nicked Kaz a bit in the back, a small cut on the surface of Kaz's skin. With his movement back to the left, Kaz threw his head forward to clash heads with Hunter. Hunter was taller than Kaz by a few inches, not a big deal, but it could be to Kaz's advantage. If he landed the blow, it would be more likely to hit Hunter's nose than his forehead.
Hunter was impressed by the dodge, Kaz needed complete control over his body to do it. As Kaz came in for the head butt Hunter snapped his head forward so they clashed foreheads. While he didn’t have enough force to cancel out Kaz’s attack, he did weaken it.
The blow caused him to move back. As he did he tried to lock the hilt of the short sword into Kaz’s blade so as to prevent him from using it while he slashed for Kaz’s side with the Longsword.
As he moved he said, “Your right, I’m not what you’d consider a charitable man. I helped you so I could see if I was right, if with a little help you could achieve great things. Now I’m here to offer you a job, one in which you could achieve extraordinary things.”

Kaz's free hand was already inside his jump suit when Hunter moved back. Kaz could 'feel' the tension the class was feeling due to Hunter and himself. Making himself heard throughout the room, "Sometimes you just gotta use your head." He let a laugh come through his words, which got quite a few of the class to laugh, breaking the tension. His free hand snapped out and intercepted the longsword, a dagger now being held in it.
Kaz didn't quite like Hunter's explanation. He didn't like being used or toyed with. Kaz spun his rapier, sending the one in Hunter's hand out wide to keep it out of the action. "What is it you thought I'd achieve? Though a job pitch like that....Makes me curious if nothing else." Shrugging a bit, Kaz was a bit irritated, but not enough to effect him in any way. "Next thing you'll tell me is you own Atlas Munitions."
Hunter gave a small chuckle as he pulled back, giving some distance between them and allowing him to reassess Kaz now that he had pulled out an extra weapon. “You know, it’s funny you should mention that,” he said smiling, “for you see, I own the other half of Atlas Munitions.”
Circling Kaz he continued, “And I must say that the designs for some of your personal weapons were most interesting, I even had a couple made for myself.” Spotting his chance Hunter lunged at Kaz’s stomach with the Longsword.
When Kaz inevitable deflected the attack he would stop the thrust and offer no resistance, causing the deflecting blade to go out further than Kaz would intend it. in that split second where Kaz was overextended he would slash with the short sword aiming of Kaz’s shoulder.

Kaz huffed a bit at Hunter's words. He was done being surprised by the man. Deflecting the longsword, Kaz dipped his shoulder, and let the short sword graze his shoulder, a superficial wound. Kaz went loco. Loosing all rigidity, Kaz went into an extremely fast routine. His movements became like liquid, flowing and ever changing.
Offense and defense became one and at the same dime non existent. Because he was no longer rigid, he was able to react instantly to any attack. Moving forward with a multi-kick combo, low, high, mid, high, low. At the same time he battered the longsword. Dipping and bobbing, Kaz moved to Hunter's side, and then back again to his front, to his other side and back in front. Kaz slashed out towards Hunter in unorthodox ways, his arms bending in ways they shouldn't be able to, both deflecting attacks and slashing, trying to score hits on Hunter.
Kaz’s shift to a fluid stance was something Hunter had never seen a person do. The closest thing to it he had seen was a warlock, mutant, who could manipulate water. He had made a man out of water to attack Hunter. The things flexibility was astounding, and Hunter had nearly lost to it.
Kaz was showing the same flexibility now. Hunter immediately switched to the defensive, but it was a challenge. He was deflecting and blocking attacks by the narrowest of margins. Kaz seemed intent on knocking the Longsword out of his hand. He had had that weapon for centuries, he wasn’t going to let go of it now.
Tightening his grip and loosening his wrist he managed to use a combination of strength and movement to keep his grip on his favoured sword. While doing so he assessed Kaz’s new stance.
The freedom of movement in any direction allowed for unprecedented ability to avoid attacks, meaning that not only would Hunter have to get him of balance, but distracted as well. He saw how.
As Kaz was flowing about in his unorthodox stance his long hair was whipping about the place. Even in this fluid stance everything was connected to the head, move that and you can move the rest of the body. As Kaz’s hair whipped past he bit down on it, securing it in his teeth.
Clamping his jaw shut he jerked his head back in an effort to pull Kaz off balance. As he did he slashed his swords in from both sides and drove up a knee to try and catch Kaz in the stomach and wind him.

