The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

I haven't read the entire thread here because it’s gotten very big very quickly. But I have a concern, from what I've heard. It seems that the X-men test is totally and completely focused on fighting against mass foes. While this is ok I suppose, is this how all X-men tests will be? I really hope not, I hope they will be diverse to include those without total combative powers, or those without any combative powers, skill, or training. Because not all X-men or mutants have combative abilities, but become X-men for the skills they do have, because of their mutation or otherwise.
While throwing them into a 'survival' battle is nice, where's the info gathering before hand? If this exercise is to test their teamwork and leadership abilities, I think in the future, it would be good to have each participant introduce themselves, and what they can do. Also, a mass training of basic hand to hand combat, test of mutant power control, basic tactics needs to be done.
When the time comes to choose new X-men or trainees, I hope it's kept in mind what someone needs to become an X-men. It's not combat abilities, but the reason and drive behind wanting to become an X-men, and the willingness to uphold the principles and ideals the X-men represent. Not just because it's the 'cool' thing to do.
Off the topic of recruiting: When there's a thread like this, with this many people posting, to be fair to everyone, I think we need to have some sort of posting order or rule. In this thread it s easy for those who are not on as regularly as others to get lost and quickly unable to post. For example Nicki only has 3 posts in 7 pages. Not everyone has hours and hours of free time. People have school, and work, and lives outside of MRO. To be fair, I don't think this should be a suggestion or proposition, but a rule: Be considerate, and we need to have a posting order, so everyone gets to have a chance, instead of being drowned in tons of posts which leave them little options to do anything when they can post.
This of course is just my opinion, and again I haven't read the entire thread. I apologize if I put this in the wrong spot. And thank you for your time.

No I haven't actually. Something similar was hinted at though. Since I had posted that origionally as an OOC, I reposted it here with permission so people would know I had concerns and thoughts about it.

Librarian, I was already spoken to by Computer Nerd, she said I can post this here. And just because I'm not an Xmen, DOES NOT mean I can't have concerns and say them. Saying that is like saying I'm not allowed to try and help at all, to try and improve things. This was not complaining, it was purely concern and suggestion. There IS a difference.
As it says right on the main page.
Suggestions If you have any suggestions about how the board is being run, please do so here.
