The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

The two of them charged after the girl enthusiastically, though Drew's longer stride aided him in not only catching up with Gina, but staying a few strides ahead of her. They pursued cannon-arm-girl enthusiastically, closing in upon the Mansion and, hopefully, the stash. Gina slowed her approach as the cannon-arm-girl slowed, the din of shrieking kids meeting her ears. Good God, it was an all-out battle.
"We must be drawing nearer," Gina observed. Where there were shrieks of laughter such as this, there had to be a wealth of ammunition available within this battle. Gina drew nearer to the edge of the building, surveying her surroundings carefully. Lo and behold, a large plastic tub was situated by a small staircase leading into the Mansion, and another was located at the far edge of the field. Children were digging into the tubs, and drawing out water balloons. Gina smirked, motioning to Andrew that their ammo was just around the corner. She then drew her finger to her lips, and began stealing around the corner, keeping low and scurrying towards the bucket as surreptitiously as possible.
"We have intruders!"
Oh, crap, Gina realized, glancing towards the sound. Suddenly, an unknown ammount of projectile water balloons were aimed at them, and Gina did her best to dodge them, darting towards the tub, scooping up an armful of balloons, and darting off.
"Every man, woman, and child for themselves!" she shrieked, trying hard not to drop the precious cargo that she now carried in her arms. A water balloon or two hit home, one striking her in the hip, and the other hitting her square in the back, but Gina didn't drop a single one of her balloons. She just kept running-- she needed a good vantage point, and then, she could formulate a counter attack.

Andrew began to rethink this idea of getting revenge when he heard the shrieks and shouts. There were a lot more people involved in this than he'd originally thought. People weren't a good thing right now. Not at all. He took a moment to shove the fear and confusion back into the back of his mind. This was about forgetting that. Not panicking because there were a lot of people involved. They finally came to the corner of the building and Gina basically volunteered herself for a recon mission. It was better that she handle that anyway. After all, he would be much more easily spotted.
Once Gina gave the signal he followed her. However since there was more of him to hide it was considerably harder to hide. As a result they were easily spotted. Gina attempted to dodge the incoming projectiles. Drew just walked right through them. He was already wet. A little more water wouldn't kill him. He wasn't the wicked witch of the west after all. Though now he was wondering if Gina was. Wait, she was the wrong color. Drew disregarded the idea as he began his own ammunition raid. With a smirk he tipped the plastic tub on it's side, letting a fair number of balloons spill out before tipping the tub back upright and picking the whole thing up. It would be difficult to run with but he'd manage. He was after all, fairly quick.
With his bounty in his arms, and a fair chorus of "No fair!" following him, Drew beat feet after Gina. Sure she'd declared every man, woman, and child for themselves but Drew figured it would be more fun to be a two man team against two armies. Once he came even with her he grinned and twitched the tub a little so she'd notice it.
"Ammunition raid successful captain. What are your orders?"

Andrew purused her, wielding not only an armful of water balloons, but the whole dang bucket.
>> "Ammunition raid successful, captain, what are your orders-- whatever your orders captain, might wanna decide fast. We've got incoming."
"Excellent work, soldier!" Gina complimented Andrew, casting him a wink as she kept with the "this meant war" theme. She took the opportunity to utilize Andrew's acquired bucket, depositing her armful of balloons into the bucket. Her arms weren't very large, so the additional weight wasn't too unwieldy.
Odds were against them, though-- opposing forces were closing in and attempting to reclaim what they believed to rightfully belong to them. She needed to formulate a plan, and fast--! Gina took a breather, then gave Andrew the game plan.
"We need adequate cover," Gina said decidedly, smirking, "Primarily, to shield ourselves from counterattacks, and secondarily, to protect our acquisitions. Then, we make our attack." She paused, smiling. That was about it.

Drew grinned and drawled his response to the compliment a little.
"Aw schucks captain I were just doin' my duty."
Gina dumped the balloons she'd stolen into the tub and Drew wasn't put out by the extra weight in the slightest. She'd only taken an armful and had rather small arms. Drew followed Gina as they ran. She was officially the captain for this little 'mission'. While she outlined her plan Drew listened. It was a good one for the situation. However they couldn't afford to get too pinned down in one place. He waited until she asked if he had questions before voicing this.
"No questions ma'am but might I suggest picking a few defensible spots and switching between them regularly? If we get pinned down we'll be done for. Guerrilla tactics would be a good addition to this situation."
At that he put the tub down, scooped up a few balloons and let them fly at their pursuers. They scattered like autumn leaves in the wind to avoid the volley, buying Gina and himself some time. Drew grabbed the bin again and began running again.