Hunter's clothes sported many new cuts and slashes, but no blood flowed from any of them. He wouldn't give up that longsword, he held on to it as if his life depended on it. Kaz realized that quick, and shifted his target to the man himself. He never landed a clean blow, but Kaz got satisfaction that the man went completely defensive, the look on his face, that look of surprise, slight though it may be, made Kaz feel a lot better.
Something was off, Kaz didn't know what, but he could tell. There was tension on his hair, <That sly...> He felt Hunter jerk his hair. No stranger to pain, Kaz held his ground and didn't move towards Hunter. In defiance, Kaz spun in place quickly, the hair twisting and becoming tighter. When the blades came together, Kaz dropped slightly, giving the blades a perfect angle. The tension was gone as both blades sliced cleanly through Kaz's hair. The hair in Hunter's mouth snapped back at him from the sudden release.
Kaz rushed Hunter, smacking both his blades out wide. Kaz snapped his forward and to the side, sending his hair to lash at Hunter's face. As he did, he snapped his foot straight up, trying to catch Hunter under his chin.
Hunter quickly spat out the lose hair now that Kaz had managed to severe it. As he whipped his now whip like hair at Hunter he leant his head to one side so it caught him across the shoulder. The movement of his head also mean that the kick sailed past, just missing.
With Kaz on one leg it was a good time to act. Hunter simultaneously kicked out at the supporting leg while attacking with both swords up high to keep Kaz’s arms up and unable to provide support. “So,” he said now that hair wasn’t in his mouth, “are you interested in the job offer?”

As soon as his kick missed it's mark Kaz knew what was going to happen. Less than a second later his leg was kicked out from under him. Hunter attacked high keeping Kaz's arms up, but he did nothing about Kaz's leg that was near his head. Bending his leg sideways, he locked his leg around Hunter's neck pulling him down to the ground as Kaz fell. On the way down, Kaz corrected his grip on Hunter's neck, making it possible to get his full strength into play.
He heard Hunter's question and thought a moment before answering. "Depends on what the job is, and what I'll get out of it."
Hunter dove after Kaz as he pulled him down rather than fight against it. He was aiming to head butt him in the stomach, driving the wind out of him and allowing Hunter to untangle himself and pull back.
While keeping his swords locked with Kaz’s blades he said, “The details are somewhat sensitive, a lot of stuff I’d rather not let competitor’s know. I’ll be more than happy to discuss it in private.”

Kaz took the head butt to the gut, it was unavoidable, but so too was he counter. Using the combined momentum of Hunter and himself, Kaz rolled backwards, his free leg raised up with his other leg. Kaz began to spin like a top, toes in the air, hands on the ground. His legs snapped down, parallel to the floor. Normally this would be quite...suicidal, but Kaz, a master of the body and martial arts, made this simple move dangerous, with ever twist, his legs snapped with a force that could easily knock someone senseless, his feet were fluid, able to turn a blade away by hitting the side with little problem.
It was of course, a defensive move, but one that could quickly and easily change to an offensive posture attacking in a split second. Kaz switched to what break dancers call a 'windmill', it seems many dances come from the martial arts or vice-versa. "What competitors? The only competitors I see are you and I. Though I'm not apposed to a private conversation." What might have been the most impressive part of this current display, was the fact that Kaz never once let go of his blades. Neither of them seemed to give him any discomfort or get in his way, but the opposite, they added to his current 'dance'.
Hunter rolled away as Kaz shifted to his new stance. It was a relatively new style, one that he was not as familiar with as some of the older techniques, but he still knew enough to see that it was very flexible, especially when used by someone of Kaz’s ability.
“It’s quite possible that some of my business rivals are spying on me as we speak,” Hunter said simply while simultaneously attacking. He whirled both his swords in a similar manner to the way Kaz was his legs, picking up enough speed that it seemed as if he was holding two large circular saws.
With his blades spinning like that they were much more difficult to deflect. Hunter crouched low and swung the spinning Longsword high and the short sword low, attempting to force Kaz out of his windmill stance to defend.
