The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Aura had no idea how long she had been away from Sanctuary. She had been separated from Meld some time ago as well and had finally decided to try reporting back. Having lost one ally Aura had rediscovered an old ally. Aura was at the outskirts of town looking up at a good size bee nest. Hungry and board she let her Aura flare into being and formed a sword and with one stroke cut sown the low tree branch holding the hive, which struck the ground and broke open. She did not get to see the contents of her hunt. Hundreds of bee's swarmed her and Aura knew they were trying to sting her. With a smile aura clapped her hand's together crushing a dozen of the insects in one shot. While Aura could not be stung she also could not eat.
Aura then chose to fall back, and simply crush the bee's on her back, then rolled. With Most of the insects dead she went back to the nest to discover their was not much honey in it at all. Picking up the nest Aura extracted several of the larger cones. Looking around, aura slid the white hood of her silk robe back, revealing her long unkept brown ahir, which looked in serious need of a cut. Opening her backpack she found a bag and put the combs in, to let the remaining grubs die off. She never had found a liking to them.
Aura smiled as she watched her pet skunk, Solkat walk up to the fallen swarm and begin to nibble at their bodies. With her pet occupied she turned and began walking closer to the small town, looking at the address she had written down. She noticed people looked at her without recognizing who she was. Still they seemed annoyed by her presence and Aura wonderd if they liked outsiders much. Without a visable motion to them she kept walking, it never ocurred to Aura what the people were really looking at was the sheathed sword on her back.
Keeping to the outside of the actual town she found a small grassy hill and sat down. She had wonderd what geo ha been up to all this time away, he had been gone way before she left. Looking up at the sky, she pulled a book and some papers and rolled herself a joint. Looking around as she waited she smiled to herself an once again considerd the laptop she had gotten at her old teams base. She had not found any way to get more then basic information from it.
Geo watched the blank countryside speed past as he drove down secluded country road. There wasn't another car in sight, but that's what was nice about these small country towns, there was next to no one out here. There had been a time when Geo wanted to stay in places like these but after being away from the order for so long it made him realize how much he loved the fast paced, loud and crowded city life. Geo was a people person if anything and he couldn't hide that.
That's why Geo was glad that he was meeting up with Aura. It gave him an excuse to finally work his way back to the order rather than procrastinating in the middle of nowhere sight seeing and chasing girls, though the later never got old no matter where you are.
He had chosen this quiet little town because there was next to no people her and it was easy to go about unnoticed. Not to mention if worse came to worse he knew there was only a handful of police officers in he town that were a joke to begin with.
As he pulled into the outskirts of town Geo noticed a funny little character sitting up on a small grassy hill wearing a white robe with a sword slung across her back. It wasn't very hard at all to realize that his was the person he had come to find.
Geo took his foot of of the gas and let the car slow down as he steered h vehicle off of the main road and towards the bottom of the hill. Hopping out of the ca Geo lit a cigarette and walked up to the girl sitting with a book on her lap.
"Well well well Miss Aura. It has been a while huh?"
A cocky grin flashed across his face as he spoke, instantly reminded of the fun he had had causing destruction through out the city in the name of the Order with her.
"It has my friend, to long but i am glad to see you well" she said at him. Then looking around she continued. "it's a nice town, quite and people keep to them selfs, no one even screams when i walk outside in daylight." she said as she took a deep drag from the joint. "So what you been up to out here?" she asked casually as she cleaned up. truthfully she could see the appeal of towns like this which seemed almost cut off from larger cities, a cop had even waived to her.
"Feels weird to be in civilization again" she said and in truth this was the most populated place she had been in, in months. A week ago she had crossed the border and had mostly stuck to less populated area's. She wanted to get back to Sanctuary without leaving a swath of death and destruction if she could. True she would not have minded killing every human she could reach but the order's goals were more then pleasurable destruction.
She wondered what Lori would say as she and geo walked back through the doors. She had not intended to be gone at all and it had been awhile since she had even been in the country, much less was able to contact sanctuary. "Any plans after we get back?" she asked trying to make conversation. Aura watched as a farmer passed them on a tractor but barely more then waived to them. Aura barely managed to keep her Aura from flareing up, this was no place to start a fight.
Geo couldn't help but chuckle as Aura talked about the town.
