The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Dominic jogged down the stairs of the mansion's garage where he said he would meet up with Raphael and Fade. He pushed the alarm button on his Altima to unlock the doors. It was death quiet, as he noticed he was alone, leaning against his car and waiting for the other X-Men. Dominic thought of a plan that could help them in their mission.
Fade went down to the garage after changing into some jeans and a sleek black V-neck. Her hair was down and she had a plain black, yet thick bracelet on. She wore converse and a studded belt as well. Hey, if she was going into this Sanctuary, she was not going to go dressed like she had just woken up and taken an hour long jog. Once she saw Wire, she walked over to the car that they were apparently taking when it dawned on her that she should probably learn how to drive sometime. There could be a point in time where she'd have to jump in a car and drive away as fast as possible, but for now, she was glad that Wire knew how to drive.
"So we're just gonna walk in there and start asking around?" Sounded like a sure way to be attacked to Fade, but if Wire thought that admitting that they lived at the mansion was a wise choice, then Fade would admit it. Good thing her power was invisibility, because if this Sanctuary turned out to be unfriendly, the last thing she'd want to do is stand there and fight off all of the members with two others, best thing to do there would be to escape and inform Tricity of what kind of group they were.
"Well, I was thinking that Raph and I do the 'just walk in part' while you do your invisibility thing. You could walk around and check the place out while we pretend to be prospective residents. We'll have radio contact the whole time to make sure everything goes smoothly. What do ya think? You have as much say as me. I want everyone to feel comfortable with missions," he explained, opening the car door for her. Dominic jogged to the other side and hopped in the driver's seat, turning the engine on, and checking his rearview mirror for Raphael with no luck.
((sorry for my rather lengthy absence... my classes are wrapping up here which translates into plenty of large projects worth a significant portion of my grade...))
Raphael came into the garage, duffel bag slung over his shoulder. He looked much like how he did when he first arrived at the mansion, a whee bit lost and completely the part of a wanderer. The former was faked, the latter was not. He rolled his shoulders and climbed into the backseat of Wire's car. "Sorry for making you wait. What's the grand plan you two have come up with?"
He reached over the front seat and patted Fade's shoulder, sort of a 'things will go just fine' gesture. He was certain that their mission would be a stunning success, though he quickly dropped the thought and focused on just leaving the mansion. Making up lies that were more than half truths for leaving, never could be sure when a mutant would be a telepath and be able to pick out a complete lie. "Well, let's get on the road."
"Well, I was telling Fade that you and I could pretend like we're interested in staying at that place while Fade can use her mutation to roam around the place a bit... See if she can find anything. What do you think?" They had entered through the City and thankfully, they had missed rush hour traffic now that it was later in the evening. "Only thing I'm worried about is the separating us up part. If Fade should get into trouble, with all those other suspect mutants around, I don't know if the three of us will be able to handle ourselves."
Raphael nodded, letting his gaze drift to the window to watch the city roll by; a concrete jungle, an apt name for any city, especially New York. He could agree with most of what Wire said. Especially since it kept Fade out of trouble.
“It sounds good to me, though I do think we should work on a back story for why we’re suddenly turning up on their doorstep, and personally, I don’t think we should leave the mansion or the x-men out of it.” Raphael looked back from the window to Wire, and then to Fade. “The best of lies contain a hint of truth, and if they happen to have a telepath there, a lie based in truth, or even mostly truth, would be much easier to hide. As for being separated, well… I’m fairly certain you and I could handle ourselves, even alone.” He looked from Fade to Wire and took a deep breath.
“Jenny’s a tough girl,” he smiled over at his girlfriend, and spoke to her directly, through the smile. “But, I think if something should go down, she should be the first to cut and run. Get out of there as fast as possible and get back to the mansion.”
((Sorry guys, school and work and my social life have been kicking my butt as well. But I am back on and I will try to be good again.))
Jenny smiled when Deltoid put his hand on her shoulder to give her a reassuring pat. She listened to the plan and nodded. "Don't worry about me. I'm pretty agile. And for anyone that can't see me, then I've got quite an advantage. But about the whole thing with me splitting first does not sound like fun. I know you guys are probably tougher than me but I really don't want to just up and leave you guys while I run for help, especially since I might get caught. Mind if we just bring a cell phone or walkie or something. Leaving you guys alone would not be an easy thing for me to do."
Dominic nodded toward the backseat. "Check in the boxes there. We have small ear pieces so we can keep in contact if it's necessary." They were just pulling up to the building he'd seen on television where this Dorian King was preaching to the press. He turned to Raphael in a serious tone. "Look, Fade's an X-Man.. well, X-Woman, now. Tricity thinks she's capable of handling herself so therefore, I agree. If anything goes down, we'll all fight our way through, ok? If we haven't checked in with Johnathon and Tricity at a certain time, backup will be coming shortly."
He turned to Fade. "So, my dear, how about you do your ghost thing now before we get out the car so we can head inside?" He pushed open the door to the car and cleared his throat, perparing to head inside. "When we get inside, Fade, you head out and search the place. See what it's really about. At some point I'll get away enough where I can talk to you through the com device and give you the heads up on our whereabouts so we can get out. So, how bout that story Raph? What do you think we should say?" Dominic's eyes quickly scanned the area for security cameras, but he had to make sure he wasn't being so obvious about it.
Raphael bit his tongue, he really wanted nothing more than the best for Fade… and in his mind the best for her would be complete safety well away from any sort of violence that might ensue. If she could do that by being invisible and escaping to bring help… so be it. However, Raphael knew when to hold his tongue and not say anything. He just nodded in compliance as they pulled into the drive. He reached beneath the seat and plucked the box out, and then an ear piece from the box. He thrust this into his pocket and plucked another two out for Wire and Fade, holding them out for the other x-men to take.
Raphael gabbed his duffel bag from the backseat and climbed out of the car, moving up beside Wire and studied his shoes for a moment as he spoke quietly, namely to hide his mouth from any sort of camera mounted above them. “The mansion’s not safe. People get hurt there, and even the ‘x-men’ can’t protect us there from sickos looking to exterminate us, or psychotic doctors looking for more ‘interesting’ subjects to test on. Given that this place is a bit more open… it has to be more safe, right? I mean, why broadcast that a building is a haven for mutants if you cannot completely protect them?”
Even as Raphael spoke, it was obvious that he did not feel the entire phrase was a lie. He was still bitter over what had happened to Victoria, and was willing to use it as an excuse to leave the mansion and end up here.
Fade nodded. She was an X-...woman... she could handle herself. Never-the-less, she did appreciate Raph's concern for her. "Don't worry about me. I'll be fine." She reassured her boyfriend while grabbing his hand. With that, she disappeared. An earpiece lifted in the air as Fade put it in her ear and turned it invisible as well. She remained seated until the car reached the Sanctuary. In which case, she climbed out of her open window and walked up to the doorway after whispering "See you soon and good luck" in Raph's ear, followed by a gentle kiss on the cheek. At the doorway, she waited until the door swung open for just enough time for her to sneak inside. Once she was indoors, she scuttled onto the roof and waited to make sure the other two were right behind her.
((OOC: Greetings X-Men. I've started a thread for you guys and girl in the Foyer section of Sanctuary. Mostly it's just descriptive but I thought it would be at least a starting point for everything.))
