The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

“Why am I doing this again?” Greg Kellerman pulled off his shoes and put them into his gym back, “We both know I am just here to be a practice dummy.”
“And that’s why yu’r here.” Miri had agreed to do this class a month ago so she wouldn’t be bored on her forced leave. For some reason she didn’t think about the fact that most people annoyed her and she was more of a tell what to do instead of a teach what to do type of person. This was really not the best decision she had ever made. It was kind of like her choice to work undercover work while she was in a committed relationship, and much like that relationship, she anticipated that this may not end well for most of the people involved. But, Miri always tried to keep her promises.
“I love that you think so much of me after working together for 3 years.”
“Yu’r Welcome.” Miri smirked at him before turning the stereo and plugging in her IPod. She made sure to turn the music real low so it was only background noise and the potential students could hear her talk over it.
Lori breathed deep. She had to keep her zen in order to keep her powers in check. She had to keep her powers in check because she was holding electrical equipment. An RF detector, specifically. It was trained on the frequency of an Adapted that she had yet to scope out. Lori made it her business to know every adapted in her town. She had her reasons and not all of them shower-related.
This one had led her to... a gym.
The blonde wasn't exactly dressed to work out, but this was just recon. for now. She stuffed the contraption in her pocket when the screen turned entirely to rainbow colors. Stupid power destroyed just about everything she touched. She would have to remember to stay away from people's portable mp3-things.
And since when were there so many machines in a work out place? Televisions, treadmills... half these machines looked like they did the hard parts for the people. Lori much preferred their simple dumbell set and pull bar back at the Sanctuary.
As casually as she could manage, Lori walked past the rows of people.
Not a twinge. Not until she got toward the back where the glass fronted classrooms were. The Order leader swallowed and popped her head in to one where a man and woman were milling around, setting things up like mood music.
"What class is this?" Her tracker was as useless as a doorstop now, but her power told her that one of these two was an Adapted. She couldn't tell for sure which one it was so... if it sounded interesting she would stick around to figure it out, proper dress or not.

>>What class is this?
Miri turned to look at the pretty blond in the doorway. ”This is Self Defense for Women as taught by the FBI.” Miri looked over to her teaching partner, “Well sort of. It’s really as taught by an FBI agent and her test dummy.”
“Hey!!” Greg looked hurt by the comment even though he had just made one much like it.
“Come on in.” Miri walked over to retrieve her water bottle out of her gym bag and stood to look at Greg, “Do you realize that ya whine more than Jonny Famigliano during… well… ya know.”
“I don’t’ think anyone could whine more than that guy.”
Miri almost coked on her water as she laughed into it, “You are probably right on that one,” She closed the bottle and placed in on the corner of the mat at the front of the room.
When she turned back Miri actually got a good look at the first woman to enter the room. She was wearing street shoes and t-shirt, which were to be expected, but the part that through off Miri was the khaki pants, “Are you sure you are in the right place.”
Lori hated feeling under prepared, but when facing the unknown, how can you possibly prepare for everything? The electro-magnet had worn comfortable running shoes and loose clothes in anticipation of having to run or possibly sit around and try to look inconspicuous while she tried to pinpoint the adapted.
A tee, baggy khaki cargo pants and tennis shoes were not what she would have picked had she known that she would be attempting some kind of pretend martial art. She definitely had not planned in walking into a room with a 50/50 chance of Adapted. That meant they knew her face and they knew hers.
"I'm a woman. I could use some defending so yeah, I think this would be the place for me."
The blonde muttered something good natured sounding about not knowing there would be a dress code and then shrugged the matter of her attire away. There was nothing short of "subway shopping" that she could do to get a change of clothes now. Considering that these two (or maybe just one?) was FBI meant stealing from unsuspecting subway goers was off the list. Besides, she usually took a dummy bag to swap. Straight up stealing is harder.
Blue eyes flicked over the two as the bantered in a casual and comfortable way. She thought a few unmentionable things just to be sure one wasn't a mind reader. Sure, one was an Apated, but the other was an unknown. Nobody seemed to notice her dirty mind so she let herself relax a little and think what she liked.
Another perfect work-out ready girl entered the room and Lori shuffled out of her way. There was no way she was leaving yet. She hadn't finished her favorite game: pin the radius on the Adapted.