"You call this civilization?" He asked in a joking tone. "Places like this aren't really worth anything more than a quick fill of the tank and a night of laying low." He said as he looked into the small town. People walking down the street smiling and talking to each other, small shops and not a chain store in sight.
" I really don't know how anyone could stand to live in a place like this. Completely cut off from the actual world. I bet there's not even a mutant in this god forsaken town." Though there was once a time when Geo lived in a town like this but something about city life just made these cut off towns feel like torture.
Geo had to think for a moment when Aura asked him if he had any plans when they got back to the city. "Well...I think first thing's first, I have to reopen the shop because my wallet is starting to get a little light, I mean i barely have enough gas to get to the Sanctuary." He said giving his wallet a slight tap as he spoke.
"After that I guess it's back to the Order, see what's going through the gears and work on pulling my weight you know?" It had been a while since Geo had done anything for the Order and it sort of felt like he was neglecting his own people. He was afraid, however, that with Syn gone and Abyss not around as much it felt like the family had taken a major blow from Geo's point of view.
"It is true that i had more then once considered hunting down some of the farmers for sport, but instead i simply ate the goat at night and left a prize with the bones that made the farmer soil himself" she said with a giggle. "At least it tasted better then that dog i ate a few days ago" she said with a shrug. "Still other then a hunting ground i would be board here and worse i would likely die of old age living here" she said not liking the idea of dieing natural death.
"if you need more money, these filthy humans could always lend us theirs, i lack any myself. Was in a dance in the forest, humans can be such poor shots" she said sounding dissopointed. "Or we could just rob a gas station or two" she said with a smile. "Either way if i can lend aide i will, im not much on the road but i can cut through things well" she said having her aura quickly flare up around her hand and a form a sword. A moment later the sword reformed into a chainsaw before it suddenly lost shape, and faded out of view.
"Lori has remade the order into more organized but less brutal order. Insurance fills the orders bank rolls and things have gotten more subtle. She frowns on large scale human killing for example, but she is slowly pushing humans away from sanctuary and replaceing them with our mutant brethren. But i will let lori fill you in on the details, my information is old and i have not been at sanctuary in some time" she said honestly folding her arms in front of her. Once again her thoughts wonderd to Meld and hoped the metal mutant was all right, she had grown use to fighting with her time and time again.
"my Memories have long given me, diffrent accounts of the same event, this laptap "she said patting her backpack. "Holds detailed information on everything miracle did and detailed profiles and historys on each of us who served Miracle in the woods. I need to know which memories are real as they have more then once clowded by sight. With that resolved, i can concentrate on getting stronger" she said as she watched a car pass by in the distence.
"Aura you are definatly the most twisted individual I know, but I must admit that I sorta admire you for it." He chuckled to himself thinking of how when he first met Aura he had thought it strange that she didn't know billiards but little had he known at the time that beneath that simple truth Aura was missing gears on whole other layers.
He was disappointed to hear about the Order's change in ideals. He had rather liked the freedom to kill humans as he saw fit but now he had to play his cards with a note of subtlety? HA! There wasn't an ounce of being in the rock man that knew the meaning of the word except when chasing women, sometimes that had to be played carefully.
"It's a crying shame that a good thing had to go bad...well, you know what i mean." Geo took a long drag of his cigarette and with a slight tap of his foot a rock surfaced just behind him and he sat, resting his arms on his legs. "It just feels like our little family will be different now. I mean it's so hard to imagine the Order without Syn. She was like the glue that kept our kind allied against the real enemy.”
Then Aura began speaking about her laptop and from there Geo lost her. He had no idea who Miracle was or at least he didn't remember. He had been away for quite a while after all. ”Excuse me if I'm wrong kiddo but I don't think I know exactly what your talking about.” Geo said in an apologetic sort of voice. ”Who's Miracle?”
"Agreed, i miss Syn and Abyss, abyss even adopted me" she said with pride ignoring the comment about being twisted, not quite understanding it. Isabel and others are still around but things are quite different now. I find it hard to watch killing humans, it's almost reflex" she siad simply as if talking of deer. Aura felt terrable incide suddenly as she realized how badly she was talking of her current leader. She knew she should not but the last few weeks had changed something in her.
