The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Hey guys and gals,
Since I've been working on a new character to bring to the site, I've also been re-evaluating Jaxon and her direction in rp. I don't mean any major changes to the character, but I'm sort of lost as to where to go with her, despite the fact that I love to play her. But I am one of those people that is willing to let the chips fall where they may in terms of character development through RP and that has gotten my original plan a little lost.
I don't plan out every little thing she does, what she is going to do, or who she is going to meet, though I try to have a general idea of her direction. I try to just let things happen because that feels more realistic and fun to me. However that has led Jaxon to a confusing area, and I am floundering a bit with what to do with her since she is at a turning point, which works well as she is floundering too after the Romanian events. All I can think of is a shocking event that she sees the Sanctuary/Order/her friends do, and she turns away from that.
Originally I had planned for Jax to be good and head towards the xmen. Something about the dichotomy of a power that seems inherently evil and a character that was basically good really draws me. I still like that idea, but I was wondering if anyone else had any thoughts about what they think would be interesting or fun for Jaxon's direction. I tend to get stuck on an idea once I've come up with it and it can be hard for me to think of other things that are outside the box. I thought I would put it out to you guys, after all two heads are better than one, and there are more than two heads around here. ;D
No matter what, it will probably be a slow progression for her because I want to work on some character development, her motivations and feelings and thoughts, so whatever happens won't be immediate. She won't suddenly turn around and start being a pacifist or start killing babies.
So what do you think? Should I try to turn Jax so that she is heading down the path of good, should she continue in her slow descent into evil, or is there something else that I haven't thought of?
I believe I have been on this path. What worked for me was to have Garrett face his demons. Perhaps you can do the same, just in more of a literal sense. I am a fan of Carlos Castaneda and his brujo magic man, Don Juan Matus. Don Juan would recommend that you stop your world, meaning you introduce such a life and mind altering event into your timestream that you have no choice but to awaken and see the world with new eyes. Specifics? My instinct is to recommend that something goes wrong with a summoning and you go where your demons come from. If that doesn't give Jaxon a stark line dividing the worlds of good and evil, I suppose we can try again.
Personally, I'd get her in more threads and play things out a bit longer. Jaxon is still essentially a new character to MRO, given your absence; it's rather normal not to know where new characters are going. RP with more people, get into more situations both good and bad, and try and get a feel for her. I've never been a fan of forcing characters to go either good or bad; I like to see where they take me, as I start getting into RP arcs with other players.
Also, there isn't anything wrong with being independent of any factions. After all, it's the only way you can get the Mutant God(dess) title. If you do hoose a faction and it doesn't seem right for your character, all those emotions and dilemmas that come from switching can always be interesting to RP.
