A seemingly average looking private parking lot complex is lying in the heart of New York City. Just like any other for the more high-class apartment buildings. The entrance had a security guard and a swipe was needed to even raise the pole. The only thing that would really raise someone’s interest is the amount of vans that that go back and forth regularly. In such a high-class you’d expect to see more classy vehicles coming in and out.
But in this city, if anything seems to be slightly suspicious, then its bound to be something big. In thing case it just happens to be a government conspiracy. Deep down under the complex is a hidden, top-secret military research laboratory.
This facility is but a small fraction of the legendary Weapon-X organisation. A notorious organization that performs unorthodox experiments on anything supernatural they can find. One of their favourite things to go for is the mutant race. But this base has caught something that in the last month has been making all the scientists very excited and been keeping them very busy.
Deep in the maze of white steel walls, locked behind a door as strong as fortress with the letters TK written on it in large red print is a very high tech containment cubicle surrounded by computers and monitor equipment keeping track of life signs, strange brainwave patterns many other things. But what’s inside this contraption that requires so much security and equipment to make sure it stays there?
It was about 10:40pm. All the machines monitors in the TK room were lighting up the room. They were all reading that whatever was inside the container wasn’t trying to start any trouble. Then two men in white lab coats and four in some sort of orange biohazard-suits walked into the room. The men that appeared to be scientists were talking to each other and began using the computers in the room while the men in biohazard suits had each taken a rod, about the length of a fishing rod, from a rack on the wall with a gripping mechanism on the end of it. One of the men put the rod he had into a slot (there was no way I could have said that without having some type of innuendo) on the side of the containment unit. A bar above the slot that was red then turned orange and began buzzing for a minute then turned green and clamping sound could be heard inside the slot. Then one of the other men did the same.
“Scientist 1: Can you believe how long it took to get this big?”
“Scientist 2: I know. It’s been about a month or so and it’s already got more mass than your average human.”
“Scientist 1: It’s a little scary really, even with all the drugs we’ve given it it’s still really dangerous.”
“Scientist 2: Yeah, but if those alterations we made to its DNA were successful then it’s no longer compatible with human DNA. And if it can’t merge with a human then its abilities aren’t really all that…. you know…working. The worst it can do in this state is like…I dunno, maybe lay on top you and suffocate you or something.”
“Scientist 1: Exactly we don’t exactly what this thing can do in this state. I’m just glad we put in that last resort in case it did ever get out.”
“Scientist 2: I don’t know why they put that thing in. It’s only to be used if it merges making it dangerous and it can only merge with life forms that are of equal size. And since it can’t merge with humans and chances of it finding an ape are slim to none I don’t think we have much to worry about.”
“Scientist 1: I hope you’re right”
By then all the biohazard men had attached their rods to the containment device and the all the lights had turned green. The scientists had just finished up with what they were doing on the computer and gave thumbs up to the biohazard team. The men then lifted the containment device from its platform and cautiously moved it onto a similar platform that was on a flat dolly. The men then all disconnected their rods and place them back on the rack. One of the biohazard men then started to wheel the dolly out of the room, followed by the other five men. They took the container a fair walk away from its room and got to a glass door with “Research Centre” written across it in red. One of the scientists went up to a pad on the door and pressed the speaker button
“Scientist 2: it’s Timmons, I’m here with your ten thirty”
“Voice on buzzer: You’re late”
The door then opened with a type of depressurising sound to it as though the door was airtight. The two scientists and biohazard member entered the room with the container while the other members of the biohazard team left. The room the men walked into was a large white room with similar equipment like in the TK room and even more advanced looking equipment as well. The room had what seemed to be a much larger version of the container they brought in. There were two men with some sort of taser stun rifle type weapons and a top ventilation shaft that had a laser grid inside consisted of four beams all crossing at the middle. And standing in the middle of the room waiting for the container to arrive was another man in a white lab coat. He was bald with glasses and had a white goatee. He looked like he was in his early-mid forties. The container was brought in and them the last biohazard member left leaving the three scientists, two guards and whatever was in the container alone.
“Timmons: well here’s your patient Dr.Orig”
“Dr.Orig: and how is he doing today?”
“Scientist 1: the computers said that it was just like always, nothing really...”