"My powers emerged in a fight i had with a human girl, i went to punch her, instead my power formed a sword and cut the girl nearly in to, killing her. The Humans then threw me in a cage and my parents never botherd to look for me. Miracle lead a force of mutants who freed me and others and then began to train us to use our powers in combat. To be soilders for nature, Miracle tought us that Mutants were created to replace humans as the sentinent species of the planet, reducing human's status to that of mere animals. For two winters she lead us, untill i failed my orders and everyone died in the result." she said looking down, the shame of the event evident on her face. "She could heal and was near ageless though she drank quite a bit.
"My squad was retreating from automatic weapon fire and my secound was struck in the leg, standing orders were to kill anyone unable to make it back, but i could not and the Humans captured him and made him talk, 12 hours later the mortars blew apart the barricks, i was pinned beneath the rubble and could only watch as my friends fell one by one. I buried each of them myself" she said unsure how else to explain who the woman was.
"Do you have any luck breaking into computers?" she asked curiously.
Geo was going to miss Syn and Abyss, there was no doubt about that. But he knew that Big Red would have wanted him to keep working with the Order despite. Not being able to take out his frustrations with human in the form of a few squashed skulls here and there was a bit of an inconvenience but he had to stick by the cause for the better of his species. Geo would just have to find his place in the newly rearranged Order. Even if it meant working for Lori and having to play her way.
Aura's response was surprising. Geo hadn't had a clue of anything about her past, he had always just written her off as crazy not as someone who went through a traumatic experience. It did explain a lot about the way that Aura acted though. Geo didn't imagine he would have found it out any other way. He was never one to go looking into the past and in fact avoided bringing it up unless absolutely necessary.
When Aura asked Geo if he was capable of unlocking the computer for her he tried not to heave a sigh of relief that she wasn't going to continue onto some sort of emotional 'oh woe is me' speech, but then again that was never really the way Aura rolled. "Nah, sorry I get confused just using my cellphone. If it doesn't have an engine in it then I can't help you. Technology is far beyond me." The truth was that Geo hardly ever used computers outside of being forced to take computer classes in school but even then he ended up not doing his work half the time. Something about technology just threw him off. "I'm sure that you could find plenty of people back in the city who could crack that open for you no problem. I doubt any of these low lives even know what a computer looks like." He said throwing a nod at a few people walking into the town at the bottom of the hill.
"I understand" she said slipping the laptop back into her pack. "Im Not much with machines either" she admitted. Their had never been the time to learn to much about them. "You may well be right and if worse comes to worse i can always hunt down a human" she said with a shrug agreeing with Geo's look on things. "I knew a mutant for awhile who could access the Internet with his head, but he is no longer around. I robbed a bank with him once" she said remembering the person. He had been a mansion boy but he had been willing to play against the humans to when it suited him.
Aura heard a scream from down on the path and smiled as several of the humans ran off, when a large fluffy black animal stood with it's tail facinbg whare the humans went, though it had not fired. Aura smiled and after the humans were gone quickly made her way down to the road and scooped the skunk into her arms. "Was wondering whare you got to" she said treating it much like a cat. "People tend to shy away from solkat here, found her at the zoo" she said in explanation.
"A bunch of animal mutants struck the zoo a long time ago and freed the animals, it was a fun fight but this one stuck with me since" she said scratching it behind the ear. "People say it's a skunk but i don't see the diffrence between it and a cat" she said with a shrug. She pulled somthing out of her backpack whcih looked very much like a wallet with a lot of dried blood. "I found this, it has money in it, i took the driver card already though" she said already having her trophy. "I don't much get money myself, never needed it" she said honestly.
Geo laughed as Aura ran to retrieve her "cat" from terrorizing the towns occupants at the bottom of the hill. "I guess Solkat doesn't like humans getting too close." Geo joked. He wasn't exactly fond of the creature either, especially the thought that it would have to come with Geo and Aura into his prized car. The last thing he needed was to spend time trying to get the skunk smell out of his prized car but Aura was an old friend so he would take a chance in that department.
