The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Neena made her way to the Danger Room, getting a bit lost at first, and entered the Observation Room. She sat at the controls, trying to figure out how to get the settings she wanted, before Nika arrived.

But Nika had arrived before Neena was expecting her. "So, what are we gonna do Neena?" The girl looked at the teacher with anticipation and curiousity.

"So, what are we gonna do Neena?"
"Eh? Oh, hi Nik-ahh!"
Neena hadn't heard Nika come in, so when she heard her voice, Neena turned around. She wasn't surprised, but apparently had forgotten that she'd hooked her foot under the wheeled foot of the chair. When she went to stand up, of course her foot remained caught, which landed Neena on the floor on her stomach, looking at Nika's feet.
"Hmm... Well, that was interesting..." With a sigh, she pushed herself to her knees, then stood. Smiling, she continued on as if nothing had happened.
"All right, let's see. First of all it might be good to get a better overall view of your abilities. Are you up for a quick run through of your basic mutation? We'll hold off on the supercharge for now, since its draining."

The girl sprung to try to help catch Neena. Cupping under the woman's arm she helped Neena back into her chair. "Are you ok?" When neena was stable again the cat girl listened to her suggestion.

Neena waved away the girls concern with a smile.
"Ok that sounds good to me. What should I do?"
"Well.... Hmm...." Neena hesitated for a moment, tapping the console. She needed to see what Nika was capable of, but she also wasn't keen on setting her against a battle bot; it was too much like the pit fighting, and whether Nika was okay with it or not, Neena wasn't.
Instead she decided to trying something else. A few keystrokes later, two sets of creatures began to appear in the room below. The first set contained a cheetah, a quarter horse, and an olympic runner. The second set contained a crocidile, a rottweiler, and a linebacker, standing in front of a metal bar.
"Okay, lets try speed and strength first." Neena pointed as a basic race track appeared around the first set. "Just a basic race to see where you stand with the fastest people and animals in the world. After that, I want you to hit that bar as hard as you can with both hands." The bar was set to 5000 psi (pounds per square inch), which was the croc's bite strength. The bar would measure the hit, and give Neena a general idea of the girl's strength.

A bunch of animals a couple athletes appeared. Apparently she was to race one group and then test her strength against the other group. The cat girl watched as a race track appeared. This might actually be fun to test herself Nika thought as she measured up her competition.
First test was for speed. Nika lined up along side the cheetah, the quarter horse and the olypmic althete. She never really knew how fast she was just using her normal power. Heck, she didn't know how fast she was when she was charged up for that matter. Nika stretched a bit before getting on the line. Her competitors also lined up and they all waited for the signal.
An airhorn blew and the cheetah exploded off the line and became a yellow and black blur as it stretched out it's run. Nika and the olypmic runner were the next two off the line but after a couple feet the quarter horse raced by and was soon off in the distance. Now it was betweeen the runner and Nika. The cat girl was giving the olympian a good run as she stayed with him, but as the finish line drew closer the young cat girl was dropping back and crossed three steps behind the champion runner.
Nika fought to catch her breath as she smiled to the other runners. She hoped it gave Neena an idea of how fast she was now. Nika walked around slowly and regained her breath, but looking over at the next group of opposition reminded her that she wasn't done yet.
Steping up to the bar first was a guy who looked like a pro football player. He was really big and looked powerful. The man hit the bar but no one but Neena could see how the hit registered. Next the rottweiler bit the bar and again the result was sent to Neena. The next competitor was the crocodile. It snapped it's jaws shut on the bar and Nika thought she heard some sort of sound come from the observation room. When the reptile moved away Nika stepped up and took a moment to measure up the bar. She clasped both hands together and slammed them down onto the bar as hard as she could. The bar kind of hurt her hands but she rubbed them and they felt better after a little while.
Unsure if Neena could hear her Nika called up to the woman. "So how did I do?"

