The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

“Danger Room, that sounds like a very ominous name. What sort of training does it offer? Also, how well would a regular human stand up to it? While I have no power, I am a skilled martial artist and proficient with many hand to hand combat weapons. I was wondering if it would be possible to do a light session, to get a feel of it?”
Fiona nodded, and headed to the area. Remembering the controls from last time, she entered the room easily. Surrounding the two was a large almost warehouse looking room that faintly emitted a sense of knowing, as though the room were alive. Looking to Hunter, she proceeded to answer his questions through example.
"Well Mr. Antonescu, there are many different types of training available. For example, the setting can be changed in the room to suit your particular ability, such as setting the room in the outdoors."
Fiona proceeded to do so, calling out in a clear, strong voice: "Randomized outdoor setting, simulated danger please." Within a quick moment a voice responded. "Night or day, ma'am?" "Night please." answered Fiona. Immediately they were plunged into a tropical rainforest, complete with gorgeous stars overhead and natural wildlife calling out to them.
"Now, a regular human could perhaps handle the sparring type programs of moderate level, however it's only mutants with the agility and prowess that can be applied to combat that can be placed within the higher level programs."
Turning back to the general area, she looked to Hunter with a furtive glance. "Do you wish to attempt something now?" she asked, waiting for his reply to get started.
Hunter was stunned by the realism of their surrounding. Even his enhanced senses were fooled into think they were in a rainforest. If they had training like this he may have to reassess his earlier plans. “I’ll stick with a low level program then,” he decided, not wanting to give away his abilities. Despite it being night he could see clear as day, and the wildlife around him was so real, even down to their smells. Carefully he removed his jacket and tie, placing them folded on the ground.
“Are you allowed weapons or do you have to go unarmed? If you have weapons a broadsword would be my weapon of choice. What of our opponents, what will I be squaring off against?”
Fiona got ready to take action as soon as she saw Hunter remove his jacket and tie. Nodding, she answered his weapons question with a quick summon from the room.
"One broadsword please, and one bow staff." she requested.
The broadsword appeared as though materialized from thin air on a near-by tree stump. It glittered beautifully in the moonlight, the polished metal catching every moonbeam. "Length?" asked the room, and Fiona answered quickly: "Seven feet please." Directly behind her landed the staff, it having impaled itself into the ground behind her. She turned quickly and grabbed the staff, placing it on her right side.
"Level two spar program, humanoid please!" called Fiona, and soon they were ambushed by two men in black rushing at them with daggers.
Hunter grabbed the sword and spun to face his opponent. He made a mental note not to get cut, or his healing abilities would show in an hour or so. Swinging the sword in a wide arc he forced his opponent back. He continued the motion as he brought the sword back around and lunged, his opponent just sidestepping the sword point. The sword was good, but not like his blade. It had been made by a French sword master specifically for him over two hundred and fifty years ago. That weapon had seen him through more fights than he could remember.
He danced backwards as his assailant came forward, stabbing with the daggers. Darting to one side he slashed his opponent’s side. Blood, so real he could smell it. he held his bloodlust in check as he readied for his opponents counter attack.
Fiona barely had time to see Hunter stab his opponent before the other man came lunging at her with his dagger outstretched. She knocked him down easily with a well timed swing of the staff, and stabbed his chest when he was down, knowing it would wind him for a few moments.
"As you see.." she said taking a breath as her opponent tossed the staff to the side, causing Fiona to flip away and back to regain her staff, "The fighting process is very lifelike."
She looked up in time to see Hunter's first opponent run at him at full force and jump into the air to try and deliver a powerful kick to the man's torso.
“Indeed,” Hunter replied, dodging back form his opponent. Seeing Fiona launch herself at him he spun to face her previous foe. The man had regained his feet and charged, daggers held high. Raising his sword to block the daggers Hunter shouldered the guy, knocking him off his feet. He swung downwards, but only hit earth as the man rolled aside. Leaving his sword embedded in the ground Hunter leapt back form a dagger thrust as the man regained his feet.
Catching the man’s next thrust Hunter wrapped his arm about the man’s and wrenched upwards, breaking it. Booting the man in the chest he wrenched the sword free and advanced, closing for the kill. “Most realistic, I could have sworn that I was fighting real men, even down to the sound of his arm breaking. It’s remarkable.”
OOC: Pardon my bad grammar before, I was kind of in la-la land x.x
Fiona grumbled at the remarkable part as she stuck down the man before her, her kick landing effectively. The man's back hit the floor with a loud thud, causing him to groan. Taking the opportunity, Fiona grabbed the staff and stabbed it into the man's face, splintering his skull into a concave mess. As soon as he was terminated, his bloody corpse dissapeared leaving nothing but a bloody mess on the ground.
Hunter's opponent was soon slashed by Hunter's blade, and he too dissapeared. "End simulation." said Fiona loudly, and immediately everything vanished leaving the bare warehouse again.
"And that was the Danger Room." she said, wiping a trail of blood that was dripping down her neck onto her chest.
Hunter was panting slightly as he retrieved his jacket and tie. Rather than put them on, he slung them over his shoulder. “That was amazing. The closest I’ve had are combat training against others, but you have to stop short.” Again, this was not true, he had seen combat for the majority of his life.
“I assume that this training is voluntary, as I hardly expect all the students to be doing this. It is way beyond what my gym lessons were back in high school.” The lies came so naturally to him. Hunter had always seen lying just like any other skill, it needed constant practise to hone it. “So, where next. The more I see of the place the more I like it.”