Geo wasn't too surprised when Aura produced a blood covered wallet from her backpack. "Found it, eh?" Geo said with a chuckle. He knew Aura well enough that she probably found it after having a bit of fun with that sword of hers. "Well, like I said I only really have enough for gas the rest of the way back to the Sanctuary but its about a days trip and I'm sure well have to stop and eat at some point along the way." Of course if it wasn't for Geo's obsession for muscle cars he could probably have stretched the money further with a fuel officiant car but the way Geo saw it, if you have to travel than travel with style and nothing said style like a roaring V8 engine.
"I can't wait to get back and see those golden doors again. It's been far too long, and I can't wait to see the new blood either, there's bound to be tons by now."Geo said, he couldn't help but think of the first time that he had ever stepped through those gold doors. It was the first time he had felt like he was home in a long, long time. "Not to mention it'll be nice to finally see some new girls around, lord knows I've chased te skirts there long enough they're starting to catch on to my game." Geo said with a wink and a chuckle. Aura was seemingly the only girl he didn't feel the nagging need to hit on, not that he didn't try at their first meeting but after that Aura just became on of his running buddies. He knew if he ever felt like taking out the occasional humans Aura would always be down to plunder.
"Yea; back at sanctuary she is only around mutants, did u know their are no more humans at sanctuary, except Lisa and ith how she works im not so sure shes human anyway" she said. It was true that she did not restrict solkat's movements in any way and very frequently she wonderd outside. "No matter whare she goes she always seems to come back" she went on placing the skunk upon her shoulders whare it quickly curled up like a fluffy striped scarf with it's tail around her neck.
"I can help thare" she said pulling the stolen honey combs out of her backpack, some larve were still alive. "Honey is good way to keep your energy up, been awhile since i found any. It's not as filling as goat though" she said breaking off a chuck and eating it. She then fed a bit of it to the skunk, which simply dropped it. "The bee's are not a fan but they can't hurt me while my aura's up" she explained, offering a peice.
"Yes their are many new mutants in sanctuary, it seems when some part ways others come to fill their spots. It's an unnerving cycle, but it does bring some beautiful girls to" she said having never connected those two things together before. "Not that i have much luck with them either" she said shaking her head.
"Last time i drove, i drove me and abyss into a pool" she said with a smile though the story was very true.
Geo's stomach turned when Aura produced a chunk of honeycomb from her backpack and offered him a piece. He normally never had a problem with honey but the fact that it was still covered in squirming larva made Geo instantly decline. "Na, I'm good. I perfer a nice double cheese burger thanks." He said waving away the honey comb. She even gave Solkat a chunk but he also declined, seemingly for the same reason if you asked Geo. "Well bee's can still hurt me rather well so I'm good on provoking them thanks." He gave a nervous glance over his shoulder to try and locate the swarm Aura obviously pissed off before he arrived.
Aura seemed a little unimpressed with the idea of new beautiful girls coming the the sactuary and seemed to imply that she never had any luck with them. "Don't worry about it kiddo," He said with a comforting tone. "Just follow my example and you'll have the ladies all over you like white on rice. You'll have to beat them off with a stick." He said with a chuckle.
Aura's little story about her drive with Abyss made him nervous. "Well don't worry there kiddo, noone drives my cars but me, and I have enough experiance for the both of us with some to spare so we'll be all right." He looked back to his purple road runner sitting slanted on the grass of the hill with tire tracks leading from the road. A old man across the street was giving him a rather dirty look. Aparently this was his property and they were defiling it. "Speaking of which, we should get going. I'm afraid if I'm in this pathetic human packed town any longer I'll turn in to one myself." He said jokingly as he began walking down the hill and hopped into his favorite muscle car. Waiting for his accompless to get herself situated and watching the old man staring them down in his mirror.
"I see, but the bee's are mostly dead, they try and sting my aura and all i had to do was roll on the ground a bit" she said with a shrug. "Besides they don't do so well without the queen" she went on. "I understand the concern though, i was stung once myself" she said which was true, before she had learned to use her powers to cover her entire body. Aura was unafraid to eat most things, though she shied away from anything poisonous.
"Would be fun to learn a few things, we had littile time for love, in the woods and most people did not not live very long" she said honestly. "That's the good thing about sanctuary, not nearly as many deaths" she said which was true, back in the woods she had watched many die, either unable to cope or just a hair to slow. She lived because her Aura allowed her to make a non-fatel mistake every so often. Returning to the statement Aura went on. "Well i was hoping to be able to fight with them as well" she said, which was very true.
