The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Got a plot in mind?
MRO plots are player-created the Mods facilitate and organize the big ones, but we get the ideas from you. Do you have a plot in mind, and want to know whether it needs Mod approval? Check out our plot guidelines.
I'm not sure it will be possible to find colors that work well with each and every one of MRO's skins. The colors above were all chosen with the default skin in mind, I believe (GreyAbstract). This is what new members will see as they browse the site. By all means, we can keep looking... but yeah. Might not be possible.
It's possible that folks who move to the non-default skin may just have to be mindful of how the colors show up on their skin.
Has anyone found a readability issue with one of the skins? Aka, how the old Kabal blue looked on the default black background--nearly impossible to read?

Unfortunately, Hist is right. When I made this site a trillion years ago, the colors were that of the old X-Men; red, blue, and yellow. When I created the skins after that, those colors weren't really a problem because there were only two factions at the time and we didn't have them grouped in separate colors. I was the only Mod for a while... So the need to have different colors regarding memebrs, visited links, etc. wasn't an issue. We only had our titles changed to let others know what faction we were in.
After another makeover down the road, the default became the 'moveposter' skin and thus, all the colors we have now work with its theme. I suppose I could go down the list of skins and change the colors of everything...
we're in the process of making new skins and we'll be testing the colors so that sort of thing won't (or rather, shouldn't) happen. But yes, the faction colors work best with the grey or the default swirls. visitors and new members who have yet to figure out how to change their skins should be fine!
as Historian said: "I'm not sure it will be possible to find colors that work well with each and every one of MRO's skins." My answer to that is that hopefully we can switch out a few of these skins. If you can't change the colors, change the skins. I think we can clean some old ones out and get some more neutral skins that work with the new colors.

Keeping on with the headache of color choosing...
How do we feel about star colors?
The Xs, for example, are in total 'blue'. Blue name, blue, star, blue 'titles' for some.
G-Mods have a green name and a red star...
Do we want to keep the stars matching to the group color? For now, I'm going to 'match' all the colors to see what people think.
Here's the old list:
X-Men- Blue name; Blue star Admin- Pink name; Purple star Kabal- Gray name; Orange star Order- Red name; Black star G-Mod- Green name; Red star Mod- Yellow name; Magenta star
Stars: Blue star- Green star- Red star- Yellow star- Teal star- Silver star- Purple star- Pink star- Orange star- Magenta star- Lime green star- Gray star- Black star- Aqua star-
Because we are experimenting with some new skins that don't have black backgrounds, I would avoid the first three on that list, Lady J. They have automatic black backgrounds, while all the others have clear backgrounds that will look good on any skin color.
