The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

It had been four hours so far, and it was early morning in the labs while Daria tested the vile for anything that could possibly harm Emmy.
It seemed Sapphire had told the truth, that the surpressant was fine. However, it was still a chemical. On the school's data base was actually a list of ingredients in the steroids that had been in the collars.
Daria was still researching and trying again and again to find an organic surpressant that was right for Emmy's particular mutation, that wouldn't give her an allergic reaction and that wouldn't effect any other part of her x-gene.
Her ears and tail drooped heavily but her eyes and hands moved quickly, she'd been drinking coffee which she NEVER drank and knew she shouldn't because it just didn't go well with her mutation. You wouldn't give your house cat coffee, right? Still she hoped the human sideof her could manage it.
While she was waiting for things to boil and simmer, for the computer to make calculations, she would study a bit, reading a few pages in her text book, which held info she already knew anyways.

As another hour passed, Daria found the computer beeping but she was almost in a trance like state, staring at her book, with a stack of computer print outs in her hand.
She was thinking heavily about Sapphire and Emerald's family. Her tail dropped till it swished along the floor.
"As well as you can expect." Mike's eyes flashed gold as he walked in, stimulating the right parts of Daria's brain to boost the right chemicals through it, pushing the fatigue out of it. "I found him licking his wounds in some other apartment he's squatting in. He told me to fuck off, I told him 'you're welcome' for saving his life, he threw something at me... I still don't know what it was, didn't bother to look. So then I asked him how the fuck he can be a heartless little creep, toying with Emmy's feelings like he is... he said he didn't know what I was talking about. So I laid into him for a good hour or so about what this is all doing to Emmy.. and at the end he told me to get the fuck out of his apartment."
He shook his head, sitting down next to her. "I just hope he actually WAS listening and thinking about what I was saying, even if he did throw me out."

Daria's ears perked up as well as her tail and she gave mike a kiss on the cheek.
"I tried talking some sense into Sapphire too, didn't go as well as I planned. She's so 'emo' sometimes, you know? 'People are better off without me' type of thing. If you ask me, I say spread yourself around as much as you can....figuratively speaking." she laughed and typed something into the computer. After a while it shut down the program it was on. She started sorting the papers she held.
"No one wants Emmy to be injected. I can't say I love the idea but if push comes to shove we do have surpressant on hand, tested safe...as safe as it gets.
"And I've noticed a chemical in several foods that work like the surpressant work...not as fast and in much higher dosages but if we change Emmy's diet, we may be able to hold off the issue for a while."
Mike kept quiet... he didn't like the idea of the suppressants. It was something that he didn't even like existing. Because sooner or later, he feared, they'd be used as weapons against mutants.
"Let me try Sapphire next time... bitch owes me big time, maybe she'll tone it down a little. Probably not, but it's worth a shot."

Daria shrugged. "Talk to her all you want. When scratching time comes, I'll step in." she put someo f the papers in a folder and put it in an organizer on the desk, the rest she kept with her stuff. She looked at her watch.
"Crap. It's so late it's early. I'm going to fail my test." she said defintely.
Mike smirked, then reached out and touched her head. "The thing about fatigue, is... it's mostly all in the head," he chuckled. "That happy little trick I just pulled... I can extend it for a few hours. That'll give you enough time to study more if you want, take your test, and get back... but you'd better get to sleep as soon as you get home. A few hours won't put a strain on your system, but once it wears off you're going to be dead tired."

Daria grinned. "You're something else." she laughed, her tail flickering.
She had been 'reading' a very thick, very heavy text book and writing down all the components of a computer, as if she were going to build one.
"I was thinking. Remember when I first said I wanted to be a teacher, and you said you wanted to be one too and we were trying to figure out what we would teach, respectively? You said something about me being the assistant art teacher, which at the moment I wasn't so keen on doing because I didn't think I had the patience. And then I got really excited about teaching a technology class.
"So some time when I was awake, I began to think...if I could combine arts and technology...what would I get? Graphic art and design!!! I think that's what I want to teach." she said, turning the page. The whole speech had been spoken very fast but easily.
"I think you'd be great at it," Mike grinned, kissing her head. He waved his hand, and the books all closed, their places marked, and everything floated to their convenient places. "C'mon," he said, "Let's get upstairs. You can study if you want, or I can just keep you company until it's time for you to head to school if you think you're good."
