The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

((If you are involved in the mission, please assume that your character has arrived by now, even if you haven't posted anything yet.))
"The mission will have two phases. For phase one, the museum team will be standing by as Jonothan enters the museum and scouts the location of the stone. Since we have no indication anymore that Whitmore will be striking on the same day we are, Jonothan's original role has been modified slightly. If Whitmore appears, Jonothan will notify us as originally planned, then set off the fire alarms to lock down the facility. After which, we teleport in, take the stone, and fade out, hopefully leaving Whitmore to take the blame. If Whitmore does NOT appear, Jonothan leaves with the rest of the museum patrons at closing time, but we will maintain a watch for Whitmore's arrival at all entrances until the museum staff leaves. At this point, we will enter the deserted museum, take the stone, and teleport back to the mansion. At this point, all we need to do is determine how to dispose of the stone, and the mission is effectively over."
"Now, in the very real possibility that we hit resistance, we will have a team standing by at the mansion to take care of any attacks of opportunity that occur while our team is at the museum. Do we have any questions so far?"
"Not about the mission no. Although it does concern it, I must speak to you in private. If you could be able to ask Tricity you would know what it's about, I suppose."

"I have a question cassiel, Where are us with the stones being posted here in the mansion out ofs harms way or are we going to be in the thick of the mission? and another what weapons or equipment are we taking with us?" Kaine said he got up and walked across the danger room to a coffee machine in the corner

Daria cleared her throat at Kaines question. "I'll answer that." She held up her two way radio, the part that attached to her uniform, the headset was in her ear. "We'll each get one of these but during the mission we mostly rely on our powers. Weapons get messy and signals are traceble." she explained.
"So Tricity avoids using too much extra equiptment."
"And of course your uniforms." she said pointing to the rack of suits in the corner.
*Wire had quickly rushed to get to the Danger Room and realized he wasn't late at all. He plopped down in one of the leather chairs, toying with the strings from his fingers while he waited for the meeting to begin. He didn't really know the others well, but knew them by name for sure. They were never introduced until today. He listened intently to the mission and then raised his hand.* "We're sending Johnathon in?? Shouldn't he at least be accompanied by someone and not go alone?"
*Kilala listened to Mike as he finished with the briefing. It sounded easy enough, but something with this high security would never be simple. She shifted in her seat and continued listening to the whole operation until Wire had brought up the point of having Johnathon go in alone. She decided now we be a good time to participate.* "Um, I can go with him. I've had training in stealth missions and such..." *She didn't want to go into detail about her life, but all her training was about going in without being seen and leaving in the same fashion.*

(OOC: Might I suggest that the X-Men do not easily teleport to the museum and back again? Traveling that distance with so many people just seems too easy and really powerful. I think everyone should hop in the family winebago and drive to the museum. lol No, but seriously, I think there should be transportation, Kaine being the driver.)
"He'd probably attract less attention by himself," Mike reasoned, looking the group over. "And if trouble DID start, we'll only be across the street, and I'll be maintaining a telepathic link with Jonathan while he's in the building."
He stood up. "We all know the details, but time is of the essence. The faster we get to this, the more likely we are to be able to pull this off without interruption from outside sources. If anyone is unclear of what we're supposed to do, come see me after you get suited up. We're heading out as soon as possible."
((Aaaaand, the mission thread is up. They have about an hour off-screen, including suiting up and driving there, to go over details, and probably a long wait in the building they're hiding out in))
