The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Character
Personality:
Akasha is fiercely independent, sarcastic, direct, stubborn and confrontational, but also has a care-free abd adventurous personality that not many people get to see. Whenever you know this part of her, you know that she laughs at/with/about just about anything and has a wide sense of humor. She's tough, unyielding and steadfast. She is very tomboyish in the way she acts and dresses.Akasha loves battling and takes great pride in her earth elemental powers. She appears eager to prove that she strong, and her pride is a big fault of hers. Akasha's eagerness to prove that she can be independent can lead to some initial difficulties with people. She is also brutally honest (in her own opinions) when criticizing others. Her occasional attitude problem or her occasional aloofness is a lot of the time because she does not want people seeing her pain or any sort of weakness and doesn't want anyone getting too close and avoids getting "deep" or personal with anyone. When you first meet her she can be really silent, not wanting to talk to anyone at all.
One of Akasha's most obvious traits involves personal hygiene. She is accustomed to lying on the ground and walking everywhere barefoot leaving her soles quite soiled, though this is understandable as she likes having her feet touching the ground because of her powers, feeling more attune that way. Also, she has been seen belching loudly, picking her nose, spitting, and is usually covered in dirt or, as she calls it, "a healthy coating of earth".
Hobbies/ Interests: Skateboarding, walking around, playing sports, fighting,
Job or part time job and description: pizza delivery service @ Lombardi's pizza
Fears/ phobias/ concerns: Drowning because she cannot swim. Falling. Falling to her death. Heights. Becoming deaf or blind. Becoming helpless in any way shape or form. Being hurt or heartbroken. Being found out by police and arrested and put in jail.
Special talents: Can sing like an angel... is a bad ass, never back down fighter... and she can wiggle her ears.
Morality
Good/ bad/ neutral/ other: Neutral. Because of Akasha's experiences, she is neither good nor bad because she does not trust anyone. Not even herself. Other than that she is really tender hearted. Has a sympathetic heart for those being oppressed, and animals, especially dogs.
Mutations
manipulation of earth
Mutation description:
Akasha has the superhuman ability to manipulate earth in any form, from solid rock to mud, which she uses with increasing skill for numerous effects, both offensive and defensive in capabilities to overwhelm opponents.
Akasha must be moving some part of her body in order to bend the earth. Her fighting skills come in handy with this. She features heavily rooted stances and strong kicks and punches that evoke the mass and power of earth. The bending of the earth, and with her fighting skills, she maintains a distinct balance between offensive and defensive capabilities (though she does tend to ignore a lot of defensive techniques).
Offensive- hurling rocks of various sizes (even multiple rocks simultaneously) as projectiles at opponents. Typical 53-56 MPH Top speed 58-61. Not as fast as a major league baseball or a bullet so its definitely dodge able.. More like a pro fastpitch softball.
Secondary mutation description: Defensive- Forming of Stone Walls, fists, and shields.
Weaknesses/Strenths:
~Weak against wind elements. ~Weak against water elements (sort of). ~Akasha's powers are firmly rooted to the ground she's stand on. Her bending of the earth ability is at its strongest when the feet are in direct contact with the ground, enabling her to transfer her kinetic and spiritual energies into their bending for fast and powerful moves. Being connected to the earth is a very important aspect of Akasha's spirituality. Removing Akasha any substantial distance from the earth, such as in the air or on the ocean, strips her of her ability to bend. ~Disadvantage in places that lack the earth element. ~wood cannot be subject to Akasha's Earthbending because it isn't a mineral nor is it mineral-like. ~Because of her aggressive personality and lack of patience, and since the bending of the earth element requires a lot of listening and waiting for the right moment to strike, her moves are rather easy to depict. ~When the time comes to strike, it must be done without hesitation or uncertainty, which is where her aggressive personality comes in handy. If Akasha lacks determination, the earth will not respond to her will too easily. ~Cannot attack and defend at the same time. It's either one or the other. ~Approximate speed of rocks is dependent on the movement of Akasha's own body (how fast) and the size of the rock itself (mass/weight). The bigger the rock, the heavier, the slower. For example, a typical sized rock would probably be not that much bigger than a softball. Typical 53-56 MPH Top speed 58-61. Not as fast as a major league baseball or a bullet so its definitely dodge able.. More like a pro fastpitch softball. Anything bigger than that would be slower.
Fighting Style (Explained in Mutation Description)
Explanation:
Pros for fighting style: They are direct and powerful.
Cons for fighting style: They are easily predictable.