Aura followed Geo to the car and hopped in. She had little knowledge of cars, but even she could tell this one was different. "I admit, the urge to turn the town into a graveyard has been growing. " she said back to him. "I wonder how long it would take any of these animals to know they were in danger" she said referring to the community. It would have been easy, not a lot of people and plenty of area to store bodies.
"Well it's never to late to learn about love." Geo said to Aura as she climbed into the passenger seat of her car. Reaching into the back seat of the car which was loaded with Geo's personal things, he had been living out of the car for several months now, Geo signaled for Aura that it was fine for her to put her things in the back and make herself comfortable. They had a long drive ahead of them. "And the good thing about the Sanctuary is that we always have new recruits cycling through so if you strike out it doesn't matter because there's another pretty face around the corner. Trust me, you'll find yourself a hot chick or my name ain't Geo." He said with a chuckle in his voice as he turned over the engine sending a roar throughout the small town making several pretty teen girls hanging out on the corner yelp in surprise.
With a last glance at the irritated old man before he shifted the car into gear and peeled out, tearing apart the ground beneath the might vehicle and destroying the grass he was parked on. With a rude hand gesture out the window Geo pulled on to the road and took off down the street through the town, well over the speed limit as always. "I'm sure they knew the second we rolled in to town..." Geo said as he watching in the rear-view window as people stuck their heads out of windows to see what the thunderous noise that was barreling through town. "I seem to find that humans have a knack for knowing when they are in danger. Whether they do anything about it or not." Geo believed that thoroughly. Most stupid animals had that instinct and humans weren't exempt from this in the least bit.
As Geo sped through town, which didn't take but a few moments before they were nearly clear of it entirely, he really unleashed the engine as they hit the open road with not another ounce of civilization in sight for miles. The roar of the engine was almost deafening but Geo rolled up both windows, his own left open slightly, and the noise was muffled greatly. Geo had modified the cab to be nearly sound proof. Not being able to talk with passengers can get to be quite irritating, especially when trying to court a woman though this was not one of those cases. Lighting a cigarette, driving with his knees as he did so, Geo inhaled deep and began to speak. Replacing his hand on the steering wheel. "So I'm worried as to this slowly pushing out humans policy that Lori adopted. I'm afraid it will make us look weak. I mean nothing says 'fear me' better than mass homicide and it's been working for us for years." Geo took another hit and flicked the tip of his cigarette out of the window. He wasn't sure if he'd be as good at playing it low key as he was the more obvious approaches.
"I would enjoy that, i do enjoy sitting near the door at sanctuary watching each new mutant's powers and their looks." Aura said though their was more to it then that. Aura felt if she knew what each mutant could do then she could better fight them, or fight with them as the case might be. Aura truly believed their was little more beautiful then their mutations. "Whoever she is should be a worthy adversary in the dance, would not wnat them to die to easily" she said assuming they would likely both be fighting and killing humans.
"I do know the human police have learned to shoot before they ask me to put my hand sup" she said which was true. Mainly because when they did advise her to do so, she put up her Aura and attacked them. Now they were just happy to have an open shot at her. "Maybe but they do tend to cry wolf a lot, theirs been times whare i have killed humans just to end their whining." she said which was true. Aura sometimes did choose not to kill, but most of the time ended up doing so anyway.
"very true, i voiced my concern upon it after Syn fell. In the woods if you saw a human, they were pray and you killed them or they would certainly kill you. Holding back the urge to simply kill humans has been tough, i went from killing several people per day to maybe once or twice a week, and normelly some pathetic drug dealer with bad aim" she said honestly. She had no love for Lori's plan, save for one thing. "Even if the humans bombed sanctuary by plane, the news would spark mutant riots, whare a great many humans would fall trying to stop the carnage." she saw excited by the very idea of a mutant human war. "Still Lori has made sanctuary, mutant only, less humans live near sanctuary and the mutant population in the area is also up. And you do get to play when a human does not pay their protection money, i have killed a number of people for failure to pay, but normelly broken furniture does wonders." she said realizeing she had gone way off topic. She was not quite a fan of Lori's vision for the order. Aura knew however that orders, would be orders.