“Dr.Orig: I don’t care what those machines say. I need to know how HE’S doing. What he’s feeling.”
“Scientist 1: Sir, do you even think that it’s matured enough to even be capable of even the most primal thought yet?”
“Dr.Orig: oh my boy”
Dr.Orig started to walk towards the container
“Dr.Orig: This is a living creature, there’s only so much a computer can tell you about him, about anything really. A computer can’t really see him, or smell him or feel his presence. Tell me”
Dr.Orig said as he raised a side panel of the container, which revealed a glass spy hole into it.
“Dr.Orig: have you ever even really looked at it? I mean gotten a real close look?”
The scientist nodded
“Dr.Orig: come here and take a quick look at it. You never know if you’ll learn a thing or two.”
The scientist walked up to the spy hole and gave Dr.Orig a rather nervous smile and giggle. He then put his face against the container and looked into the spy hole. It seemed to be filled with a reddish brownish type of fog, or what seemed to be fog. It could have been water or anything really. The scientist kept looking into it but he could only see the musky whatever it was
“Scientist 1: It’s…just, a type of musky fog really”
“Dr.Orig: Keep looking, really concentrate. You catch sight of what I did the other day”
The scientist looked back into the spy hole and really looked around.
“Scientist 1: no…no, there’s nothing real…huh?”
The strange fog started to swirl slightly and make some sort of egg form of red; the egg then came closer to the spy hole and opened up revealing rows of white sharp teethe and fly straight at the spy hole. The scientist immediately jumped back and kicked the control panel on the container smashing its screen. Lights all around the container and its base started flashing red and some pipes burst of the container giving off steam. The three scientists immediately rushed onto it trying to do what they could while one the guards got into a position where he aimed his weapon at the container and the other turned of the general alarm. Throughout the whole building an alarm could be heard going off. The three scientists were still frantically trying to fix the container one way or another while it was quickly spraying out steam from a busted pipe and all sorts was happening. The other guard quickly got into a position were he also had a clear shot of the container. The alarm was going off, the container was going frantic, the scientists were shouting at each other and the guards were easing their fingers on the trigger no knowing what to expect. Then suddenly the steam stopped spraying and all the lights stopped flashing, then just went off and there was a moment of silence between the men in the room though the alarm could still be heard. But nothing, the container was still. The three scientists withdrew from it and each sighed with relief.
“Dr.Orig: maybe…. it wasn’t the best idea that you…”
SUDDENLY! 6 red tendrils burst open the top of the container. Two grabbed the guards by the neck, one them immediately dropped their weapon while the other a taser line into one the lights on the ceiling making all the lights but one burst, the last remaining light started flickering making it the only source of light. The tendrils than started smashing the guards up and down on the floor and ceiling then threw them across the room knocking them out. The scientist that kicked open the container saw one of the tendril aimed straight at him, it then flew straight through his chest killing him. Dr.Orig had been blown back by the sudden burst of the container. His glasses had been knocked of and due to the lights he couldn’t really see were they went, but he could see a blurd dark, with brief flashes of light, figure of what could have been a person standing over Timmons while he was laying, in fear, on the floor. Then blurd lines slowly rose from behind the supposed person. Timmons then screamed. Dr.Orig starting feeling around frantically on the floor for his glasses, then he heard what appeared to be the supposed person screaming, except it didn’t sound like a person at all. Dr.Orig then found his glasses he quickly put them on, the left lenses had cracked, But as he looked up there was n one there, then suddenly the cover of the ventilation shaft slammed down on the ground. The Dr immediately looked up and saw strange goo forming around the laser pattern allowing it to get passed, and then it was gone. The doors then burst open with guards and biohazard members. They all quickly turned on their flashlights attached to their weapons and started searching the room. The Dr was on the floor looking at the ground in shock at what just happened.
“Biohazard member: Holy shit!! What in gods name happened to him?”
The Dr looked over at what the man was shocked at. It was Timmons. It looked as though all his skin had been ripped of his body, though there was no blood, He had been completely drained. Then one of the guards noticed Dr.Orig just sitting there.
“Guard: DR!! What the hell happened in here?”
The Dr slowly looked up at the guard and answered
“Dr.Orig:…send out a search party, project Toxin Kaos is loose.”
