The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

The lab was filled with several benches, each bench holding a separate array of beakers and steaming trays.
Daria stood in the midst of all of it, analyzing the chemical that had been injected into her blood system. It was a powerful catalyst that rendered her senses useless by magnifying some and diminishing others. It caused great fatigue and sickness and made her dizzy and drowsy. Daria wondered what an overdose would do.
She let the computer come up with answers and ingrediants in the chemical which she would then use to make an antidote, something to fight it off while she and anyother X-man infiltrated the labs.
As she waited, impatiently, she looked at the T.V screen. There was a report about a mutant who was terrorizing the city. She frowned as she listened to details.

Emerald walked into the labratory, still in wolven form with Ruby's stuffed bunny clamped lightly in her jaws. She sat next to Daria's chair, dropping the bunny in the older womans lap before putting her paws on the chair head laying on Daria's lap.
Emmy wanted her little sister back, and wanted her back soon.

And Daria could relate. She missed Mike terribly and all she could think about was the ring she had found. She had to get him back, she couldn't let him down.
Daria scratched absent mindedly behind Emerald's ear. "I know how you feel kiddo." she sighed. She listened as the reporter told of two murders in the city. She shook her head.
"Looks like there is drama in the city too." she sighed again.

Emerald merely whined in response, tail weakly thumping on the floor. She had missed being with Daria as much as she used to be but being with Johnny had changed all of that. Sure, Emmy liked being kissed, cuddled and hugged by Johnny but she also missed her surogate big sister.
Emerald gently nudged her snout against Daria's hand, licking it affectionalty.

Daria smiled and petted the girl a bit more intensely. She had missed Emerald too and having realized they had all come so close to being taken away from her Daria was just glad Emmy was alright and around to help her.
When it came down to it they were family-thats what mattered. And Daria would deal with the johnny issue when it was more important, there was too much going on now.
"Maybe johnny should come stay at the mansion...you know..for safety issues.."

Emerald's eyes widened and she jumped, pratically ontop of the older woman, tail wagging back and forth happilly. "YEA!" Emmy cheered, bouncing around Daria.
"Earlier today, a local resident of New York city, reported a murder in a back street. The police say the body is currently unidentified as it has been dismembered and decapitated. The limbs were present but the head is missing, or at least the skull is. Crime scene investigators found what appears to be the head's flesh, they say it looks like the work of a mutant, and make no further comment on their suspicions. The ramains of a car were also found, and it seems the car recieved almost as much damage." A photo of four seats; the tires; the dashboard and almost every part of the car that wasn't metal, sitting in the middle of the street, was displayed on the screen for a few seconds, while the news reader said "Almost no metal from the car was found, who ever killed that person must have wanted it"
"Workers at a dock have also reported another body. It appears to be an old man in his late fifties, but he seems to have burned to death. Investigators say the it was a petrol fire, or something similar." "Detective McBallard reports." An interview with the detective begins to play. "Stray animals have chewed on the body and the workers found a piece of his thigh in a gutter." The headless, charred, and partially chewed body, with the thigh next to it is displayed for a few seconds. "The skull of this man is also missing. Post mortem analysis suggests that the skull pushed itself out of the head with apparently no external force applied, as thought the skull just exited out of its own will. This points to mutant influence. A mutant killed this man, and the police will catch him, and he will face justice." The interview ends. "That was Dectective McBallard, reporting from the crime scene. And in other news..."
Emerald paused and looked at the screen for a moment. "Why in the world would you take a skull after you kill someone?" Emerald asked, rolling her eyes. "Thats an easy way of getting noticed."
Daria looked at Emerald for a minute and shook her head.
"This is shameful." she said sadly. "And it couldn't be timed any worse."
She looked back at the computer screen and printed the info for the antidote. She read over it quickly and then got to wrok mixing ingredients for to make it. When it was mixed she put it into several small capsules-not much was needed per person.
"Need any help?" Emerald yawned slightly, hiding the exaustion in her voice. In truth th wolf girl hadnt slept a wink since Mike and Daria where taken, and now that Ruby was taken, it was even worse.
Emmy refused to admit it however and was bound damned and determined to stay awake untill everyone was safe. Despite the dark rings around her eyes and the slightly bloodshoted look, emmy was staying awake.

Daria was putting the viles of the anitdote in cases. She handed a vile to Emerald. "Nope but you can drink this. Give it some time to work into your system and in case anything happens you'll be resistant to the tranquilizers."
She drank one herself and winced as soon as it hit her tongue. It tasted as bitter and potent as ear drop and burned as it slid down her throat, thick like honey.
Emerald held the vial in her paws for a moment before turning into her human form and Downing it quickly. She made a disgusted look before putting the vial on the table, "Nasty..." Emerald's next statement was interupted by another yawn. "So we are *yawn* gonna give these to the assembled mutants?"
