Yes, Amber was more than a little nervous about the prospect of going to seek out her scientist captors in New Jersey with her sister in order to both take her revenge upon them for the wrongs they had done her and to protect other mutants from facing a similar fate. She was nervous but in a way she was also looking forward to the endeavor because it was the first real opportunity to prove the fact that she was serious about no longer being the perpetual victim. Those people had done something unforgivable to her, had captured her for weeks and forced her to fight wild animals in the name of "science" and done other experiments on her. Now she and Aura would show them exactly why it was unacceptable to treat mutants like they were less than human. She wasn't less than human, she was a mutant and it was about time she truly embrace everything that meant.
Amber wasn't a warrior or a fighter by nature. She had, in recent months, become quite the proficient hunter, but despite some similarities there was still a large difference between battle and the hunt. The hunt was something she did for the challenge and for the sustenance and it was always wild animals. She had never hunted humans before and she could count on one hand the amount of times she had actually fought any of them and on those occasions it was rather pitiful outcome. This time would be different, however, because this time she had her sister with her and between the two of them they would truly show the humans who had captured her that there were real consequences to their actions.
As Amber got her bags packed she tried not to think about the finer details of just what might happen to the scientists who had so cruelly treated her. She was beginning to become aware of just what sorts of things her sister was capable of and had some idea that the men and women they were about to go after may not come out of the encounter alive, but she forcibly suppressed that particular thought. It wasn't something that she was willing to think about in any great detail and it wasn't truly something she was willing to accept yet. Knowing what she knew, or at least suspected, perhaps she should have called the entire thing off and decided not to go after all, but she didn't. Maybe any death was wrong, but surely it was less wrong than their actions going entirely without consequence, wasn't it? It wasn't something she wanted to think about, so she didn't.
Instead Amber grabbed her bags and went down into the garage to await her sister. One of Abyss' hires was going to drive them the one state over they needed and the rest would be up to them. She swallowed down her nervousness, knowing that at least she would have her sister with her and Aura would never let anything bad happen to her. This would be the first step in creating the new Amber, the one who wouldn't ever be made a victim of again.