History Of Your Character
Akasha was born to a very wealthy and important family in Europe. Her father's mother was British and his father was Greek, but he inherited his mother's name because of a breakup. Akasha's mother was spanish-hindu and her parents were both hindu but their parents were spanish and hindu. Akasha was loved by her family very much because she was the only girl amongst many boys.
One day when Akasha turned three, during one of her temper tantrums, that was when she first showed her power. The house shook as the earth underneath them shook as if there were an earthquake, but it would pass quicky as Akasha's tantrums didn't last long. Her parents were skeptical at first but as it happened each time Akasha had an uncontrollable tantrum, they grew afraid and send her away to a foster home, and never did they go to see her.
Unfortunately, it was not the healthiest of environments, in fact, it wasn't even good for children (or for anybody for that matter). The foster home was like a war zone for kids. The people in charge of the home did not take care of matters efficiently and it was often enough that the children went without food or proper clothing. The children fought amongst themselves for just about anything. The only order they had was the power the headmaster had over the children and the fear he instilled upon them. When people would come to adopt a child, the ones in the worst conditions were hidden away. When the healthy ones were adopted, it just meant more food to go around and more children to fatten up for the next round.
Akasha was turned into a domestic slave in the orphanage; trying to clean up the condition of the home was nearly impossible, so she focused on the areas that would be seen by public, such as the lobby, the classrooms and the living room. She also cooked. It was because of the fact she had all kids of enemies in the home. Many of the children believed she got to eat more food because of this even though she did not, and was forced to eat alone. She did her best to distribute the food evenly amongst all the children, but most of the time there just wasn't enough to go around, and she got the blame. One of the huge disadvantages of cooking is serving everyone and eating last yourself.
Akasha had to learn how to fend for herself in such an environment, especially since there were very few girls in the orphanage. She grew distrustful and emotionally unstable. The only trust she could place was with herself. And a stray cat named Astro that liked to hang around. She was often questioning her own identity and why her parents did not want her. She barely remembered their faces.
As Akasha grew older, they sent her from home to home all over Europe, but she was never adopted. At some point, her files were completely lost. Throughout this time there were never any incidents. Until that one fateful day.
She was in the kitchen, stirring a giant pot of watered down soup with very few noodles; basically nothing but water with salt. A new wave of families had entered the home that day. Luckily, they weren't allowed in the kitchen. Except for that day, the headmaster had failed to take to the careful care he usually takes to. One family had wandered away and entered the kitchen. It was a woman and a man, both happily married. But there was a problem. The woman could never conceive a child. And they had been searching for that one special addition to their family for a long time. The woman looked at Akasha and knew she was the one. Akasha smiled as the woman took her hands and her heart beat fast and hard in her chest. Was this moment really happening?
Suddenly, the headmaster sprung into the living room yelling, claiming Akasha to be her daughter. Akasha's smile turned vile as her hope suddenly fell. He dragged her away to a back room after shooing the childless parents out and locked her in a tiny room in the floor that was quite frequently used for punishment. Akasha was shocked and disturbed and couldn't believe this had happened to her. He had destroyed her chance at a real and normal life. Akasha's brow furrowed as she began to hyperventilate. The ground began to shake but she didn't notice and didn't try to calm herself down. She covered her ears and screamed long and loud; years of pain flooding out. The walls, which were made of earth, started to crack. She could only hear the sound of her beating heart beating against her eardrums loud and clear. The ground split and tore the floor above her causing the door to break.
Then, Akasha's tantrum had ended quickly when she realized what was happening and sought to control herself. She kicked the door open and ran.
Thirteen year old Akasha ran right out of there and never looked back. IT was a huge struggle, but she survived on the streets for a year, stealing food when she got too hungry, digging through trash for food or aluminum cans she could sell. It wasn't so bad, she was used to enduring hunger for long periods of time, and she was used to her clothes being dirty and worn out, so it wasn't an entirely large adjustment. And just like she learned to stay away from certain things and people in the orphanage, she learned to stay away from smugglers and sex slave traffickers, drug dealers, et cetera. She refused to take refuge in any shelter, ever, for fear they might throw her back into the foster care system.
One day she saw a flier, and old flier but still. It was a demonstrative flier of a voyage to America from back in the 1500s. Obviously fake, but the idea had already been implanted into Akasha's head. She now dreamed of going to America. It would be easier for her to make a life there, and perhaps she could understand more about herself there. Perhaps she could learn to control... whatever it was.
The closest dock from where she was in Liverpool was the Princess Dock. The Docks in Liverpool is amongst the largest of the world, if not, but not that Akasha knew this fact. She hadn't had much education in her life.
