Rudi walked down one of the innumerable varied streets of New York City, his head down, his large hands in the pockets of his trench coat. The entwined chains that served as a belt clinked with every step he took, and if one were to take a close look at them one would notice that they seemed to shift and move on their own, independent of Rudi's movements. It was, however, New York, and so of course not one person gave Rudi a second glance. Heck, most people didn't even give him a first glance.
Rudi, on the other hand, was constantly observing, analyzing, and then dismissing everyone he saw around him. It was something you had to do automatically at all times, both as a bodyguard and an assassin. For Rudi, none of the people he was passing posed a visible threat, and none of them seemed to be paying him any special attention. That was good: he was just out for a quick walk around the city and then he was heading back to his hotel room for some R&R.
As Rudi turned the last corner, his hotel but a few blocks away, he spotted something lying on the ground nearby. He walked over to it, and saw that it was not a piece of junk, as he had first assumed, and was in fact somebody's wallet. Rudi picked it up, and slowly turned to look if anyone was looking on the ground, searching for it. When no such person was seen, Rudi opened the wallet to see how much money was inside. The answer: not much. Still, money was money, so Rudi shrugged and pocketed the wallet.

Ben sighed with relief as he slammed the door of his apartment shut. He'd spent all day trying to presuade yet another gallery to accept his artwork. No luck. This time the excuse they gave was that his work wasn't realistic enough, and they weren't looking for abstract pieces at the moment. Not realistic enough?! All he really DID was realistic impressions. Those high-class self centered...
"Wait a second." Ben said to himself, fumbling around the pockets of his pants and jacket. He couldn't find his wallet. Great. Someone must have stolen it (of course this was his first reaction, as was everyone elses in the same situation. Human nature always blamed an outside party first before admitting a mistake).
Ben closed his eyes an entered his trance, focusing on his wallet. When he opened them, the green glowing path leading him to his wallet shone out from the reddish world around it. Carefully, Ben followed it, making sure to be aware of his surroundings, since his powers muted most of his other senes.
Hopefully, the theif wasn't dangerous, and would be willing to just take the money in the wallet in exchange for the leather sleeve back. Hopefully.
