The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"Sudo-instructor. Not really, not officially." Kaz looked at her. "Sure, I guess. If you're actually interested. I'd only be able to teach you the basics. Beyond that, it's just practice and puting what you've learned to work."
"Well, it's a big mansion right? I'm sure there's some place you could hide out that's not cooping yourself in your room. I'm sure there's a way to get on the roof."

Nicki smiled. "Well don't worry about that...I'm a very good student. I pick stuff up very quickly and I work very hard" Nicki smiled. She didn't want to mention that it would be easy for her...that always took the fun out of stuff that required practice.
"Yeah...you're right, I just have to put the time in and try to find the right place. Maybe the roof...maybe a private area on the lawn..." Nicki smiled. "Okay, we're talking about me way too much. Back to you..."

"That's good to hear. It would be hard work. Cuz it's not just picking up a shinai and practicing, it's also working your body, weights, running, reaction speed, improvision." A smart ass tone a voice came with his next comment, "What's wrong with talking about you? I rather like it." He gave her a big smirking grin. "I'm pretty sure we can find you a spot. Hell, if I'm around I could give you a lift up to the roof." He laughed.

Nicki smiled. "Sounds like a good plan. Gotta have body discipline to have anything else right?" Nicki smiled. "So how long have you been working with swords?" Nicki asked, guiding the conversation to Kaz again. "And how do you mean give me a life up to the roof? Can you fly too?" Nicki chuckled, poking him in the ribs a little.

"True. Can't throw a rock unless you trained to do it." Kaz could tell Nicki avoided his question. Though he couldn't understand why she felt uncomfterble talking about herself. "I've always had an interest in them. When I was a kid I saw shows or read books where the main person used a sword, and they were always the most badass person. I started self training when I was..oh, 12 or 14 I think. And no I can't fly, but I can jump pretty high."

Nicki smiled as Kaz explained everything. She preferred to listen, always had. And Kaz was very interesting. "Yeah, people who carried swords were pretty badass, and that's not just in movies too. I'll have to show you some of the books about ancient samuris and knights. Very cool stuff there...hell, there's even some books on the sword techniques they used, though some of them are covered in one of those books you had earlier..." Nicki commented, recalling the book she had absorbed.
"So you jump really high huh? You could get me to the roof? That's pretty insane..." Nicki smiled, looking over at the boy.

"So you really do remember what was in that book huh? It's not just a short term thing then." Thinking for a moment, "I'm no good with techniques." Laughing at himself. "That's one thing they could never teach me. I go with the flow esentually. I think there's a word for that kind of non-style fighiting." Looking up at the sky he made a silly face, "I'd be damned if I could remember a word when I needed or wanted to." Looking forward again, "Same thing happened with the martial arts I learned, after so long, it became hard to seperate one from another, to the point where, I would think I was doing somthing from tai-chi, but instead I would be doing a mix of kun-fu and karate." He shrugged and 'oh well.' "Probably in two or three hops. I've never had a passenger before."

Nicki searched for the word Kaz was looking for, but fell short as well. It was a specific terminology that she didn't have a command of. She shrugged. "I understand what you mean though. Style with a lack of style. It's like how empty space is in a picture for a purpose; it's the lack of color that is making the statement." Nicki thought about the situation, the devoid of style as a style. "It suits you"
"So I'd be your first?" Nicki smiled. "Well, even if I don't take you up on the offer I appreciate it in the first place"

Kaz ran what Nicki said through his head a few times before he got it. Then it made sense. "It suits you." He looked the girl, "Thanks." Looking around, he noticed they were close to the mansion. "We'll, I could get a rope, have you hold on to it, and hoist you up, saying," He made a jesture like he was holding a fishing pole, casting the line in the water, and reeling it in, "Look what I caught." He gave the girl a wink and a playful smile.

Nicki smiled brightly as Kaz played with her. She poked his stomach again, biting her lip as she felt her cheeks flush again, for the first time in a while. She then scooted in a little closer to Kaz, enjoying the feeling of being close to him.
"I'm really glad I ran into you at the library" Nicki muttered, a little embarassed, as she looked down to the ground.

Kaz let the girl get closer to him as he put his arm around her shoulders. "I'm really glad I ran into you at the library." <Oh crap.> Kaz had no idea what to say. A statement like that, he felt like he should say something. But everything he could think to say sounded corny and forced to him. He hoped she wouldn't take offence if he didn't say anything. Instead of words, he gave her shoulder a light squeeze pulling her a bit closer to him.

Nicki smiled happily as Kaz pulled her closer. He seemed kind of uncomfortable, not with the physical side of anything or being with her, just that there was something off. Nicki tried to pick up exactly what it was, but she couldn't really place it. It was clear though
"You okay?" Nicki asked, looking over to him. "Got a vibe, you know?"

"Yeah, I'm fine. No worries." He laughed a bit before sighing, "Honestly, I didn't, don't, know how to respond what you said." Reaching up with his free hand he scratched his head a bit. "When it comes to being on the spot, I'm not so good with words. Much better with actions. I felt like I should say something, but I didn't know what to say. I don't want to offend you at all." Looking at her as he spoke.

Nicki smiled a little as Kaz fessed up to what was going on. She nodded, completely understanding what he was talking about.
"Yeah, I can understand that. I'm not offended and I wouldn't have been regardless of what you said. I said what I said cause I wanted you to know it. I am really glad I ran into you and I wouldn't have had nearly as much fun today if I hadn't run into you. And it's okay if you don't feel the same and it's okay if you do feel the same and can't find the words. It doesn't change that I'm really having a good time with you" Nicki smiled brightly, poking Kaz in the stomach again.

Kaz sighed, "That's good to know. I feel better now. I have had fun today. I think this is, the second or third time you've made my head go stupid. Or is it the fourth?" Kaz started laughing when Nicki smiled at him. When she went to poke him again, his abbs reflexivly flexed, not hindering his movement at all. "You really like poking me huh? How do you like getting poked?" Kaz moved his hands and started poking Nicki lightly in her sides and back and in her stomach.