Neena marked Nika's speed as she crossed the finish line just behind the runner. She was above 20 mph. The max for a normal human body was somewhere around 26-30 mph. Of course that was human, not mutant. Neena had no doubt that Nika could push herself past that, given some time and practice.
The strength test brought a bit of a frown to Neena's face, though not because of anything that was happening.
It was the crocodile. Neena had lost her mother to a crocodile when she was two. She remembered watching from the banks, though the images were mainly filled with blurs of white and red. Even then Neena had been unafraid of what was happening. But that didn't stop the anger and sadness from flooding her for the rest of her life, anytime the memory resurfaced. When the croc chomped down on the bar, Neena turned away, and slammed a fist down on the console. The pain was enough to jolt her back to reality. Her face became blank again as she watched the rest of the test.
Nika measured just higher then the football player; quite a feat considering the man was over six feet tall and just shy of 300 lbs, while Nika just barely cleared five feet. Neena could only guess, but she figured the girl also probably just cleared 100 lbs as well.
"So how did I do?" Nika called up. Neena tapped in a command, and the courses and opponents disappeared. She left and made her way down into the main room, smiling widely.
"Not bad. Not bad at all. I don't envy anyone shy of a martial artist going up against you even at this level. We'll save the supercharged tests for later. For now, let's get to the boring part."
A net rose from the floor, and a tennis court formed below it. Three generic females appeared from the shadows, taking up places on one side of the course in a line. A ball shot out of nowhere, which Neena caught and began tossing into the air.
"Okay. First off, since you've never played tennis, you won't have to forget the rules. 'Cause we're not playing by them," she chuckled. "Basically they'll hit the ball to you, and you need to hit it back to them. You go until someone drops the ball. However I have two 'catches' if you will. First, I want you to smack it back with your hands." She handed the tennis ball to Nika. "It's going to sting like nobody's business, especially one the hits get going. But I wan't you to build up some pain tolerance here. Oftentimes, pain saps your energy," she explained, "as well as distracts you. Especially during battle. If you can increase your tolerance, pain will become less of a distraction, and you'll be able to fight longer. So I want you start off hitting with your hands only. When it gets to be too much, call out 'Pause', and switch to a racket." She pointed out the rackets leaning against a chair on on the sidelines. "Once the pain subsides enough, switch over again, and so on.
"Catch number two is going to test your legs and reflexes a bit. I want you to alternate your hits to land on opposites sides of the court. In other words, first hit goes left, second right, third left, and so on. That's going to get your heart rate up and your legs burning. We'll start out with a fifteen minutes session, 'kay? Don't want to burn you out too quickly."
Despite the smile, her tone held the promise that the short session would not remain short for long.
Hit the ball with my hands? Nika thought. That sounded easy enough but she wasn't too keen on the pain part.
The cat girl didn't get much more time to think about it as one of the female figures hit the ball at Nika. It was an easy hit so Nika was able to quickly get into position to hit the ball back. She remembered Neena telling her to hit the ball in opposite sides each time so she hit it to hte left first. The ball stung her hand a bit as it was the first time her hand and the ball connected, but she did exactly what was asked of her as the ball went to the left side. This continued as the female figures hit the ball harder and faster. Nika fighting against the sting from each impact but able to keep up with hitting the ball opposite directions.
Eleven minutes into it Nika yelled out, "PAUSE!" Her hands stung like crazy but at the same rime there were alomst becoming numb. Nika rubbed her hands together as she went over to the side of the court and picked up the racket. She didn't want to switch to the racket but Neena didn't want the girl to use her power either. So Nika finished all but the last two minutes with the racket until she switched back to using her hands.
When the program stopped Nika was breathing pretty hard and rubbing her hands in hopes of making the stinging sensation go away. The girl sat down and waited for Neena to make a comment.

A slight bob of her head was the only indicator that Neena was watching, though behind the glasses her eyes took in all the details.
At the eleven-minute mark Nika paused, then switched to the racket. Neena was not surprised, but she was glad to see her finish the exercise with her hands.
"Simulation finished."
"End session. Coolant pack, please," she replied aloud. The women and the net vanished, and the room lightened slightly. "Good beginning. Very good. That's all for today." A pedestal appeared with what looked like silver juice packet, with a blue gel inside. She picked it up and handed it to Nika; it was like a hot water bottle, but cooling instead, and would help ease a bit of the sting in the girl's hands.
"We'll stick with short sessions at first, only fifteen to thirty minutes at a time, and slow increases in between. Then we'll add another activity in the same session. However, feel free to try it on your own at other times, on the courts outside."
She smiled and motioned for the door, and moved to leave. Then she paused and turned. "Oh, and one more thing. Before you go to bed tonight, you might try stretching out your leg muscles as well, so you won't be so stiff in the morning. 'kay?"
Most likely the catgirl wouldn't be as stiff as anyone else attempting the same exercise, due to her natural agility. Still, after several days of repeating the same moves, even she would begin to feel the effects.
---------------------------------
Then next day found Neena snoozing in the chair at the console with a book laying on her chest, one arm hanging limp. She had gone there to wait for Nika, started reading, and promptly zone out.
Nika gladly accepted the cool pack and kept it between her hands as Neena gave further instructions. The girl nodded as Neena reminded her to stretch before bed. "Thank you so much for helping me Miss Neena." With that she headed out of the Danger Room and made her way to her own room.
The hot water from the shower helped relax her body and she did some stretching while letting the water beat down on her like a mini massage. Though she wasn't fond of water in general she did like hot showers.
After cleaning up Nika put on her pj's and stretched out some more before going to bed. While she slept she dreamt of those darn females hitting balls at her like rapid fire machines.
The next morning Nika sat up and felt some of her muscles ache. So, sliding off her bed she stretched some more and got dressed to go look for Neena.
When she got to the Danger Room Nika found Neena fast asleep in one of the chairs.
"Miss Neena? Miss Neena?" She spoke softly so she didn't startle the woman.

Neena's nose twitched. She scracted her nose. She twitched again.
"Aaa... aaah..." What started as a sneeze turned into a yawn. She rubbed her nose again and settled back, still asleep.
"Aaah... CHOO!!" Neena jerked in her chair and sat upright suddenly, knocking the book onto the floor. The woman blinked, then looked up at Nika. She yawned again, and chuckled.
"Hiya Nika. I was checking my eyelids for cracks." She grinned. "Ready for another session?" She tapped a few keys, and the tennis net appeared below, but only two hitters this time. Then she picked up a racket that was lying on the floor. "Mind if I join you today? That looked fun yesterday."

"Basically the same as yesterday, except I'm going to join the girls in trying to keep you on your toes." She motioned toward the main room. "So, did you stretch already? I hope you weren't too stiff this morning."
She took up a spot in the center of the court. She hadn't done this in a while; she wondered if she could keep up. It would be interesting if nothing else.