Gina smiled faintly as Drew's drawl came out, and listened as he proposed a slightly different method.

Anything you say, hon. Gina wasn't even all that sure "guerilla tactics" would be, but whatever they were, it sounded good enough for her. Gina bobbed her head, as if she totally comprehended, and watched as Andrew set the tub down and tossed a few balloons towards the pursuers, causing them to scatter, and the two of them were off once again.
>> "We've got a bit more time now captain."
Gina chuckled, "Excellent."
The two of them continued down the gradual slopes around the Mansion, towards a more defensible area of trees.

Gina seemed to understand what he meant. Drew could always clarify later. For now they needed to get to the trees. Every so often Drew turned and fired off a volley or two to keep their pursuers busy. Thankfully the chasers were ambushed by the other team right as he and Gina hit the trees.
"Well that should keep 'em busy."
Drew looked around. There were a couple of promising clumps of trees to hide in that he could see already. He pointed them out to Gina.
"We've got a couple of good ambush positions there captain. We could hide there until the enemy comes in sight, throw a few balloons, and then run."
Drew wandered around the trees, looking for good defensible positions and good places to ambush from. As he did this he called back to Gina.
"What do ya think captain? Set up an ambush here or continue on in hopes of something more defensible?"

Gina bobbed her head, trailing Drew hesitantly as he meandered into the trees. She couldn't contain her grin as she continued to pretend that she knew what was going on. Water balloon fights like these brought back memories of her younger years, and she was fond of those years.
>> "What do ya think captain? Set up an ambush here or continue on in hopes of something more defensible?"
"Ambush," Gina decided quickly. They could only run for so long, and already her short little legs were throbbing from the retreat. On top of that, ambushing sounded much more exciting than continuing their flight. In preparation, she grabbed a water balloon in each hand, tossing a smile at Drew.

Ambush it was. Drew grabbed the tub and was about to offer Gina a few more balloons when a shout alerted him to the group of enemies that had just entered the trees.
"Oh..."
Drew swore under his breath. They'd have to run again. Gina seemed a bit worn and they needed a way to return fire that didn't include stopping. An idea occurred to Drew. He turned to Gina.
"Up for a piggy back ride captain?"
She could throw balloons so they'd have offense and he'd do the running. It would work well enough. At least until they got away and found another place to hide or something.

Gina was prepared for battle, dual-wielding her water balloons proudly, poking her head out around the tree’s trunk to assess the location of the opposing forces. She was mildly alarmed that she couldn’t spy them anywhere, and even more alarmed when she heard shouts at the tree-line. It would appear that ambush was no longer an option. While Drew swore and attempted to concoct a different plan, Gina readied herself to take the impending throng of fellow students head-on. Drew had something else in mind, however.
>> “Up for a piggy back ride, captain?”
“What?!” Gina laughed shrilly, giving Drew a skeptical look. It wasn’t that she didn’t think he couldn’t lift her—after all, he was more than a foot taller than her, and she was petite. It was just that, she wasn’t quite sure if she’d heard Drew properly… had he seriously just proposed that he give her a piggy back ride? But now was not the time for hesitance. They needed to get out of there, and fast.
“O-kay then…” Gina agreed hesitantly, tossing the two balloons that she was wielding back into the bucket. Was it really that obvious that she'd been getting winded? Curse her short legs! She grinned, hoping that her excited smile would hide the faint flush on her face, “Let’s do this!”

Gina seemed awfully surprised by his proposition. Drew chuckled a little at that and her expression. It seemed she didn't quite believe what she'd heard. Her hesitant agreement made him laugh. When she was settled and had given a cry of 'Let's do this!, Drew grabbed up the tub of water balloons and made she they were within Gina's reach.
"This way, I run and you're free to pelt anyone that gets too close with balloons."
That said, Drew took off. By the further off sounds the rest of the battle was winding down. One team had probably destroyed the other once Drew had stolen the ammunition. They were probably down to the last few hold outs with these folks off chasing after them. Drew ran from the group as fast as he could while carrying both the tub and Gina.

