The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Lenna looked to the Ranger. Nodded. Finished her burger. It sounded like he planned to carry his weight, after all. That was good.
Lenna scooped up her dishes and carried them to the sink, adding them to the mess. As she set them in, Lenna announced "Thanks. After you're done, I guess I can help you get settled in to the guest room."
The dishes were set in the sink and the Ranger turned on the water. Lenna announced that when he's done she could help him get settled into the guest room. The guest room, he had thought that moving in with her, he would share her room. Though, given her reluctance for him to even stay here period it made sense. He didn't feel like pressing the issue. "Alright. Shouldn't take much, I don' have much of anythin' t' move in."
The Ranger took hold of the first scrubbing utensil he saw and set to work. Soapy water applied, apply some elbow grease, and rise. Repeat until all the dishes were cleaned. Then, cut off the water and dry his hands and he was done. "Dishes, done.
He didn't argue over rooming... hrm. Somehow, she'd expected a bigger conversation about that. Or at least... something. Then again... concussion. Maybe he was tired?
She left him to his dishes for a while, while she went to set up the guest room. The sheets were still clean. With nobody staying there, that tended to happen. Nothing much needed doing.
By the time Lenna got back, he was done.
"You must be tired..." Lenna said. She paused, then took a breath and said more than she'd said all at once, all night. "About earlier, and saving me... thanks. I don't think I actually thanked you for that..." She couldn't remember. The whole night had become a blur. "You were... amazing." Amazing. How corny. It was amazing she didn't roll her eyes at herself... even if he sort of was.
Lenna started speaking, saying he must be tired, which he was but not too tired more just wanting to sleep off this headache, but then stopped for a breath and launched into a thank you. A thank you for his pummeling of her ex, ended with her stating he was amazing. The Ranger smiled, it wasn't every day someone called him amazing and meant it. The word often overused, said instead of interesting. Though this use sounded to be a real use of the word.
"Yer welcome. I'm not about t' let someone think they can get away with stalkin', harassin', or in any way tormentin' you. Regardless who they are."
Lenna fell silent. She bowed her head, cheeks flushed.
God. So traditional. Clichéd. Sweet. He needed to quit while he was ahead.
"Let's get you settled in, then..." She changed the subject. Stepping forward, she snagged his hand. Lenna dragged him towards the non-guest room... before she changed her mind.
There was no immediate reply, only a bowed head. Yet, soon enough Lenna spoke again, changing the subject to settling him in. "Okay." She then took his hand and to lead him, not that he needed the leading to the guest-. She wasn't leading him to the guest room.
Realizing this, the Ranger smiled slightly, quickening his step so it no longer felt like she was dragging him along, and shifted his hand so he could hold her hand back.