Her plan was to sneak onto one of the export ships to America and hide the entire way to America. She managed to do so, but she got found out about halfway there when she got too hungry and decided to steal a little food. She figured they wouldn't miss a good handful of something. But it wasn't to be. She got caught and the captain and sailors laughed about throwing her overboard. Akasha feared for her life because she believed them. She hadn't been out much of her life, so she couldn't understand they were joking. She wouldn't understand that they wouldn't really do that to a little boy(or at least they thought she was a boy because she cut her hair off to make it seem that way. She had a tough and dirty enough face to play it off). She freaked out and cried, begging for them to spare her. The captain laughed a hearty laugh and took pity on her and taking her in as a part of her crew. But more of a prisoner. He let her stay on his ship for the rest of the trip. But not before he made her clean every inch of it. And he wouldn't let her rest until she was done; punishment for sneaking on board and getting a free ride to America. Eventually she finished, and passed out from hunger and exhaustion. When she awoke they gave her all the food she could eat (at least more than she'd ever seen in her lifetime). They took care of her and suddenly it was as if she were one of them. Albeit it was a bit big on her, they gave her spare clothing to get out of the raggedy old ones. She picked up their sarcastic humor quickly and admired their unruly and tough behavior. The Captain, of course, gave her tough love, but she still grew to like him very much. After several days, they finally reached America. She marveled at the sight of the Liberty Statue. She thought it was the most beautiful thing in the world. It was a bittersweet moment leaving the ship, but she had to. One of the men of the ship had cleaned and patched up her fitting clothes back together so that she could wear. She thanked him, and everyone else, and left.
It was dark and rainy that day, but Akasha didn't care. She was in America. She enjoyed watching the insane traffic and the people going by about their business in their suits, and the insane amount of lights at night. To Akasha, it was as if the city was alive. Now fourteen years old, and having some experience on the streets, she got around quickly. She didn't care for stealing when she really needed something and wasn't shy about using public bathrooms to bathe or something like that. She took extreme care to stay away from police, especially since she was an illegal immigrant.
When Akasha was fifteen years old, she joined a gang of troublemaking teenagers. Some were homeless like her, others were just there for the fun. The non-homeless kids thought they could push the homeless kids around but they learned otherwise when Akasha took them on. The group of teenagers decided to form a band. Akasha liked the drums, but they really needed a singer and since two of the members could play the drums awesomely, Akasha chose to try out singing, and it turned out that she was amazing at it. She could go from a beautiful ballad to hardcore pig-squealing easily.
After a year with being with this gang, (and picking up a bad reputation with the police with the gang) she accidentally slipped and used her powers when she got really angry and hurt one of the members. They ostracized her and kicked her out of the group because they were afraid and called her a "Mutant freak". She didn't quite understand the term "mutant", but she got the gist of "freak" and took off, angry and hurt, but understanding. She was too different from them. And she knew this would have happened eventually.
She had done her own form of research about mutants and learned a lot about the Xavier institution. She was curious about them but wasn't about to trust them. Being a good girl just wasn't her thing. IT was then that she thought she needed a job instead of bumming around. After much searching she finally got a job as pizza deliverer in Lombardi's pizza along Spring St and Motts St. She didn't like the manager very much. She had to pay 10% of her paycheck to him to keep him quiet about her not being a citizen, and also work as many hours as he wanted her to work. Akasha saw this as the Price of freedom, and although she didn't like it, she had to put up with it. After a while of raising money, she got an apartment; very tiny and cramped, cracks on the walls, tiny window, no hot water...but she didn't complain because the rent was very cheap and her pay wasn't so great. It was just nice to have a roof over her head; a place to call her own. She bought a skateboard and picked up on skateboarding so that she could have a way to get to work every day and deliver her pizzas because they didn't provide a form of transportation.
This is current day Akasha. She is interested in learning, having never gone to school herself, so she occasionally buys books. Lately she's had an interest in mechanics but its too complicated for her. A lot of times she likes to go to very very secluded areas and play with her powers. SHe started reading up on martial arts, and took a great liking to it. She couldn't really afford to take lessons, so she watched from a distance and mimicked their movements, practicing in her tiny apartment. Her forms were never perfect (probably not that great at all) but she picked up fighting really fast and was a great fighter. It wouldn't be impossible for someone like her to have the ability to quickly learn skills. In order to survive on the streets as a little girl, she'd have to have to have not only a strong will but a quick mind and body. She became more confident in the streets and of fending off potential threat. She tried practicing in public once, at a park, and found it to be a grave mistake. It seemed that the ground responded whenever she gestured in a aggressive movement. She grew curious about it and instead practiced in more solitary places. Akasha was a natural at anything physical she put her mind to, including sports. She is very lonesome as she doesn't have any friends and although she is outgoing, her social skills aren't great. She wont let herself forget her name, though she likes to tell people her name is simply NOVA. Her name is the only connection she has to her family and race. To where she was born and where she could have belonged.