Gina clung to Drew a tad awkwardly, trying hard not to curl her clawed fingers into his shirt for leverage. It was easier said than done, for she was also attempting not to strangle him or send his balance off-kilter with her squirming. He picked up the bucket of water balloons, and Gina maneuvered so as to look over his shoulder, so that she could at least kind of see.
>> "This way, I run and you're free to pelt anyone that gets too close with balloons."
"Are you sure?" Gina tried again, quirking a smile. As opposed to answering aloud, Drew began running towards the noise once again. Gina did her best not to shriek with laughter. She did chuckle, though. They must have been quite the sight, a gargoyle piggy-backing a ride from a guy.
The duo crested over a hill, the throng of targets coming into their line of vision.
"There," Gina hissed, more to herself than to Drew. There was a smirk in her tone, and she fished into the bucket carefully, using one arm to fish out balloons while the other one was utilized to carefully anchor herself to the Drew. She piled up four balloons, and inquired, "Now?"
She waited for the go-ahead, and then let off a volley of four balloons, throwing them hard and high, hoping that they'd strike someone, without hurting them, and that she wouldn't like a fool for being incapable of throwing water balloons.

Gina managed to get the hang of things quickly enough. Soon enough they were headed back into the fray and Gina lobbed four balloons into the air. Three of the four hit their targets, much to said targets' chagrin. Drew just smirked at them and kept going.
"Nice shooting captain! How you doing back there?"
He did want to make sure she was ok after all. Drew headed back toward the main field of battle only to discover it empty. Apparently the rest of the battle had concluded without them.
"Well captain it looks like they went and had the battle without us!"
Drew looked around, spying the other participants only to see that they were headed inside too.
"Looks like we won by being the last ones fighting captain."
He set down the bucket of water balloons.
"Still, seems like a shame to waste this much ammo."
He grinned to himself, dropped the bucket, and at the same time loosed his hold on Gina so that she would fall to the ground. If the others were going to call it quits then he and Gina would fight for supremacy!

How's that for throwing like a girl? Gina thought victoriously, watching as three of her four water balloons hit various fellow students in some form or fashion. Drew continued running, complimenting her shooting and asking how she was doing back there.
"Thanks, doing good," she reported, slipping momentarily as she reached for more balloons. She gave a soft sqeak of alarm, but regained her composure quickly. There were, however, water balloons lost along the way. They circled upon the main battlefield, only to find it emptied of students. What?! What happened to the opposing forces?!
Drew made the same observation. Gina squirmed again as Drew set down the bucket of water balloons, and commented about how it was a pity to have to waste the ammunition. He then loosened his grip on Gina, causing her to slip to the ground. It wasn't a long fall, but Gina let out a shriek of laughter, cackling at the implications.
"Oh, no!" she shouted, hoarding a good half-dozen balloons and tucking them into the lower-half of her shirt, "Oh, no, no, no!" She reiterated, scrambling to her feet with her precious cargo and beginning her escape. She wouldn't take to the air, lest Drew actually hit her and ruin her flight pattern, but there was no shame in darting off for a better vantage point. Gina turned, pulled forth a water balloon, and lobbed it in Drew's direction, still wearing a childish grin.

Gina scavenged some of the balloons but Drew still had a fair amount so he stayed right where he was. At least, until the balloon came flying. That made him dodge to one side as it impacted on the ground.
"Your aim is a little off captain!"
Drew smirked as he waited for Gina's next attack. She'd only taken about six balloons so after that she'd have to come back in for another load of ammo and then he could counter-attack.
"Running already captain? Really?"
He'd just stand here and taunt her until she used up her ammo. If he got a little wet in the process so be it.
"I guess I can understand wanting to run. I am intimidating."
Heh, intimidating. Yeah right. But if it riled up Gina then it served its purpose.

>> "Your aim is a little off captain! Running already captain? Really?"
Gina stuck her tongue out at Drew at the comment about her aim. Her aim had been just fine. In fact, if he hadn't moved at the last moment, he would have gotten a face-full of water balloon. Gina wasn't really irked, per se, but more amused. Was he taunting her?
>> "I guess I can understand wanting to run. I am intimidating."
"Intimidating, my butt!" Gina retorted ridiculously, lobbing another balloon Drew's direction. This time, rather than aiming for height, she went for speed instead, the second balloon travelling a straighter, more direct arch. As an after-thought, she lobbed a third, also in Drew's general direction.
At least he hadn't quipped about her throwing like a girl, yet. Drew's taunting had done some good, though-- now with a good twenty feet of flat ground between them, Gina had ceased running. It was a good cushion of ground between, them, a safe distance from which she would have pleny of time to react to any reactive play that Drew made.
