The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

The morning came. Sun crept over the jigsaw edge of the partial wall in Lenna's bedroom from the main windows in the adjacent living room, lighting up the upper half of the wall. Lenna sighed. Something was warm against her cheek... but for some reason, her backside was cold. And her back. What the hell? Fingers clenched the covers, unclenched, and stretched. She slowly opened her eyes.
There was a man beneath her. A very familiar man. Not wearing his shirt. Her mind strained for a second, sifting back through memories to recall what she'd done last night. She ran through a mental checklist, took stock. He was in her bed. He wasn't wearing his shirt. He was asleep. She wasn't wearing her shirt. She had been. Neither of them had made it under the covers of the bed. The slightest pangs of hangover reminder hung in the back of her mind, telling her she'd been drinking. They were both fully-clothed, though... at least, from the waistline down. Nothing had happened. Something told her she'd wanted it to. She wouldn't have minded... what had happened?
Ah well. It didn't matter. There was no hurry. She was still a little tired, and he was warm. She was his blanket, and he was hers, so... she decided she was okay with closing her eyes a bit more and hugging Michael for warmth. That is, if it didn't wake him first. And if it did, for some reason, she had a sudden inexplicable hankering for coffee...
Sometime after the sun rose and illuminated the room the Ranger stirred and opened his eyes. In the barely awake state he couldn't place where he was at first, but soon came to realize he was in Lenna's bedroom. This dispelled any thoughts of the last night only having been a great dream.
He could feel that Lenna was still on top of him, hugging him. He looked down his chest and saw her laying there. His arms moved inward, sliding his forearms further over Lenna's back. He did not say anything or attempt to get up in case she was still asleep, rather he just lay there and watched her.
It seemed that had woken him up. A grin spread across her face as he moved. He was trying to be careful so that he didn't wake her. It hadn't worked.
"Last night was great," She said, without moving from where she lay. "I was worried you didn't like me. That everything was just 'business'. Guess not."
It seemed Lenna was not still asleep, she spoke without even moving her head to look him. She said the prior night was great, and that she was worried he didn't like her.
"Yes it was." The Ranger agreed, he took in a breath his chest rising and then cleared his throat with what sounded like something growling. "Oh, I certainly did... I guess I was always jus' too distracted by the missions at hand." The Ranger smiled and added, "I'm sure glad I wised up las' night though."
"Me too," Lenna blew a hair from her forehead with a quiet sigh. "Otherwise, I would have had to kick you to the curb." She laughed to herself and rested her chin on his chest, looking up at Michael's face. "And that just wouldn't have been as fun."
Lenna turned her head so her chin was on his chest as opposed to her cheek, and stated had he not she'd have kicked him to the curb.
"Mos' certainly not as fun. Especially since' I wouldn't've gotten t' have any coffee." He laughed a little at the statement and smiled a rather naughty smile.
"Coffee." Lenna said teasingly. "That's right. I woke up earlier having an inexplicable craving for coffee. Why is that?" She pursed her lips, tilting her head at him curiously.
Coffee was good, and judging by his expression, very good. She could connect the dots.
Lenna smirked at him. "I suppose I could start up a pot. Move over, though. It's cold. I want to get under the covers and warm up."
"Las' night you invited me in fer coffee. When I walked in I was treated to..." The Ranger trailed off as he craned his neck to bring his face close enough to kiss Lenna.
"That."
Lenna suggested that she should start up a pot of coffee. She also stated she'd like to crawl under the covers for warmth. She did have the misfortune to sleep on top of him without a shirt on, whereas he was between a bed and a warm body.
He slid his right arm off Lenna's back and used it to push himself up onto his elbow. "I'll get up off 'em then." He would wait for Lenna to get up before getting up himself.
Very good. Smirk-worthy, even. Enough of a jumpstart to get her moving to start up a new pot of the good stuff. Something nice and good to warm her up.
She got up, and slid under the covers, once she could.
Lenna beckoned at Michael as he stood by her bedside. He needed to rejoin her, ASAP. "I think the coffee is ready," Lenna announced.
Lenna got off the Ranger and he climbed off the bed. Once he was off Lenna slid up under the covers. Ranger took the chance to stretch, until he saw Lenna beckoning him hither.
"I think the coffee is ready,"
At that the Ranger pulled back the covers and crawled into Lenna's bed, drawing the covers back over the two of them. "I'll take a cup." he said as he moved to kiss her...