Akasha sighed heavily as she plopped down onto an empty bench in Central park. She laid down and and her golden yellow eyes took in the great abyss that was the night sky. The stars were covered by the dirty dark smogs in the sky people call clouds. She wore a short black torn tank top and torn up black pants. SHe was barefoot, as usual, loving the feel of the ground on her feet. It was chilly out but Akasha didn't really care.
It wasn't too late out and there were still a few people in the park. Akasha closed her eyes, feeling the cool wind against her goosebumped covered dark skin. A man's voice echoed loudly in the night nearby, and there were a few other frantic voices. She opened her eyes and sat up, looking for the source of the disturbance. She found it quickly and watched a moment.
There were three older teenagers messing with a rather lanky and nerdy looking kid. For some reason, she was angered by this. She didn't understand why. If anything, she'd be one of those punks messing with that poor kid. And she'd probably enjoy it. But now all she felt was anger towards those punks and pity for the kid who can't even defend himself.
"Hey loser, what's the matter? Aw, is the little baby crying for his mama?"
The teenagers took turn shoving the kid from one person to the other. One of them snatched his backpack and threw all of his stuff into the night. If Akasha didn't know any better, she'd guess the kid was homeless, considering how he was dressed, and the stuff that flew out of his backback.
"You dirty little freak!" The tallest one was about to give the poor kid a knuckle-sandwich as he grabbed him by his shirt, when a pebble hit him in the back of his head.
"Ow!" He dropped the boy and put a hand to the back of his head. He turned around and looked for whoever was responsible. He wasn't expecting what.. or who he was about to look at.
He faced a girl, shorter than him but still tall, dark skinned with crimson hair and golden piercing eyes with an amazing body. Akasha put a hand on her hip and with the other hand tossed another larger pebble up and down.
"Hey." Akasha's smirk grew wider. The punk pointed at her fiercly.
"HEY? You got some nerve, you little ****! You the one who threw that rock at me?"
"I don't know. Am I?" Akasha shrugged, smiling amusingly.
"Oh, I see what's going on here. Hehehe... you wanna play games, B****? Alright, I'll play." THe punk smiled and his group of losers began to surround Akasha slowly but she didn't seem to mind.
"Sure. I'll play a game. How about this? You go pick on somebody you're on size. Or you turn around and walk away and save yourselfs from a world full of pain."
"Hahahaha!" He turned to his comrades. "We got a joker, too! I don't think she heard what I said. Maybe I just need to express myself in a different manner." His groupies chuckled as he punched his own hand. He seemed confused about his target, it seemed.
"It's called being handled. But something tells me you're used to that."
"oooooo..." His gang of cowards cooed.
"SHUT UP!" He shouted. "That's it you're gonna get it now!"
"Ah, screw-heads, you just made my s*** list. Here's a little something from the scum of the earth." She spoke to herself.
He meant to punch her in the face but shes sidestepped, turned, and kneed him in the side.He fell over in pain but another one came. He high kicked but she intercepted with a kick to his kicked, grabbed his punch by his fist, twisted his arm and elbowed his arm in the elbow, breaking it. She had expected another one to come but no one else came. As the two squirmed on the ground in pain, she turned and saw that the rest were frozen in place looking as if they were about to s*** their pants. She could only take one guess as to why, and she was right. During the heat of the fight, rocks and boulders were lifted off the ground around them and floated. Akasha sighed. But then smiled. She got an idea.
She blinked and then stepped forward hard as if going to run after them. She remained where she was but as for the rocks they shot out towards the gang members. They flinched and covered their heads and faces against the rocks but they didn't even have to do that. They struck at their bodies but bounced off like nothing. Most hit the ground. Akasha cursed inwardly at this. They showed their paled faces to look at Akasha in fear. It seemed it didn't matter that the move was all that powerful. They were more afraid of having a mutant to face them.
"Beat it." She hissed with a scowl on her face. It had taken a lot to control those rocks from impailing them.
Just like that, at her command, and with no further adeu, they took off into the night.
Akasha turned to regard the boy who was being attacked, but saw that he, too, had taken off, his belongings already gathered up and taken with him. There was a strange and somber look on her face as she stood there, alone, for a few minutes. Then, she slowly walked home, thinking about nothing else but the warm, inviting (though not so comfortable) bed.
