The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

He grabs onto her arm as she walks past him. "I seriously don't want another mutant that I have to worry about in this city." He says and then lets go of her arm.
::She merely smiles again.:: "Oh, do we now? But perhaps we choose to fight differently. While I do have experience with hand-to-hand, that's not the way I feel I get the best result. Just don't interfere again and you won't have to worry about it."
"Why on earth would I do a thing like that?" ::she bats her eyes.:: "You're not a cop. Go on now, and have your fun. Go play hero." ::She turns and starts to walk off.:: "Is there a name that goes with that ridiculous costume?"
::It's nearly dark out and Jocelyn Riddle is walking down the sidewalk. She's thinking about things she's done, about what she wants to do, and about where she's going in life. Nowhere is where it seems. Sure, she's gotten a job in a laboratory in the city, luckily her chemistry degree from Oxford University helped her obtain a part-time lab assistant position. She sighs, wondering where she's going to live. Finding a place in the city for a decent amount has been harder than she realized it would be.::

There is some noise in an alley, like someone running and then being tackled into some trash cans and then a yell of pain. The Archer is holding a man belly down on the ground, his arm twisted behind him.
::Jocelyn approaches the alley cautiously, listening. She recignizes the voice of one man in the alley, and walks slowly toward the commotion.:: Well, what have we here? ::She whispers to herself as she gets closer. Archer's back is to her, so he doesn't notice her come up. She waits a moment longer to see what this is about.::
::Jocelyn smiles mischeivously.:: Time to get a taste of your own medicine... ::She whispers to herself as she approaches from behind. She gets arm's length from the Archer and holds her hand out, letting a little acid seep from her skin and land on his back. Hopefully his armor isnt too thick. It starts to smoke. The acid was enough to eat through a tiny place in the armor and then make it to the Archer's clothes and eventually his skin, though by then there was barely any left. Just enough to leave a small burn::
::Jocelyn watches in satisfaction as the man the Archer was holding down scrambles up and runs off. Then she plants a kick to the Archer's lower back and he falls forward to the ground.::
