The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"I know, baby. I'm more nervous for it, yes, but we'll get through it in the end. It's that simple... we have to, so we will."
"I'm not going to let that narcicistic bastard come between us, freaky green stone or not." His smile took on a slightly cocky edge, "Poor guy, he doesn't know what he's gotten himself into."
There was a mental and physical silence for a second before he spoke up. "So... when we're completely alone, why is it that we still say important things mentally? Have you ever thought about that?" he mused, more just to get a little smile than anything.

Daria snorted wiggling her ears so that the gold jingled musically. "I was actually wondering that the other day!" sha excalimed. "Its just so much easier to avoid confusion and get the point across that way." she shrugged. "And, personally, I think it's good practice. If we keep the habit we wont slip when it really matters."
They sat at a large table, the kind set up for a meeting with the X-men. She shifted in her seat, her side still hurt from the fight.

Daria laughed. "Rover, that was so much better than Fido. why didn't I think of that?" she winced again.
"I'm better, I suppose. The doc fixed most of it. The stone in my back must've cushioned my fall...hard to believe, I know. It must be attached to my spine or something..that could be bad."She got back on topic. "But it's just a bruise on my side. She hits almost as hard as my old Tae Kwon do teacher. And that is VERY hard."
Fade walked down the hallways in a curious manner. However, this redhead was very cautious, it was a big place! Everytime some sort of noise rang in her ears, no matter how soft or loud, she immediately turned invisible until she pulled herself together and went back to normal. This was not that bad of actions for her to use, especially since places like these were not familiar to her in the least bit, when she had her foster parents, they lived in an apartment, and this school was quite different. Who's that? She thought to herself as she heard voices, of course, by the time she began to think the conversation through, she was already invisible. Don't eavesdrop! She hissed to herself, not wanting to be rude. I can at least check it out, while invisible. Her mind was made up, she slowly turned the corner, still invisible.
"Well, she WAS pretty big, I guess," Mike said with a shrug.
He felt the thoughts, and he was sure that Daria could smell the intruder too, but he was the one who addressed the issue. "I'm sure you didn't know this, being your first day and all," he said, looking directly at where Fade was invisibly standing, "But this part of the mansion is off-limits."
Fade jumped and let out a small "eek!" As she saw him looking directly at her. Duh, Fade, you are at a mansion that has people with abilities. Sheesh, use your brain! She thought to herself, hitting her head with her palm before turning visible. "I am so sorry, I-I didn't know. I can just, um, leave. Yea, sorry for the trouble!" She said, her facial expression was suprised and alert, and this was no act. "I'll just stop poking around, my bad."
Mike nodded. "Probably a good idea. They probably won't make a big deal out of it this time, but they won't like it if you keep poking around down here. And for the record, they do have thermal cameras to pick up invisible people... they just don't check them unless they suspect something."
Fade gave a puzzled look at the word "Thermal". She didn't remember that one from 2nd grade. Well, whatever it means, it has to do something with being able to see invisible people, or he would not have warned you! Maybe you should have just tried to find a different foster family and finished school. She thought again to herself. This girl thought too much, suprisingly, she hasn't gone brain dead. It was not that this girl had two personalities, it was just her talking to herself, when she grew up without anyone to talk to, she found it easier just to talk to herself. "Right, gotcha. I swear I won't go nosing around anymore." She waved as she slowly backed out of the room, her cheeks a vibrant red.

Daria grinned. "Yeah, we're practically the welcoming committee." She then thought about how she had given a not so friendly greeting to one particular canine student. "Well, he is anyways." she added.
She waved goodbye one final time and slipped out of the room. Mumbles uttered from her lips and she said stuff to herself under her breath. She continued to hit herself on the forehead until it became red. She slowly walked away and headed for her room, if she could find it, that is.
